The new SSG is most qualified for the job. Let Umanah rest jooor. He has been a major beneficiary of dis our democracy. Retired from civil service as a director in d budget office, commissioner for finance for 8 good years n now secretary to state government for 6 yrs, den wants to contest for office of governor even wen its d turn of anoda ethnic group (eket/oron)to produce the governor. He has even been nominated to represent Akwa ibom state on the board of NDDC as managing director n as I heared he refused. Well enough is enough, let d right thing be done. Here is the CV of the new SSG. He is from Onna L.G.A. He has been on Zenith bank’s board since December 2006. Mr. Emmanuel also doubled as Non-Executive Director, Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) from 2008 to date and Director, Nigerian Interbank Settlement Systems (NIBBS) from 2009, Non-Executive Director, Zenith Bank, United Kingdom; Zenith Bank – Gambia; Zenith Bank – Sierra Leone; Zenith Insurance; Zenith Pensions and Custodian; Zenith Securities; Zenith Trustees and Zenith Registrars. |
MR UMANAH OKON UMANAH is 1 man tat has benefitted from government for a very long time. It has always favoured him. He retired from civil service as a director in the budget office (still earning pension). He became the commissioner of finance for two terms (1999-2003 n 2003-2007)under Obong Victor Bassey Attah, wen chief Godswill Obot Akpabio(ono mkpo inam 1 of nigeria) became governor from 2007 till date, Mr. Umanah has been the secretary to the state government (SSG) till date. Right now he has again been nominated to represent Akwa Abasi Ibom state (Land of uncommon transformation) on the board of NDDC as the Managing Director (No Akwa ibom man or woman has ever held such) D issue now is tat he has refused the offer instead he wants to be governor. Akwa Ibom is divided into 3 major ethnic groups namely:1. Ibibio 2. Annang 3. oron the ibibios av been in power since 1999 to 2007, annang av been in power since 2007 till date n it will expire by 2015. is it not morally right for an oron man to take over the mantle of leadership from governor Akpabio ? People will say we should not sacrifice a good person tat can continue de transformation drive on the alter of zoneing. But if not for zoneing, governor Akpabio would most likely not have been the governor, also if we did not give him the chance, we wud not av known tat such people exist in annang land. So my candid view is tat oron nation should be given a chance to occupy the highest office in the land. This call is at a time our nation is going tru some political troubles.. Let us do wat is right. Mr Umanah enough is enough. Don't spoil ur reputation with wat might look as if u r greedy.gGod bless AKWA IBOM STATE |

An illiterate mother trying to know about her son’s performance in school, dials son’s matriculation number, hoping to reach the boy’s guardian in school but reached Boko Haram HQ. The nation was rocked today when it was revealed that a woman in Ibadan reached the number of Nigerian popular terrorist group Boko Haram’s HQ after dialling her son’s matric no. Shade Adeyemi is currently being held in protective custody after she reflexively entered her son’s matriculation number into her phone, only to hear a voice on the other end say “Salaam Alaykum; this is Boko Haram HQ. Are you for donations, volunteering or helpful information?” At this point, she hung up and called the police, who are currently investigating. A spokesman for the Nigerian Police said “I cannot categorically say anything on this issue for now or release the number to the public,we must wait for orders from our oga at the top. Dassall.” |

Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, who is also the Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, was among six governors that were not at the Peoples Democratic Party Governors' Forum meeting, which was held in Abuja on Monday night. Also absent were governors Sule Lamido (Jigawa); Dr. Babangida Aliyu (Niger); Seidu Dakingari (Kebbi); Aliyu Wamako (Sokoto); Musa Kwakwanso(Kano) and Sulivan Chime). Eight other governors, who were not at the meeting, sent their deputies unlike the six absentee governors. Seven governors and an acting governor(Taraba State), were also in attendance. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the party, Chief Tony Anenih, was also at the meeting. Anenih was accompanied by the Secretary of the Board, Sen. Walid Jibril and a former Governor of old Anambra State, Chief Jim Nwobodo. A former President of the Senate, Chief Ken Nnamani, was also at the meeting, which was held at Akwa Ibom Governor's Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja. The refusal of Amaechi to attend the meeting might not be unconnected with the reported plans by the Presidency to remove him as the chairman of the NGF. The Presidency is believed to be using some governors to remove Amaechi, believing that he was not working with the move to return President Goodluck Jonathan to power in 2015. |
