Politics / Re: Is A Female President The Only Hope For Nigerians To Witness Good Governance? by Mrmik(m): 11:57pm On Mar 22, 2012
God forbid. Full stop. Nigerian woman in control? You will run. Slice Nigeria into pieces and you will get the best out of it.
Politics / Re: Confusion In Police Headquarter Abuja by Mrmik(m): 1:41am On Mar 21, 2012
Honestly that serves those bigots right. Someone should tell them that that is a smell of what the rank and files in the forces suffers. Those undeserved portfolios they all run around with.
Politics / Re: 2012 Budget Breakdown by sectors (Defence is the biggest) by Mrmik(m): 5:17am On Dec 14, 2011
Has anyone really thought of changing the name of that country to something else; as I do not see or feel any art of bond between the people and perhaps the name of that country? This joke here you call budget is an utter rubbish. It simply points to a hopelessly clueless bunch of opportunist managing a well blessed land.
Reading through this whole thing makes you but sigh what a waste these people are. Fair will be a "Koboko Haram" for all these robbers that is parading the country's power corridors. Practical evidence of their bought certificates.
Romance / Re: Based On Different Religions, Is Marriage A Must? by Mrmik(m): 11:21pm On Nov 15, 2011
Boy don't worry about your Mum she's not gonna die and should she then go bury her, that's a natural debt we all have to pay some day. You may marry and sigh away sundays and your darling Mum will not be there to rescue you. Again remind your Mum that the wifey she is compelling you to get could enter your family and turn absolutely the greatest or worst enemy she (your Mum) ever knew.

My opinion. Do it your time and only your time.

Cheers.
Family / Re: Am I Right For Not Supporting My Friends Plan 4 Abortion by Mrmik(m): 2:12pm On Oct 07, 2011
stop thinking of IFs and MAYBEs, this is your dear friends life you are talking about.
your friend IS NOT ready to have a child and HAS NOT got an education, but yet he will have to go and find work (obviously only some bs job) and start caring for this child and mother (even though he doesnt want to). that will surely make him a bitter father and a bitter partner who will blame that child for his failure.

he will ultimately hold you also responsible for not helping to correct his mistake when he needed you the most.

as i always write:
In Ecclesiastes 6:3, God compares the rich man who has led an empty foolish life with a still-born infant and says, “it would have been better for that man if he had not been born.” The world is better off without Judases and Hitlers and Charles Mansons – who quite often begin life unwanted, grow up abused and hated, and then take out their anger on society. How many psychopaths and destructive misfits will be born if/when people are forced to bear unwanted children?

also The Bible indicates that personhood begins when a baby emerges from the mother’s womb. In the Bible and in modern life, birthdays are observed on the date of the baby’s emergence from the womb. The precise moment of the beginning of personhood is when the baby takes its first breath because that’s when God infuses the baby with a soul. Genesis 2:7 says, “And the Lord God formed man out of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” In other words, when an infant breathes its first breath, the soul enters its body and it achieves the status of person. . . . . . . not before!

taken from the essay of a great man!

Let me add a little to the text from a poster above. You are twenty years old and I take it your friend is around that age as well. I you are in a position to assist him and refuses to do so now, If he goes along to have a baby he has not planned for yet, can you imagine the amount or level of hardship you will cause to the three of them: father, mother and the poor unborn baby sometime in the future?

Let's take they are both not from a well to do family and their parents are struggling to cope with their education, and all of a sudden there is a child which may stop the both form proceding with their academic work, how welcoming do you feel that will be to the families involved?

My simple advise: when you are in a position to help your friend, do go ahead and do exactly that and should there be a judgement day let him answer for his doings. For if I was him and you abandon me in a situation like this then that will be termination of our friendship incase that friendship means anything to you.
Literature / Re: Why Do Most Nigerians Fail To Pronounce These Words Correctly? by Mrmik(m): 2:29am On Sep 29, 2011
This is an interesting one whereby I believe that the standard of education in the country have devastatingly deteriorated. The teachers of English language do not even understand the use of phonetics provided in the dictionaries and other English books. Thereby can't correct their students on the right pronunciations. Not funny as this may sound; a 29 years old woman I met in Nigeria during a visit not long ago surprised me by telling me she thought a stiff Pen** had a bone in it. I almost lost my breath. Guess what she has an HND. HELP me on this if you are only concerned with difficult thing like pronunciation.
Overall I believe the country have a very poor edu-standard.
Crime / Re: The Boys In The Video Are Not ABSU Students - Governor Orji by Mrmik(m): 7:05am On Sep 21, 2011
People I do quite understand the emotion been attached to this issue. However anyone who have seen the said clip should have an analytical view of it. If I did get it right ; the original video was supposed to be an hour long, I saw ten minutes of it and can only but question the source of the information linking these whole thing to ABSU. One of the men claimed he was doing his IT and one mentioned he was doing law; real law, whatever that means. But the girl in question did not however seem to have anything to do with the institution because all she kept saying was her aunt's shop which apparently was outside the locality. I am not in support of what the men did: no, it was rather disgusting. But linking this disgraceful incident to ABSU might be worth thinking about.

Again my instinct tells me this whole rape thing may have been made up because some level of familiarity did exist between the victim and the accused. If you were privileged to view the said clip I will not be surprised to see you ask questions just like I'm doing right now. A girl is been raped and she does not really put up any struggle, in one occasion she even wanted to pick up her call. And one could see in the clip she held her phone all through the acclaimed ordeal.

She did mention Uchenna which I suppose is one of the accused. My question here is was she a victim of some sort or was this a gamble went wrong for her. Did she received more than she bargained.

Sorry I remember in one occasion when one of the men said I quote: you know if you go now I will not drop you. The girl responded: I know ! The rest not quite audible. Sounds to me there was some sort of agreement here.

Even at one point, though I can't really remember what one of the accused demanded and the girl's response was: "Am I not trying"? I don't actually know what to make of this.
Was this rape as claimed or consensual you make up your mind, but I find many questions needs to be answered. Gang - bang went wrong yep. Rape ? I don't know.

And to facilitate the investigation the victim is alive and Uchenna is alive more links we do not need to unravel this puzzle.
When you can subdue your emotions first and have an in-dept look at the whole story and evidence available before making up your mind.

Don't get me wrong: I do not condone with the (evil) of these men and at the same time we should not be misled, ABSU might as well be the victim here. Maybe some image smear, who knows.
Fashion / Re: Miss Angola Is Crowned Miss Universe 2011 by Mrmik(m): 4:10pm On Sep 13, 2011
Well, it's no gainsaying that Eve was from Africa. This girl is just a reminder. Congrats !
Family / Re: My Wife And I Have Fought Again And I Think I Want Out by Mrmik(m): 8:24am On Aug 23, 2011
My friend if your story do really exist; take a quick U-Turn full stop. All this advice and suggestions here will even go further to confuss you. This new found freedom is an absolute conflict to African women imported over here to the west. If you expect change good luck with that, most of similiar stories never come out positive. We suffer from shame and pride and that's why we think devorce is not part of our culture, well good luck. However try to mix water and oil and see how long that will take; that is what a marriage like that tends to be. Anyhow my best wishes.
Jokes Etc / Re: Abuja Wives Rejoice Over 10pm Curfew; Send A Thank-you Gift-hamper To The Person by Mrmik(m): 4:10am On Jul 08, 2011
This is sheer rubbish. If a woman does not know how get her husband home except through GEJ curfew; then she should be honestly asking herself the question: am I really his wife. How will any Nigerian city operate without nightlife. GEJ should revisit his security department and sort it out. Like a poster mentioned; there are loads of people that make their livings at night. And moreover this is an absolute infringement of people's freedom of movement. I don't understand why anybody will be impressed about this.
Romance / Re: Now Who Should Sacrifice Here And What Is Sacrifice Anyway by Mrmik(m): 2:35pm On Jun 12, 2011
People where are your sense logic in the first place? A lady got married and a year on she lands this dream job in a foreign country. And the question of should I stay in my marriage or toss it for my career pops up. Well simple anwser; the marriage was just a spare option, someone up there feels he is about to lose one of his acquisitions and therefore the best option is keep her stocked away where he can still maintain his authority. The hubby should just let go and find himself a wife and not a woman. Basta
Usually a typical Nigerian wife will be more interested in raising a family first after marriage and not career; hubby rich or poor. This character in this picture is not for real rather a mere time bomb. Like I earlier said the hubby shld go nd find himself a wife and not a woman.
Religion / Re: Speaking In Tongues In Present Day Churches by Mrmik(m): 1:58pm On Jun 08, 2011
Quite interesting that this rubbish you call speaking in tongues or 'spitting' in tongues only exist in the black or mostly African churches where you stumble over the most hypocrisy in the world. No wonder you have smart thieves flying with private jets to carry your hard earned money to God or whoever he needs those jets to go and meet. Anyway the same bible said it all already; that it shall be taken from the poor an d given to the rich. Go on keep deceiving yourself and be 'spitting' in tongues.

Ewu speaking in tongues.

Politics / Re: Yet Another National I.D. Card Scheme by Mrmik(m): 3:08pm On Jun 07, 2011
Fellow Nigerians: I have argued this point in the past at every circle and level. For any Nation to function normally; it is irresistible for her to identify her citizens. As this will go a long way to aid planing, budgeting and above all maintain stable security.

If you have had to with the western world; Germany for instance where the ID is unavoidable you will agree with the scheme that it is long over due. It is an expensive scheme yes I do honestly agree, however it is expenses worth doing so long as Nigeria will pursue it sincerely.

Take an instance the United Kingdom who did not join other European countries in doing the scheme, one need not mention the amount of damages the system has suffered whether in their Welfare system or financial sector.

Nigerians are not criminals but the system provides them the opportunity to exploit her and that is why this correction need be done. Yes it will be difficult but it is not impossible with a bit of dedication.
If need be the Commission should liaise with Nigerians abroad and their experiences will be of tremendous help, even as volunteers. Just say yes we can.
Politics / Re: Nigeria’s Airports Most Embarrassing – Mark by Mrmik(m): 1:46pm On Dec 09, 2010
Sorry volks, but I think this could be a turning point for us all. If the senate president has suddenly realised what state of ram-shackled level the Nigerian airports are; probably when he goes back to the senate he will emphatically caution them that there is still a lot that need to be done. MM airport is the poorest international airport I have ever flown through. A simple thing like the colour they chose for the walls and roof is the most depressing thing I ever come across. The state of the toilets, the tiles on the floor. To mention but a few. Sincerely most of the things we call airports are not even qualified to be called airstrips. I happened to land at the Owerri airport a couple of months ago, and that was the worst disappointment of my life.

Volks I'm always saying; if can't initiate let's imitate. Even regional airports in the west is no comparism to any of the things we call airports. And for a country like Nigeria this is a massive embarrasment.

So honourable senate president it is time for nation building and no more selfish looting.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Obafemi Martins Leaves Wolfsburg For Russian Champions by Mrmik(m): 11:59am On Jul 10, 2010
My people isn't it time we start telling ourselves the truth, how can Obafemi declare himself 25 even when he looks a year or two younger Kanu.
Nigeria should learn to really chose young footballers with their real age and not Nigerian Passport ages. That way they can run and chase other Nations young footballers. And not this old muscle packs Nigeria keep fielding in important matches that cannot deliver nothing.
Romance / Stay Or Let Go, What Will You Do ? by Mrmik(m): 12:18pm On Jun 13, 2010
If you happen to get involved in one of those 'UPS' marriages and the partner joins you, then shortly discover you do not really have any true feelings for the partner but still you decide to give luck a chance, still after 7 years all you both do is shout and scream at each other esspecially the woman even when kids are involved, what will you do stay and keep trying or quit and start all over again somewhere else ?
