Asuokaa: HOW OLD IS NIGERIA....JUST LET DO SOME ARITHMETICS
Long before 1500 much of modern-Nigeria was divided into states identified with contemporary ethnic groups. These early states included the Yoruba kingdoms, the Igbo Kingdom of Nri, the Benin Kingdom, the Hausa cities, and Nupe. Additionally numerous small states to the west and south of Lake Chad were absorbed or displaced in the course of the expansion of Kanem, which was centered to the northeast of Lake Chad. Bornu, initially the western province of Kanem, became independent in the late 14th century. Other states probably existed but the absence of archaeological data prevents accurate dating. In the south, the earliest Edo state was Igodomigodo which emerged in 900 AD. Despite its relatively small size geographically it is considered the cradle of Edo culture.

Asuokaa: wait u doing all this work for anoda man land...JUST CANT WAIT FOR DEM TO ATTACK YOU... I was born and bred in South Africa by Nigerian father who is now a naturalized citizen of SA, arrived on the shores of this country with his family when he was just a young boy. He and siblings, some of whom were born in SA are no longer seen as foreigners because they are fluent in the local SA languages and their last born struggles a lot with Igbo. |

Asuokaa: TRUE OR FALSE...SA BLACKS WILL ALWAYS REMAIN A SLAVE TO THEIR WHITE LORDS The same man once said " keep your Britain and let me keep my Zimbabwe" The message is clear, South Africans had it enough about foreigners who do not have proper documentation and continue to be used as drug peddlers. Their wrong part is to generalise innocent Africans at large as criminals and drug dealers. Moreover, to raise their hands and kill those innocent foreigners is indeed uncalled for and unfortunate. So, now South Africans want to keep their SA that was once free of drugs and scams. It is however not a lie that many stranded African brothers in SA are being used to sell drugs to our young children. There is one Nigerian, that I have warned time without numbers to refrain from peddling drugs and sell it to school children. I live very close by the school and this man does not want to listen and does it with impunity. I told him that every dog has its own day. I thank you. |

agaugust: .
@Asuokaa has another two sources contained in his own source which are NOT blogs.
Same way you Southies have been posting some sources claiming that Soviets fought in Angola. The guy has opened up a new issue and controversy on this topic and you cannot just dismiss his case, he has sources :
The fact that as many as 5,000 Nigerian troops fought in Angola around 1976-77 may be the most widely-unknown fact in the annals of Nigeria’s very long history of foreign military operations. In the aftermath of January 1976 OAU summit where General Murtala Muhammed in his timeless “AFRICA HAS COME OF AGE” outing decisively swung the support of the OAU and Africa in favour of the MPLA regime, to the chagrin of their UNITA and FNLA competitors, the FMG backed up the new MPLA government with N13.5m(US$20m) and sent a squadron of MiG-17 jet fighters in support. It has now emerged that as many as 5,000 Nigerian troops were deployed to Angola and that they saw action in various theatres across the then war-blighted country. Writing in an article entitled “MOSCOW’S NEXT TARGET IN AFRICA;Paying the Price for Angola“, Robert Moss clearly indicates that …. QUOTE: “The Nigerians are said to be heavily involved in Angola. Western intelligence sources report that Nigerian troops were present at battalion strength when the MPLA and the Cubans pushed south last year. According to UNITA sources in Paris, the Nigerian strength has since been reinforced.
UNITA sources have tapes of radio intercepts showing that at least 5,000 Nigerian troops have been deployed in Angola. They are operating as far south as Mocamedes, and are also based in Lobito, Luanda and the eastern diamond mining town of Henrique de Carvalho.
UNITA claims to have intercepted radio communications in English (the common language between the Nigerians, the Cubans and the MPLA), in the Ibo, Hausa and Yoruba dialects, and in a form of pidgin Creole…..An intriguing sidelight is that UNITA also claims that a British shipping line played a key role in ferrying Nigerian troops and military supplies to Angola.
Nigeria, rich in oil and boasting an army of some 210,000 men, can clearly afford to be more than rhetorical in its backing for the guerrilla movements of southern Africa.” END OF QUOTE Corroborating this report, the world-renowned photo-agency GETTY IMAGES in an archival photo dated 1 January 1977 actually bears a caption which read as follows; QUOTE: “Caption: 1977: An Angolan soldier crawls beneath barbed wire trenches during training. Dr Jonas Savimbi and his UNITA movement is doing well in its fight against the ruling MPLA (Movement For The Liberation Of Angola), and its Cuban allies. UNITA claims to control at least half of Angola. In addition to the Cuban forces, Western intelligence sources report that at least 5000 Nigerian troops are also deployed in Angola, on the side of the MPLA. (Photo by Keystone/Getty Images). Date created: 01 Jan 1977 “. END OF QUOTE http://www.rhodesia.nl/moss4.htm http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/3336214/Hulton-Archive .
The above source was written in 1977 and the latter took information from the former. So those are just the same source. |

Asuokaa: Bros wait shey na we dey bear rhodesia...is that not a southern african name...kai...lol...if I open the wars we have fought bro...ull be amazed am from a military background...my dad was an officer before his death in febuary...brigadier general...there are some courses dey say dey go for..it is not course at all they went to fight...don't ever underestimate the Nigerian Military....SA r angry because in wars of the world there name no be reference point Lol...almost all the 21st century war has Nigeria in it...
Google is there to knw if am lying or not.... The writer (who appears to be a white man) mistaken the foreign soldiers in Angola after the withdrawal of SADF as Nigerian troops, merely because they spoke something that sound like pidgin. There is no any Nigerian source that support that statement. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 6:21am On Apr 16, 2015 |
agaugust: Weaker forces like Namibian , Mozambican, and ANC freedom fighters were challenging South Africa then and SADF was importing mercenaries from all over the world to survive.
Those years were the days Nigerian navy had the most powerful warship in Africa and NAF had 100 jet fighter aircraft plus an army with 500 anti-aircraft missiles.
South Africa would have been roasted alive . SA never used mercenaries in any war. You just only wish because your military has been recruiters of soldiers of fortune ever since its existence. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 6:06am On Apr 16, 2015 |
agaugust: I said MiG-23 jet, are you so dumb?
The MiG-21 you shot down are old versions flown by Cuba.
Nigeria had in 1977, the latest MiG-21 'J' version with latest RP-22 radar and the latest K-13M missiles, then Nigerian pilots are far better than Cubans.
South Africa does not have 500,000 troops as you keep claiming on this thread.
Even giant Nigeria in Biafra war could not raise more than 250,000 troops. You keep telling lies about an imaginary SADF of half a million troops, you think your country is like China ?
10,000 Nigerian commandos landed on South African coast will lead to uprising by the millions of blacks in South Africa, we will give them ship loads of AK-47 and RPG, then you will see worse than Boko Haram inside South Africa, the apartheid government will be roasted at home, confusion, chaos, tears and blood on homesoil will bring down a government that 90% of the population hated so much.
You don't know how difficult it is to fight war on homesoil because South Africa has never experienced that advanced level of combat before
PHOTO : NNS OBUMA, 1970s NIGERIAN NAVY FRIGATE WITH SPECIAL ANTI-SUBMARINE CAPABILITIES . How do you know that Nigerian pilots were better than Cuban pilots then if they were never engaged in any air combat? Nigeria used mercenary pilots throughout the Biafra war. Agaugust is dreaming as usual. |

Abeg learn to shoot straight! Yet SA mercenaries have taught those gallant NA soldiers to carry guns, have groomed them and nurtured their bravery to fight. They have led and guide them to victory. They deserve credit. |

agaugust: Nope, you feel free to contact the German embassy and ask for copy of the press release to prove your claims.....you are the ones saying there is a German embassy report, so show us.
Until then, both navies are suspect . Patches is not Thomas and so the onus rest upon you to look out for the copy of the press release. We as South Africans we trust that our navy couldn't have mistakenly have shot at those fishermen due to the familiarity of the area. They master the place like the palm of their hands. |

agaugust: Dude, this is why people don't believe whatever you Southies say, too many lies.
I have posted over 20 times on this forum that Cuban MiG-23 jets shot down South African Mirage jets and your air force ran away completely from the air war, thus Cuba won ! Cuban boys disgraced SAAF in the air war .
Cuban teenage pilots with zero war experience sh.ot down 5 South African aircraft including SAAF Mirage jets in air to air dogfights....
"On 27 September 1987 Cuban Major Albert Ley Rivas and Lieutenant Chao Gondin in MiG-23MLs engaged two Mirage F-1CZs of the SAAF's 3rd Squadron and fired three R-60 ("AA-8 Aphid" IR-homing) missiles. According to them, one F-1CZ exploded upon impact by an R-60 and crashed in enemy territory, and the other retired to Namibia after being struck by a second missile."
http://www.laahs.com/content/12-The-Cuban-MiGs/view/5
. Cuba lost many MIG 21&23s to the extend that soviet pilots helped them. Fact!!! |

agaugust: Yes, because the South African press is now blaming the Germans. The initial reports from inside South Africa blamed South Africa, I did not write those news reports, your own countrymen did it at News24 media. So it's now a tie on both navies. The press was read with the heading SA Navy shot blah blah blah for the purpose of sensationalism to attract attention. However, when you read the details there was uncertainty as to who fired the shot and investigation was still to be conducted. The press does not blame the Germans they merely publish the findings of the investigation. SAN is very familiar with that place and they couldn't carelessly have shot at fishermen boats. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 12:44pm On Apr 15, 2015 |
agaugust: South Africa is known worldwide for telling lies at random.
I don't care about sentiment of "How will Germany feel is=f we lied against them". The Germans don't care about your struggle for image.
The news report is NOT from German embassy press release, it is news on Defenseweb, a private magazine claiming it was sourced from German embassy, yet we searched the whole internet and CANNOT find any such press report from German embassy.
Proof needed, until then....BOTH NAVIES ARE SUSPECT FOR THAT SH.OOTING INCIDENT ! . Investigation was conducted and it was found to be a German warship whose captain also never denied. Why do you find it hard to take the facts? Is it because you always wish SANDF to be at fault? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 12:40pm On Apr 15, 2015 |
jln115: "I need proof from German navy because South Africa could just be telling lies against the Germans on the navy shooting/misfire issue." What? The German embassy not enough proof? Don't you think if we were telling lies and accusing the German Navy of a rather serious offence a country like Germany wouldnt be quick to deny and disprove those accusations? The German embassy confirmed it, so we don't know what does agaugust want. kikikikiki… |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 12:15pm On Apr 15, 2015 |
agaugust: Nope, you are the kid here.
Actually you are the resident liar and deceiver here.
I asked for MiG-23 but you posted MiG-21 jet, are they the same ?
SAAF completely withdrew from the air to air engagements because Cuba was s.hooting down South African Mirage jets like insecticide kills houseflies using the MNiG-23 jets.
South Africa LOST the air war and Cuba won ! Forever in history ! . All the records says Cuba lost in air combat. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 12:10pm On Apr 15, 2015 |
agaugust: SAAF shot down MiG-21 NOT MiG-23 jets, go back and read my posts. Even @Patches tried to play that game of deception here but I have forced him to admit the truth.
You see South Africa telling lies against Cuba, that's why I said I need proof from German navy because South Africa could just be telling lies against the Germans on the navy shooting/misfire issue.
When a country has the habit of telling lies so much, outsiders will always doubt what you say unless you have 100% proof.
You South Africans have built a permanent image of falsehood around yourselves. Crime does not pay. You lose all credibility . Does it matter? those were only two dogfights that took place in Angola which SADF both won. MIG 23 were downed through ground fire. |

There is NO RECORD of SAAF jet pilots sho.oting down any MiG-23 jet of Cuba in air to air combat, South Africa was d.emolished by Cuba in air to air combat
