OAM4J: Some of you are missing the points here. It is not because of what Seun wants but because of the way he went about it and the wrong impression he (may be unknownly) made about the moderators here.

Seun owns the site, he is entitled to his opinion on every matter and he can use his influence to promote his opinion. We have no problem with that.

The moderators did not nominate Achebe, the process that put him forward is open and transparent, we only collated results openly. The result does not represent the views of the moderators. So if Seun has a problem with the process or the result, all he needed to have done was to send us a message and we will respect his wishes, inform the public of it and carry them out.

When we got a memo that Afam was not qualified to stand for election as a poster of the year, Jarus fought for 2 days to let it slide but for superior arguments of not laying bad precedence, we disqualified him, got attacked and insulted. We didnt mind.

But for Seun to open this thread and make it look like the moderators did wrong, is not only unfair and leaving a bad taste, but he also created a bad atmosphere for us to continue to work as moderators, cos he just reignforced the wrong opinion of those who think we are biased with the way we moderate. That is unacceptable.

Since its obvious you were not part of the whole process why did you resign too? Why didn't you ask seun questions and submit your disaproval of his action (even though he acted right tho) through 'your usual channel' before hurriedly resigning? you see your hypocrisy? you wanted to blackmail him for doing the right thing. You have to work on your temperament not just for nairaland.

Well, I just returned to Nairaland today after a long time (thanks to the holiday) only to discover I couldn't post till 6 today, another errant mod (mukina2) banned my azz while away. I used the opportunity to check the trends here anyway.

To the topic, great development Seun, You did the right thing. People don't know you also have the interest of your advertisers to protect. How will a sane man 'officialy' nominate Achebe amongst only 3 hall of shame inductees with all that happened in Nigeria this year, from national issues like the fuel subsidy protest, Allison Madueke, NLC to the Aluu killings, what a joke. This is the same element that coronated a dumb bigoted troll like Katsumoto the poster of the year after ACN Gbawe. lmaoooooooooo. next would have been demdem and Prof. corruption.

And Seun was right for detesting this act on sight without informing the moderators because first, it read honesty, and then the moderators didn't consult him first before making the very sensitive 'awards'. I wouldn't know if Jarus and co were aiming to feed Seun from the Awolowo Foundation account when they kill his site. So no apologies Seun.

Thankfully Seun has finally seen the level of tribalism and arrogance his moderators posses, I really hope others like Mukina2 will follow suit. We have some great moderators on Nairaland who can fill their space and this time I demand a Igbo and Yoruba mod. This is Nairaland Spring.

The tallest residential buildings I've seen in Nigeria are in Ikoyi and Victoria Island standing 10-15 floors on the average but high rise residential buildings are the way to go instead of all these housing schemes that consist of bungalows. The LASG has been doing fairly well and will give their 3-4 storey residential schemes a pass mark
