Probably as a result of depression, a Nigerian man has ended it all after drinking poisonous pesticide, Brainnews report.

On Thursday, a promising Nigerian man has reportedly taken his own life by drinking poisonous pesticide – sniper.

The young man has been identified as Maxwell Enudi Lucky.

Late Maxwell, from Delta State was a graduate of Zoology and Environmental Biology (ZEB), University of Calabar. He graduated December 2019 and was set to defend his project on February 2020.

According to findings made available to Brainnews, the deceased ‘Lucky’ as he was fondly addressed by many return recently from Lagos State with the said sniper that he used in killing himself. Also, he has served as a class representatives (reps) for years during his days in school (UNICAL).

Below is what Maxwell’s friend, Ogunsanya Yemisi, shared about the sad news on social media;

I saw u last week u never said u were depressed.

A member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in Asaba, Delta State, has reportedly been diagnosed of Lassa fever.

The corps member identified simply as Yinka has subsequently been taken to Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital in Edo State for adequate medical attention, a hospital source conference disclosed.

THISDAY learnt that the patient took ill at the NYSC lodge in Asaba last week and was eventually taken to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Asaba, where series of tests conducted reportedly confirmed the Lassa fever virus.

A colleague of the patient, who would not want his name disclosed, explained that: “When Yinka fell ill last Wednesday, we bought him some drugs thinking it was just common fever or malaria and would soon be okay again, but he wasn’t getting better. He was getting pale and his eyes and urine changed in colour.

“So last Friday, we decided to take him to FMC Asaba. After series of tests at the hospital, it was confirmed it was Lassa fever, so he was taken to Edo State today (yesterday).”

The Coordinator of NYSC, Delta State, Mrs. Olutayo Samuel, who confirmed the incident, said the infected corps member had been transferred to a specialist hospital in Edo State.

Nevertheless, reactions from the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ononye Mordi, and the Chief Medical Director of FMC, Dr. Victor Osiatume, were still being awaited at the time of filing this report.

There have been reports of outbreak of the dreaded Lassa fever in some parts of the country recently, but has been more than one year since such case have been officially reported in Delta State.

Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH) Calabar campus, again on resumption lost two final year students identified as Nelson of Mathematics and Statistics department and Sharon Chinyeaka Abalihi of Biological Sciences.

A man has escaped death after being beaten mercilessly as he confessed to have sexually assaulted a 4-year-old boy.

A 24-year-old gay man, simply nicknamed Bow Berlin, has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 4-year-old with hearing challenge.

The incident happened this morning at Dagbolu Idiroko, Abule, Ikorodu, Lagos, reports said.

It was gathered that the boy, whose parents are also deaf, had been spotted crying and had indicated that he was feeling pains in his anus.

On close inspection, the parents saw blood flowing out of his anus and they asked him what led to the bleeding. The victim them told them that Bow Berlin applied soap on his anus and forced his penis inside.

The suspect was subsequently arrested and he confessed to the crime. But for the timely arrival of the police, he would have been beaten to death by the angry residents of the area.

He has since been whisked to the police station while the boy was rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention.

A shocking incident that happened in Delta State, has seen a man lost his life inside a hotel room after engaging a single mother in an intense romp, Brainnews report.

The Delta Police Command has confirmed the death of a man in a hotel, in Ibusa community.

Command spokesperson, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya told journalists on Friday in Asaba that the incident occurred on Thursday in Ibusa community, near Asaba.

The police image maker said the matter was reported at the Ibusa Police Division by the hotel management.

“We received a report of the incident and our officers went to the scene and removed the corpse.

“However, we have commenced investigation into the matter,” Onovwakpoyeya said.

Sources in the community however alleged that the man died after a s-x romp with a woman.

The deceased until his death, was a 55 year-old commercial bus driver.

“The man is married and lives in Ibusa with his family.

“On the day of the incident, he went to the hotel with his lady friend, a mother of three.

“We learnt that the lady sneaked out of the hotel room and told the hotel receptionist to check on the man that he was not feeling too well.

“It was the hotel receptionist that raised alarm after she saw the man lying motionless on the bed,” the source said.

The source, who pleaded anonymity further revealed that the lady went into hiding after she escaped from the hotel but was later apprehended by officers of Ibusa Police Division. (NAN)

Prophetess Success Oni, a popular Nigerian prophetess from Warri, Delta State has died after allegedly being poisoned by junior pastors in her ministry who wanted to take over from her.

Fellow religious leaders took to Facebook to mourn Prophetess Success Oni Onwaeze, who was the General Overseer of Salvation Solution Centre of All Nations. The religious leaders claim Prophetess Onwaeze was poisoned by “pastors in her ministry in a bid to hijack the church from her.”

A message. alleged to have been sent by the Prophetess before her death, shows her revealing she’s been admitted to the hospital, and she accused her pastors of poisoning her.

Until her death, she was a single woman.
