Nogen: Wow!!! Want to share this great news with you guys. My parents' visas have been approved. They applied on the 1st of February (Visiting visa) Need them to come help me out while i write my exams as Oga has gone back to Nigeria.
Secondly, i got a school fees waiver. I paid the same amount as a Canadian student. The University gave me the privilege and what it means is that i must maintain great grades to keep enjoying the privilege. God is too good. I am so excited. Congratulations Nogen. All the best. |

pleasureosondu: Hello house, I've really benefitted from the info provided by all, especially those already living in the"promised land". God bless whatever legit hussle you're into there. However, I think it would be important if you guys go include contact info about the agencies that helped during the application period. No one wants to get scammed in this " Back to Daura" era oh. You don’t need any agent. All the information you need is on this platform. Read up https://www.nairaland.com/4212543/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled |

Good Day All,
We would be going to Ontario in March for short-landing. Please can you advise on how much we can achieve in 10 days. Apart from landing formalities, SIN, bank account opening, possibly write the DL test. I had a crazy idea of looking for a volunteer or job shadow opportunity for a week, but i think i am being overambitious.
We are also considering going across the border to Niagara falls/Bufallo NY during the weekend while we are there but my worry is how to return into Canada without a PR card.
Landed seniors , please help with your advise/suggestions. |

Sounds great. Could you please also send me a copy of the resume? My email is tweechic101@yahoo.com. Thanks CAstruggle: Thanks to the person that introduced freetones here.
I purchased a number and opted for unlimited calls to and from US/Canada.
Just today i had my first phone interview with a Canadian employer. It was successful but unfortunately the job is starting too close to my landing date next week. Am suppose to meet with the manager and suppose to receiving some further training prior to the start date.
Another employer just contacted me for interview. Hopefully this one would click.
For all those hoping to get a job before leaving... its very possible. Package your resume... apply via indeed, job bank etc
Am landing Ontario next week. Any landed Nairalander with connect to IT jobs... please hook a brother up |

behati: Hello house, been silently following the thread. So I got PPR last year and did soft landing because I sort of wanted to get a job or at least be in the process of getting one before I move. I got the freetone app, included the number on my CV and applied for jobs. More recently, I started to contact talent attraction managers of the companies I was interested in on LinkedIn, it was hard for me to do but I decided to anyway since the worst I'll get is a "NO". Some didn't respond and I would send reminders after a week or two and I started getting positive replies, emails, phone interviews and video interviews. Summary is i just got a job in Canada right here in Nigeria. Although the job required someone with a CPA designation, i managed to convince them that i had ICAN which would make it easy when i want to obtain a CPA designation.
Just thought to encourage someone to TRY! Congratulations. |

Pdirac: I completely doubt what you just posted, even if the recruitment is on hold, no agent at DPR will tell you anything. Really? So I would lie about it for what reason exactly I was not even aware of the ban until I called and the agent mentioned it. Maybe you can try calling too. #doubtingthomas |

tolesky: The FG have banned fresh recruitment for 2018, in MDAs , except for presidential approval. I hope it doesn't affect DPR 2016 ongoing recruitment we have been salivating over. I think it does. I just spoke to the call agent from DPR and he said the recruitment is temporarily on hold. |

elfmann: Search this thread. Make sure the fund u want to present doesn't have any encumbrances.
Include ur baby.. with the American passport.. he won't need to pay the 150cad fee, if u must pay now, u are refunded later. Ofcourse he would need to pay the 150cad fee for her. She is a US citizen not Canadian. I paid the fees for my two kids. A friend that had her son in Canada got a refund of the fees. |

XX01: I understand what you mean and agree more or less. Doing it 2 months early is not advisable but doing it the day you submit might not give them a chance to upload it on time. They may open the application, no medical yet, and just dump it for sometime. At best maybe by a few days.
Anyways, it's just conspiracy theories from all these WhatsApp chats. It seemed to be a reigning thingy. Well I know someone who did his medicals the day before he submitted. And he got his PPR on day 30. There are no hard or fast rules on these things. |

Lordnath: Today marks 80 days in NA2. I'm tired mehn, tired of analysing cases on immitracker just to determine possible PPR date. So I decided to take a 'siddon look' approach and focus instead on my travel plans.
Let them take their time in Trafalgar Square...when it exceeds normal processing timeframe, I'll bring down their door. Good luck all London crew and all the best with travel plans. 85days in NA2. Waiting on London. |

I have a friend who got ITA September 6 and AOR September 8. The guy has gotten his PPR already, passport is in Accra waiting for visa and COPR. |
