A Gender and Reproductive Health Analyst has revealed that women who undergo FGM experience painful intercourse because the clitoris which ensures lubrication during sex has been cut off.

Dr Esther Somefun, a Gender and Reproductive Health Analyst, has stated that it was difficult for women who have undergone Female Genital Mutilation to enjoy sex.

In her explanation, Somefun described FGM, widely known as female circumcision, as the partial or total removal of female external Instruments due to non-medical reasons.

“Due to the complications of FGM, women find it difficult to enjoy sex because the external female organ, the clitoris which ensure lubrication during sex has been cut off,” Somefun told NAN on Sunday.

“These women can also experience painful sex, infertility, pelvic inflammatory infections, menstrual pains and keloids.

“FGM can also cause obstructed labour due to the narrowing of the external Instruments. Women with type two and three FGM are most at risk during child birth.”

The expert said lubricants can be used but it will not totally resolve the pain experienced during sex.

She disclosed that corrective surgery can be done to open the female Instruments to allow for easy passage of the male genitals.

“There is no risk of gynecological problems including painful menstruation, no repeated pelvic infections or problems of infertility and urinary tract infections.

“Sexual intercourse will not be painful and there is no risk of obstructed labour.”

Somefun urged those experiencing FGM complications to see a gynecologist, while advising parents and girls to join the advocacy against the act.

A young man has been heart broken after he discovered that his girlfriend is pregnant for course mate after sponsoring her education.

A Nigerian man identified as Eka has taken to twitter to narrate how his cousin got betrayed by his girlfriend after she cheated on him with another man in school.

The young man explained that his cousin, who has been sponsoring his girlfriend’s education in the university, was left heartbroken.

Eka revealed that his cousin is a fashion designer and he has been using profits gained from his tailoring business to pay for her school and other education-related stuff.

There has been a trending rumours on the internet that singer, Rema is dead.

The biggest world’s free online encyclopedia, Wikipedia, has made a devastating blunder by reporting that fast-rising Nigeria singer, Divine Ikubor also known as Rema has died.

The online platform made the error in reporting that the singer passed on at exactly 12:29 am on 1st February.

However, reports claimed that the error was on the part of one of the platform’s writers who made the error while updating the singer’s profile.

The error has since been corrected with the singer being the most searched in the last 10 hours following the blunder.

More than fifty women have stormed the Ebonyi state government house to protest against the government’s decision.

Aged women numbering over fifty on Wednesday occupied the front of the Ebonyi state government house to half-naked protesting an alleged confiscation of their mineral deposits.

According to Daily Post, the protesters stormed the front of the government house at the early hours of Wednesday to register their grievances to the governor, Chief David Umahi.

They were carrying placards with the inscriptions: “Gov. Umahi please save us because you are our last hope, we don’t need JEP-JAF(John Nwenyi) in Ndiezoke Igbegu village, John Nwenyi (JEP-JAF) our dear village is not a war zone.

“Stop bringing Army and Police to our village, Stop instigating crisis in Ndiezoke Igbegu village,” etc.

Meanwhile, the helpless villagers were accusing one John Nwenyi, who is the former monarch of the village but was dethroned by the former governor of Ebonyi state.

Nwenyi is currently serving as a member of the state elders council.

The leader of the protesters, Dr. Christian Nwagbaga who spoke to journalists while chanting warlike songs said “we have a solid mineral deposits in our village, and it was discovered since 2014. We have somebody by name John Nwenyi who is a former Eze of igbegu.

“We have a common boundary with them but since we discovered this mineral deposits in our village, Nwenyi never allowed us to rest. Since 2015, Nwenyi wants to mine the place but we told him no. He brought white men with police and loaded them in his car and forced himself into the place.

“He tried to survey the place by force. But after that, we told him that enough is enough and that he should not try to come here again. We asked him, are you surveying the place for what? Is it on our own consent or is the governor away of it?

“We told him that there is a procedure for mining which we know that he has not followed. We wrote a letter to the commissioner of police and commissioner for solid mineral and copied the governor. But he came with a bulldozer to enter the place to start work by force. But we succeeded in stopping him on the way.

“He came again three days ago with police and Army loaded in his cars to force himself again into the site. He has been threatening the entire village. We decided to come here and protest to the governor to come and save us from this situation” he stated.

The commissioner for internal security, border peace and conflict resolution, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, while addressing the protesters assured them of the governor’s preparedness to stop Nwenyi from encroaching into their land.

“This war is not your war. And the condition we are seeing you people are not good, especially the way this women dressed. It is not acceptable by the government.

“From today onward, that man will not enter that place again. It is an assurance from the governor. He is not happy that you people are coming at this condition. You will be satisfied the way government will handle this matter,” he stated.

Meanwhile, all efforts to reach the former monarch, John Nwenyi at the time of filing this report failed as his phone numbers including that of his son were switched off.

A Church in Brazil has launched a project to build houses for its poor and homeless members using part of tithes and offerings paid into the church.

The Assemblies of God church at Lagoinha in Araruama, a municipality in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has constructed and delivered dozens of houses to its members, most of them women and jobless.

Fábio Mendonza, the pastor of the church said: “We use part of the church’s tithe and offering for the project. It is not fair to be living big when several members of the church are living in abject poverty.”

“The word of God says there will always be the poor amongst you; do not forget them, Deut. 15:11.”

According to the pastor, they also rely on competence from church members who are architects, bricklayers, painters and carpenters, who are involved in the projects as volunteers.
