I do agree Tinubu needs to curb spending but he is keen on a second term.

The solution here is more of a fiscal policy.

Short run:
- the govt should reduce companies income tax.
- they should collaborate with dangote and other local refineries, while encouraging competitions from other interested prospects and also get to work on their own refineries instead gaslighting the masses. This will reduce pressure on naira and all the transactions should be in naira.
- they should grant few subsidies to key manufacturing companies, this will help reduce cost of production.
- they should reduce vat and remove all taxes of food items for now.
- they should tackle insecurities so farmers can get to work.
- grant subsidies to farmers thru free fertilizers, machineries etc.

Long run:
- invest in human capital
- production, production, production. We should produce what is competitive in int'l trade. This will create demand for our naira.
- more players in the oil refinery sector. It'll be at down price of fuel.


Truth is, they know what to do, but won't do it since it will impede their lavish spending and wasting of resources. And the president shows no sign of one who's serious, he's only interested in his lavish lifestyle.

Raising interest rate to even over 30% without addressing the cause of the inflation will only cause an adverse effect on businesses, inflation will keep going up, leading to stagflation, which we're already experiencing

My company just recently increased price of all it products, which other companies in same industry have done. Same with all companies across other industries.

The inflation will keep surging, govt saying inflation is going down is a scam and facade.



And if you think the president hasn't been enlightened on these solutions and more, then you're gullible.

He won't take those steps because it doesn't suit his spending lifestyle but will continue to take shortcut like Mr Cardoso is doing right now

Recently, a microfinance bani through their bank wanted me to save with them, offering me 20% interest rates.

I rejected it because it was lower than inflation. Though it looked tempting, the fact the rate was lower than inflation, this put me off.

In real terms, I was losing 13%.

If they offered me 35%, I would most likely have jumped at it as I would make 2% in real terms.

While Nigerians are busy complaining, let me highlight some important achievements of the Tinubu administration in less than 16 months.
1. No more traffic jams on our roads. Most private cars are now resting in peace.
2. No more generator noise pollution in our neighbourhood. We now enjoy silent nights.
3. Less Nigerians now suffer health issues related to obesity and lack of exercise. You don't need a doctor to tell you that it is healthy to walk.
4. Our hospitals are no longer overcrowded. The hospital bills and the cost of medicines are enough to make people stay in their home and die peacefully.
5. No more overcrowded markets and shopping malls. The prices of essential commodities have made them less essential.
6. Even the japa syndrome has reduced to the barest minimum. The exchange rate has rnsured that cost of visa and airfare are out of reach to most Nigerians.
7. And many more...you can add your own. Tinubu's is an uncommon government.
