Rio and Vidic compliment each other perfectly. They can both be good backs to wall defenders. Decent on the ball although Rio is slightly better with the ball and both Commanding and Both very good in the air. Vidic obviously more rugged but I dont believe there is a CB that reads the game as well as Rio in the country.

Vidic prefers a big striker to battle ( like Drogba,Crouch etc))and would struggle against the likes of Bellamy/Agbonlahor who are all pace while Rio would fair better against Pacy defenders than the Big guys. I really wouldnt swap them for anyone.

I think I'd give my left pinky toe for us to sign Luka Modric.

I dont think it can ever be Carrick or Anderson in games like this as Carrick plays a very different role to Anderson. Ando drives the midfield forward while Carrick play the interceptor and makes longer plays from deep. Carrick was really poor first half abut he improved quite alot in the 2nd half. Shame he lacks the confidence to take the game by the scruff but he is a very good passer of the ball on his day.

Can't agree. May he was rash with d 1st yellow. But d 2nd yellow was a joke. Ekotto ran across him, he never even tried to make a challenge. In fact he was trying to get out of the way. It was a foul but not a yellow card offense at all.

I agree with that, but when you make a rash challenge for the first like he did, you make yourself a target for any ref. So i think he is more to blame for the red that not even though i thought it was a harsh 2nd yellow.

I agree, spurs were really lucky today. even with 10 men, they could have lost. and they didnt even cause or keepers any problems.

Well that was a very frustrating watch. I've never noticed our final ball to be so poor before.Really disappointed with that.

Rafael only has himself to blame for that red.  He's such a good player but he really needs to get his head right. We really miss Park and Valencia right now. On a day when Nani and Giggs are poor it would have been good to have the option.

Oh well. 1 point away to spurs is nothing to sniff at. So good to know we have the best defendes in the country though. Vidivc and Ferdinand so Beastly.

Its a huge game. And considering our less than impressive away record probably our toughtest game coming up. I do think Baba will go 4-3-3 though.

Anderson big advantage is that at the moment he is the only midfielder we have who can carry the ball forward with some pace and energy. The rest of our midfielders dont.

I agree that the midfield does need some surgery but i dont think its major surgery. We just need a player with a good turn of pace who is creative in the middle. Best example I can see is Luka Modric.

Anderson is one of those players who either players very very well or is woeful. There seems to be no middle ground with his performances.

See now, Adler want to join us but Im sure Baba will prefer Tomasz.

@Starboard, lets put this debate maturedly, please mention the games this season where compared to your opponent's, ManU's performance merited 3points but you did not get it. That is what Dipo means when he says we dropped expensive points. I dont think you have done that much.

These are all games we dominated.,lead and then somehow lost the points in the end despite being obviously the better team. You guys fail to realise that winning the title is not by "IF" or on paper. its by how many points you actually get in the league. If we havent being the best team in the league despite not losing a single game yet(including victory over you),being top by a few points with a game in hand then who has? I can tell you the answer, not the team thats has already lost 5 in the league this season.

Some things are not difficult to understand. More so If you follow a lot of Chelsea news. . It's all over the place to read.

More or less the same team? Seriously? Carllotti ahs not had the following to work with. . .Ballack, Deco, Joe, Belletti, Carvalho and a fit Lampard to work with. Every single one of those players was instrumental to our success last season. I will give anything to have every single one back. Not saying we will win the league again with them but it will give other players that much needed rest.

Well the truth about the Wilkins sacking will never be known. I never believed it was Lotti's choice. One thing has been said about 'lotti since his Milan days. He is the typical company man. He willl always fall in line with the board's demands without complaining, but What has lotti said about his sacking? nothing.It was the same at Milan and the same at Chelsea.It not like he didnt know he would not be running all aspects of the football club before coming over.He said himself at the start of the season the squad was good enough to win the league and with the explosive start everyone agreed so now he needs reinforcements?
