I agree with SAF, there was definitely no value in this window. Plus the only players I'd like us to be interested in like, Fellaini,Hazard, Sanchez,Modric and possibly a keeper would probably be better value in the summer.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Chelsea Fans Thread : Winners of the FA Cup And League Winners 09/10 by MrTA(m): 2:19pm On Feb 01, 2011
Another one of my questions for Chelsea fans please.

Can you confirm what formation Chelsea have played most of this season and What position Malouda has been playing. In a midfield 3 or front 3. This season specifically please.

Thanks
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: FC Barcelona Fan Thread: "Més Que Un Club" by MrTA(m): 10:02am On Feb 01, 2011
Barcelona fans, Quick question to help me settle an Argument.

Do the Barcelona front 3 line up like Pedro on the left, Villa through the middle and Messi on the right? or Pedro on the right, Villa on the left and Messi through the middle?

Thanks

Chelsea and Liverpool have thrown down the gauntlet for Fergie and know Fergie loves a challenge. Bring it on.

Spurs have always been quite wealthy though. They are backed by some very wealthy and shrewd Jews.

I still cannot believe we are not adding to our midfield in this window. Atleast give whoever it is time to bed into the team for next season when we absolutely and desperately need additions to the midfield.

Hernandez, All he does is score goals and make defenders sweat.

Steekelenburg is a target to replace VDS according to our goalkeeping coach. I wouldnt mind him or Neuer or Adler.

Seems big Ed is retiring. Very disappointed to hear this. I just hope we dont have to go through a whole raft of dodgy keepers to find a replacement like when Big Pete retired.

I was really hoping he wouldnt retire at the end of the season. Just so much more confidence when he's back there. He is still such a great keeper who we should have signed straight from Juve instead of messing around with a few clowns. I hope we sign a good replacement soonish as I understand Anders Lindegard was signed as a back up and Tomasz should be out the door in the summer.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by MrTA(m): 5:02pm On Jan 26, 2011
Of course we have played better than that. Also Blackpool played very well last night in the first half they were excellent. Which is how they have played for most of the season. If you didn't think last nights match was entertaining then fair enough. We have different expectations.

Already said we were very poor in the first half. probably the worst we have played in a while but in the last 30mins of the 2nd we stepped it up and this was away from home and scored 3 good goals. Admittedly we lack that spark especially from the midfield but considering what we have, if anything we're punching above our weight as the squad is the weakest we've had for a while.

Rafael news,

Rafael will miss Saturday's FA Cup tie at Southampton after being stretchered off in Tuesday night's dramatic win at Blackpool.

The Brazilian full-back clashed heads with Marlon Harewood in the latter stages of United's 3-2 victory and was swiftly taken to a local hospital. He was not detained overnight, however, and was able to travel back with the rest of the Reds squad to Manchester.

Sir Alex Ferguson told ManUtd.com this morning: "It's a straightforward one. He has concussion and will miss Saturday's game."

The timing is unfortunate for Rafael - he also missed last weekend's match against Birmingham City due to a one-match suspension for his two yellow cards at Tottenham Hotspur.

Also we are really in need of some spark in midfield. Its getting desperate.

What i can't understand is why teams are finding it hard to lift the level of their games?
What is the heck is happening. I am more switching over to the La Liga to see good games.
I dont understand your issue. That was a very entertaining match lastnight. Even the neutrals enjoyed it? huh

And there have been lots of very entertaining matches in the Premier league this year so I dont see the issue?

We're screwed when Scholes and Giggs retire and we dont replace them well.

I sort of want us to lose our unbeaten record soon. I just want the focus to be on the title. I really couldnt care less about going unbeaten the whole season.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by MrTA(m): 10:47pm On Jan 25, 2011
It was always going to be be tough as Blackpool get in your face and actually play some very good stuff in the first half. But they had a poor 2nd half although not quite as bad as our first half. That was out worst 1st half performance since the West Ham league cup match.

I knew the 2nd half would be better because I can imagine how badly SAF destroyed them in the dressing room. You can tell they didnt want to go back at full time without the win. It was also obvious Blackpool would run out of steam as they cannot keep up that tempo for the whole 2nd half. Credit to them. They gave us a very good game.

Most importantly, I hope Rafael is ok. I heard it was a concussion so it hope it was nothing more serious than that.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by MrTA(m): 10:40am On Jan 24, 2011
I hope Rio will be fit for the Blackpool game although if not 100% I wouldnt want any risk. Blackpool have been very good this year so I just hope we keep our concentration and play to our best. We certainly look like we're coming into some sort of form lately so long may it continue. Still disappointed we're not getting an attacking midfielder in but cant complain too much. It would be great to open up a good gap on the chasing pack.

Im sure SAF would be tempted to give Rafael Fabio's Jersey to wear for the day but I think its best to give Fabio more development opportunity. He's a very good player as well obviously not as far along as Rafael in his progress.

Well Villa have been on a downwardspiral this season and are definitely in a relegation battle. They are simplay not getting enough goals from their strikers and They must have weighed up their chances of going down and his goal scoring stats are nothing to sniff at.apps vs goals.

Charlton - 44 22
Charlton -35 15
Spurs - 36 8
Spurs - 43 17
Sunderland - 40 25
Sunderland -23 11

he might not be a top 4 player, but if you factor in. English, premier league pedigree, goals record etc.and Sunderland not wanting to sell despite his transfer request, Its hard to argue against it.He is a limited players that's why it didnt work at Spurs but he will score goals, which is what Villa desperately need right now.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by MrTA(m): 9:18am On Jan 19, 2011
Very harsh on Bent. He might not be good enough for a top 4 club but his strike rate is pretty impressive. £24M makes sense to Villa if he keeps them up as relegation would cost alot more than that to Villa.

Very harsh now. Trying to extend his ban to 3 matches. undecided
