Psalmy2cute: I think efia is the best opv seed you'll find in the market,... some will even tell you it is better than most of these hybrid seeds from technicm... I'm not even interested in hybrids fresh pepper.heard most still get devastated by bacteria and fungi so what's the point? I just need a nice fresh pepper with shombo-level disease resistance. I would be so made.Lol |

Agriculture › Re: My First Farming Attempt At Maize, okra, egusi Melon And Pepper. by Mrkellz(op): 8:16pm On Dec 20, 2019 |
Psalmy2cute: What would you recommend then,?? 30cm 40cm 50cm 60cm?? @least what Is the minimum spacing you'll use for ata rodo.. if you're managing space 50cm Column by 50/60cm row in double rows with 1m walkway. I'm no expert though, just what I've deduced so far from the peppers I've seen. I think this spacing would work with more of a slant instead of planting right next to each other. |
Agriculture › Re: My First Farming Attempt At Maize, okra, egusi Melon And Pepper. by Mrkellz(op): 10:20pm On Dec 19, 2019 |
Psalmy2cute: Could same spacing be used for ata rodo?? I don't think so. Fresh pepper spreads more than shombo from what I've seen. Even this spacing I believe isn't ideal for shombo. I'm trying some out soon to get more Information. nursery already started. |

okoroemeka: well super marketer will be cancelled out because it is longer than the normal marketer, that cuke is an opv variety from a not too known seed company,I can remember when we planted Gloria cabbage from technisen and it crashed but a friend planted the same Gloria cabbage but the seeds were bought from Jos and it was a Danish company that made that Gloria cabbage seed and my farmer friend smiled to the bank,I have a strong suspicion that the cucumber variety is an opv variety probably from continental, Amira, chia Thai, etc, less known seed companies. Pls do you know the name of the Dutch company? |

my2chains: i think forliar spray seems to work very well with okro plants,
but the okro you planted is it the dwarf variety or just the normal type? Yeah. I think it's cuz the leaves are soft, also broad. Some are dwarf, some are a bit tall, say 2m. The taller ones delayed for about a week to 2 weeks after the shorter ones started production. I saw up to 4 different cultivars. |

okoroemeka: not possible, even cucumbers don't mature in a month I've actually had okra mature in 5weeks during the dry season.just seeds from d market and foliar feeding along with fungicide and pesticides. No manure or fertilizer.tho it was just my test plot... also a virgin land. |

Agriculture › Re: 30k Twice A Week From My Pepper Farm by Mrkellz: 4:52pm On Nov 23, 2019 |
okoroemeka: don't even think about that trust me it will not work, the farm will be doomed before even starting, most most pepper fruits you will get in the market is hybrid and if you recycle the seed it' will not work properly and other fruits will be from old farms that are already infected by numerous diseases and from those seeds you pass the infection to your farm, just forget about that idea,go and get technisem Safi it's cheap. How do I get the "Safi" variety because they don't have a lot of seed in Benin city. Don't see people doing much else than cassava.Lol |

okoroemeka: you don't need to buy all at once and keep, when starting a project we have a scale of preference,we get the ones that is needed that particular time like wormforce, then we plant, for 4500 plants you need 2300 holes at 2 gram per hole you have 4.6 kg and it's sold for #1700 per kg pack, you will use roughly 3 bags of rope, for the others just buy 1 pack or tin of everything after using you buy another.for fertilizer just get one bag. Thanks a lot.will start purchasing some of the items ASAP |
