Bed bugs are small, parasitic insects that belong to the family Cimicidae. These insects are known for their ability to feed on the blood of humans and animals, typically during the night when their hosts are asleep. While they are not considered carriers of diseases, their bites can cause discomfort, itching, and irritation. Bed bugs have become a significant nuisance worldwide, as infestations can be challenging to eradicate!

Now that you have known what bed bugs are, lets find out how to detect these invaders!


How to Detect Bed Bugs in Your home!

If you're not a very good observer, you might not notice the presence of bed bugs in your home for a very long time! This is because these thieves are only very active while you sleep and are ready to feed on you till your skin is sore and itchy!

If you ever wake up with an itchy skin or red skin, it is possible your home is infested already. Do the following to find out if its bed bugs for sure

1. Visual Inspection: Regularly inspect your sleeping area, including the mattress, box spring, bed frame, headboard, and nearby furniture. Use a flashlight to help you see in dark crevices.

2. Check Mattress and Bedding: Carefully examine seams, folds, and tufts of the mattress and box spring. Look for live bed bugs, shed skins (exoskeletons), and tiny, pearly-white eggs.

3. Inspect Furniture: Bed bugs may hide in or near furniture close to the bed. Thoroughly check cracks, joints, and seams for signs of infestation.

4. Look for Stains: Look for reddish-brown stains on your sheets, pillowcases, and mattress caused by bed bug excrement. These stains may resemble small dots or smears.

5. Check for Bites: If you wake up with itchy, red bites arranged in clusters or lines on your skin, it could be a sign of bed bug bites. However, these bites are not always definitive proof of an infestation, as they can resemble bites from other insects.

6. Search for Bugs: Adult bed bugs are about the size of an apple seed and reddish-brown in color. Nymphs are smaller and lighter in color. Look for these bugs in the areas mentioned earlier.

Locate any Pest Control shop around you!

As you walk in, ask the seller to sell you DD Force!

After getting the DD Force, ask for a plastic sprayer!

These should not cost more than three Thousand Five Hundred Naira depending on which part of Nigeria you reside in

Go home and follow the following instructions

1. Carefully open the DD Force as it is a very powerful chemical usually meant to be used in the farm.

2. Pour 1 third of the content into the sprayer

3. Depending on the time of application, it is highly advised that you or your kids not be in the house after applying this chemical. You and your family need to stay away for at least 5 hours as inhaling DD Force could be very bad for your health.

4. Spray generously in your cushion. This means you'll use the other hand to open up known spots where you found bed bugs and spray the chemical generously. You may also want to spray all round the cushion to take the fights to bed bug hideouts unkwnon to you!

5. remove your bed sheets and spray all round the bed.
because bed bug eggs are hard to detect and kill, it is recommended that you spray some of this chemical at the edges of the walls, at the edges of your room, under wardrobes, etc

Since you have cockroaches and mosquitoes, please ensure cupboards in the kitchen are well sprayed. Under cupboards, under tables, under kitchen sink, wash hand basin, etc.

Spraying on these parts of the home ensures there are no hiding places for the insects and parasites.

After 6 hours, the chemical must have worked effectively, your next step is to take your broom or brush and sweep out all dead cockroaches!

Dispose cockroaches carefully and wash your hands afterwards!

Remember, you still have some leftover DD Force! Keep this very safely as you might need it if ever you find traces or new hideouts of bed bugs or cockroaches and mosquitoes!

Please ensure you Observe the following cautionary steps


1. To ensure your safety, you can spray the rooms today and the living rooms, kitchen and toilet tomorrow! But if you're sure there won't be issues, youre able to wait 5 hours before going into your house, then spray all sections at the same time!

2.Wash hands carefully with soap and towel dry after applying the chemical!

3. Close doors and windows before spraying the chemical and ensure the doors are shut for 5/6 hours

4. Keep your children away from sprayed area as inhaling DD Force could be very dangerous for their health!

5. Ensure foods and food materials are well covered before spraying around the kitchen!
