De Beauvoir: If you feel like indulging him then by all means do so.

Be warned that you are not likely to get a lot of cerebral feedback from him though.
Got you boo. wink

I seen it on other pages but I want to what we lied about! grin

Do you know?

De Beauvoir: Religions are mostly responsible for that.
Hmmm. It's interesting how some people pick and choose what they want to follow in the bible, koran, and torah as long as it benefits them.
Romance › Re: MRM Vs Feminism by MrsChima(f): 3:48pm On Oct 20, 2013
De Beauvoir: Don't waste your time replying him, he will continue pretending he doesn't know he is wrong just because he wants to save face.
I've conversed with him before; I know.
I am enjoying this really because he contradicted himself then gets mad at me because I bluntly said he was fighting AGAINST progress AFTER his self admission?!!!

It's hilarious. grin grin grin grin
Romance › Re: MRM Vs Feminism by MrsChima(f): 3:44pm On Oct 20, 2013
De Beauvoir: You believe in gender roles and that makes you anti feminst.
Gender role is very interesting. Who came up with gender roles?
Romance › Re: MRM Vs Feminism by MrsChima(f): 3:41pm On Oct 20, 2013
carujmonella: A word of advice. Never expect a biased feminist to admit s/he is wrong. to get them to admit their wrongs is like expecting a hen to grow teeth grin

A question was asked, and an excuse of "you're against progress, I'm not interested" came up grin
Why are you mad? grin. Did that comment really rattled you?

Can't handle the truth dearie? grin
Romance › Re: MRM Vs Feminism by MrsChima(f): 3:38pm On Oct 20, 2013
carujmonella: Of course!!. Never expect a feminist to say the truth when they're cornered.. Typical.

By saying I can't suport feminism to some extent, you're also fighting progress. I'm as well not interested cool
Cornered? You are the one that said you are for feminism and CONTRADICTED yourself saying it's not realistic. grin grin

I have never expected a dummy to say they are for feminism but it's unrealistic. grin

So now you are not a feministhuh Since feminists don't tell the truth when they.are cornered according to you?

Buhahahahahha. This is hilarious!
Romance › Re: MRM Vs Feminism by MrsChima(f): 3:29pm On Oct 20, 2013
pc guru: Well yes i know it sounds tricky but actually you can, it doesn't mean you can't disagree with it, just as much as i believe Nigeria should be corruption, i can equally tell you its not realistic at all, it depends on the context of the environment
In a standard debate, there are two sides: opposing and supporting. Fact.

If a person is not sure of which side to "support" then they are neutral. You can't be a rapist and are against rape.

Now getting back to feminism....you can agree with the fundamentals of feminism or you can disagree and say I would like to see this and that before I truly supports feminism.

Once you disagree with a notion...you discredited the whole thing. Fact.

What one poster said about feminism being supported but unrealistic is contradicting. Just because Feminism is not successful in Nigeria doesn't mean it's not realistic.

De Beauvoir: Wow, mrs chima you're so badass....I'm really loving your dismissive attitude right now grin.
I am deathly blunt and don't have time.to baby posters.

Truth hurts but it's necessary...do you agree?
Romance › Re: MRM Vs Feminism by MrsChima(f): 3:13pm On Oct 20, 2013
axion: Mrs Chima.

The argument on MLK broadly applies to race discussions, but why bring that up as a riposte on a thread on feminism? My point was: it's ironic for someone against feminism to be benefitting from it. Her response was: but without MLK we won't be here. Duh! It's off point, and even if it's not off point, she is thus supporting me that it's similarly ironic to - so to say - be biting the hand that fed you.
I understand your point but I can understand the analogy of the fight against equality not saying it's a perfect analogy which is why I said it wasn't articulated how you would like.

A different analogy would be more appropriate I agree.
Romance › Re: MRM Vs Feminism by MrsChima(f): 3:10pm On Oct 20, 2013
carujmonella: Nope.. She and you are wrong. One can be feminist and still choose what and what principle to support

Example:

Are female muslims who wear hijab to play football not female footballers simply cause they cover their head while majority if not all, doest wear hijab?. By supporting her, are you not implying that female muslims who doesn't follow the ways of the majority female football are not footballers?
No I am not wrong. You are fighting against progress and I am not interested.

axion: undecided Guy you don't seem to be making sense. Where did I discredit MLK? I said it is off point, not that she's wrong. I hope you can comprehend simple statements in English?
Maybe the poster didn't articulate the point concisely as you would like however the analogy regards to MLK fought for racial equality is the same as women fighting for gender equality.

It's about fighting for equality period.

Nevertheless, you are correct that people can't be oppressees fighting against movements that can free them.

Frankenstein: Feminists in Nigeria are a bunch of disgruntled women looking for ways to ridicule men or just to be noticed. How many of them have donated funds or contributed in any way to fight female genital mutilation, oppression of poor widows and the neglect of the girl child in most communities? Instead, they roam the Internet to seek for lousy equality. Just like me seeking for equality in coeducation schools-Girls receiving the same number of strokes for the same offense with boys. Ha very ha!
Feminism in Nigeria is not popular and very few women in Nigeria are advocating that publicly.

It's means nothing when women complain about being treated like shit and does nothing about it.

I am begging African women and other nationalities to leave feminist movement alone for they are truly fucking up the pure cause of what is about.

Talking about and doing nothing is cowardice to me.

Spits.
Romance › Re: MRM Vs Feminism by MrsChima(f): 2:48pm On Oct 20, 2013
De Beauvoir: Definition of feminism;

fem·i·nism [fémmə nìzzəm]
noun
1. belief in women's rights: belief in the need to secure rights and opportunities for women equal to those of men, or a commitment to securing these
2. movement for women's rights: the movement committed to securing and defending rights and opportunities for women that are equal to those of men

You are not a feminist.
Thank you. I was just about to post the definition. kiss

axion: @pc guru

Most of the problems people have with Feminism are as a result of wrong notions about what it really stands for. Similar to how some people hate Muslims because of Islamic terrorist factions or hate Christian pastors because some evade tax and divert public funds to live lives of excess.

In logic there's something called Strawman's argument, where you set up your ideas about sonething you don't fully understand then you start fighting that imagination. It usually ends up in personal insults and nonsensical statements that fly the coop.
I agree that people do not understand what feminism is about.

I read from some dummies who thought feminism was about lesbanism. I also read from some dummies that feminism is aboit emasculating men.

Nothing worst than a dummy with a college degree and still can't read a dictionary properly.
Romance › Re: MRM Vs Feminism by MrsChima(f): 2:39pm On Oct 20, 2013
pc guru: Okay i think we should stick to the topic, now there are three points of View; those that support feminism but feel its not realistic and those that totally support it and those against it, so each has stated his opinion, i guess there's nothing more to that again anything else would be insults and off points.
You can't support something and then say it is not realistic. It's like saying scrotums are good but a nuisance.

You are either for it or against it. In some cases, you are neutral.

Godspikin: Experience, they say is a good teacher, I guess he learnt his mistakes and figured out what he could have done better after the divorce.
That's bullshit. There are people who have successful marriages first time around. It's all about maturity and setting ground rules before playing house or talk of marriage.

It's about knowing the person and spending quality time to see if you are compatible and can deal with deal breakers as they arise.
