If we can educate the Muslim masses, I believe we can achieve peace. I don't see Islam as being the problem, I see its manipulation for wrongful use by power-hungry elites as the problem. Take away those elites, and you can educate the people. Educate the people, and there'll probably be no problem But thats what I think. |
Well if they possess so much political power and leverage, its probably going to be a long time before we can pry the power out of their hands. |

Another reason why GEJ should be president , I believe ![]() |
That kinda money can fix a whole buncha roads in 9ja, |
But they are sharing the money with the north Isn't that why the Niger Delta people are so pissed? |
Becomrich, so what is it that you want this fellow to do ![]() ?Bcuz i dey confuse |
One second i read that they're backing GEJ, now this ferari90 guy dey tell me say they are with the north. Kai who be ferari90 anyway! IDENTIFY URSELF!!!!! |
These northern leaders keep on talking and talking and talking Its hurting my ears!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
@chiketee Nah mehn, I think you got it wrong. The bible says that when someone slaps you, you should 'turn the other cheek'. Islam however, says that while you shouldn't start stuff, you shouldn't take anything either. The problem with that is that individuals will take advantage of some muslims' illiteracy by saying that 'so and so has wronged us, so it is time to exact revenge!' and, because of that, you're gonna have hundreds of senseless almajiris going on rampages all across the place. Now what we should focus on in Nigeria is the education of the Northern young, to prevent their manipulation and eventual capitulation to extremist forces that would like to see the downfall of the nation. |
I hope that the military goes up north to capture, trial, jail and execute those senseless almajiris. Islam is not a bad religion, but those imbeciles are reaaally making it look like one. |
This might piss some people off, but, I think that Seun should get some more ads on nairaland. He'll get money, and then the NL community can have a monthly vote on what some portion of the money will go to, in relation to Nigeria's development, of course. |
At least the EFCC is doing something, ![]() |
Na fake picture be dis. There are some clay pots right above the bus, look very closely. |
This is confusing! How did a thread about Innoson's newfound success boil down to tribalist hate speech ![]() ?? |
I think that its kinda simple. During all the Yar'adua drama, nobody came out to support Oga Joe because they thought the north wouldn't allow him to take power, when they saw that he took power, they realized that they had missed an opportunity to make money, as by supporting Jonathan, they would have been able to join his 'group', enter a cabinet and begin hoarding the money. Now that the elections are coming, they think that if they support Jonathan now, they might be able to join his next cabinet and hoard themselves some money. I just hope that he realizes this, runs, wins, and forgets these fake supporters. |
It is NYCthat is surprising me. Over ONE TRILLION USDs!!!!!!!. Omo mehn, we have a whole lotta catching up to do. I mean Brazil's doing better than we are |
And no more sucky recording equipment! You would think that after 'Lagos Party' and the video quality people would actually start thinking about buying proper cameras, but no! Kai my friends have 1080p pocket cameras that only cost about $120. |
FINALLY, I've been waiting for this for 15 years, and I'm only 14, |
IBB no go succeed at all for this election. Nigerians simply dont trust him and he doesn't have the political leverage with which he can bribe Jega's INEC. |
Make we elect a young man who will fire all the old guys and out some fresh blood in the Nigerian Gov't. You dont know how far that'll go towards alleviating corruption in Nigeria |
How can there be teachers lookin for jobs when there are a shortage of teachers in schools ?If they are looking for jobs then maybe they arent all that good, What I'm saying is that the youth in Nigeria deserves the best education available, as it is, basically, the only way to the country's success. |
There are two main problems in Nigeria, namely our people and our politicians. Nigerians nag a lot. They can nag about almost anything. Because of their excessive complaining, they begin looking for solutions to non-existant problems. Igbos are a prime example. Poorer Igbo people still continue to complain about their people as a marginalized nation within Nigeria, convinced that Biafra is the only solution to their problems. The truth is that the problems Igbos see are present nationwide. Igbos believe that they are poor because the west and north rob them of their money and resources, when, in fact, many Northerners find themselves in situations infinitely worse than those Igbos can find themselves in. The reason that Nigerians are poor is our politicians. After Murtala Moh'd decided to fire older politicians, who discovered that upon their retirement, they received very little through pension money, the next generation of politicians and military men decided that the only way to get enough 'bread' to feed themselves was through hoarding as much money as they could when they would rise to power. They did not understand the consequences that would come about as a result of their greed, and have become much too used to the bread to stop their corruption now. Nigeria's only hope lies not in its division, but in power and education. What we need is for PHCN to become efficient, or to be sold to a private business. If parts of the company are sold to different companies, those companies will compete for adoption and acceptance, and, quite quickly, will become much more efficient than PHCN. We should also educate our people so that the next generations never repeat the mistakes made by the current stock of politicians. |
There is no chance of a military coup in modern Nigeria. Back then, when there were military coups every day and night, the officers that led the coups were usually quite cunning. Now we have nobody influential enough to lead a military coup in our military. Nigeria as a state is making progress, but its people need to begin to understand that military rule is over and done with, and that violence only leads to more violence. What the gov't should do is make education all the way to the end of the secondary level mandatory and increase the availability and quality of Nigeria's tertiary institutions. If it means importing teachers from abroad, DO IT. The immense benefits'll outweigh the immediate problem of our spending externally. And once the youth is educated, you can bet than Nigeria'll be well on the path to 'the promised land'. |
http://www.rethinknigeria.com It appears that the incumbent is seeking another term, |
@leahdea Do you have any sense at all? You're coming to a Nigerian forum to boast Cameroon's apparent superiority and demean Nigerians. Please do something meaningful with your time now. If you want to go and talk about Cameroon, make your own site!!!! Its like you're prepared to go into somebody's house just to anger them. What you're proving is that Cameroonians are ill-mannered, claiming property that is not theirs and acting disrespectful all over the place. You didn't even respond to what those three said about Cameroon, so you admit it, eh? Yaounde's a slum and Cameroon's a massive chunk of desert surrounded by rainforest. I have to admit it, you guys sure are unlucky. If Nigeria decides to go to war with Cameroon, believe me, we will collect land way past Bakassi. Ill be surprised if Cameroon is not wiped off the map completely. |
