Computer science is not hard...wow....I guess you are not aware that every computer scientist is a mathematician..we do most of the analysis courses in maths plus sizable statistics courses...Have you heard of compiler construction? That shit is just like quantum physics.. What about algorithms? A situation where you don't know what you are doing...programming is just one aspect of computing..
Dude. Calm down. I've got a masters in computer science. I have a bachelors in physics. So I've experienced both worlds. Peace.

It cost me 20 bucks to cut my hair. It would cost you nothing less than 100 bucks to have your hair done except you need a cap. I don't have problem with girls, the situation is getting critical. Well to marry for US na $100. So any Tom dick can afford that.

It's sufferness to weave you alone. I don't want to know if you love it o not. When I mean weave, I mean using all those bought hairs to add to theirs. I usually tell my GF she should thank God her peeps are good, if not she go dey do thesame package

Ori ya to si ori-
No offence taken. I for one cannot weave my hair myself and its because I don't know how to do it plus its also hard and time wasting. I also would not condemn anybody doing it themselves. Weaving hair yourself is a personal choice.

The bolded part is what I don't understand.

We will be in same situation dear, me sef na F-1. As a man I can beat my way around it. But seriously, half of the girls here complain about back ache always cos they weave their hairs alone. Companies are reluctant filing H1B visa.

First off, I don marry. grin grin. Second, nothing bad about weaving hair yourself, haba. Me sef dey watch youtube videos about styling hair, especially when I want to give my hair a break from weaves and braids. As per companies not wanting to file H1B, well, it differs and it's just pure luck. Also certain majors have more advantage over others. I know a female Nairalander here that her company filed H1B for her straight after she got her job. I know another female Nairalander that also got H1 filed too.

The trick is to start looking for a job way before you even dream of graduating. If I tell you how many jobs I applied to before I eventually got one, you'll sincerely not believe. Leave girls alone o. Lol

No computer science? Only programming is tougher than all the courses combined..
Because the way they teach programming courses in Nigerian schools make it seem like a big deal. Do programming courses in American colleges and I bet it with you, it's gonna be one of your best courses. Computer Science is not hard.... at least unlike the physical sciences.

I rep applied chemistry. Buh trust me physics NA die, those physics courses I took in my 2nd year was like chewing paracetamol and chloroquine at the same time without water.
Chemistry is not easy either immediately you begin spectroscopy, chemical kinetics, statiscal thermodynamics (studied only in OAU and LAUTECH), crystal structures, electrophoresis, heterocyclic structures(reaction and preparation of naphthalenes, anthracenes, harwoth synthesis.)blah blah blah. All NA die hard. Still on it tho.
I guess you did Physics 201 in Lautech then grin grin grin

I strongly disagree with this line among others. Only a quite few organizations are ready to sponsor your PR. The more reason why at the mention of F1 status during most job interviews... you're done.
Leave him. He will learn. You know how many corporations shut shut me down immediately they heard I'm on F-1? Lmao. I had an interview with Charles Schwab, the interview was going on smothly until the lady asked what my status was. Immediately I said F-1 she just said "We apologize... bla bla bla" and cut the line oo. Did not even give me time to explain. I emailed her back, but maybe she will reply me tomorrow sha.

Another one, I have had like 4 interviews with them, but when the recruiter kept talking about visa status, visa status, I knew I was done for. They kept me hanging for like 2 months before they sent me the rejection email. After I had filled form for background check o. Countless of interviews like that.

Anyways, experience is the best teacher. cheesy How are you jare?

Good day,
Your such a funny malam. Did you even read what me and the young man were discussing? I was making an instance for him and you just made a conclusion. What do you know about the US?.wake up. CA is more expensive than TX quote me anywhere. Why most nigerians this days don't get green card is due to their ways abroad, when they indulge in all sort of things just to get citizenship or PR. When you study hard and make yourself outstanding, whatelse can stop you from getting PR? When they know your capabilities, sure they will sponsor you for your GC.
I read what you wrote very well. I only suggested you remove your rose colored glasses before you come here. You choice. Bye.

Yeah they pay higher. But not much difference. But what is the difference when you work 1 full month and earn $2000 then you pay $1000 + for studio, pay utility bills and you are left with maybe less or $500-700. You aren't saving and it is not wise. But in a place like texas, you work and earn $2000 or let me say $1500 monthly, you pay $500 for a good looking self contained apartment monthly.pay your utility bills, save the rest .and you have other business opportunities in TX compared to CA that is chilling place
I just had to log in to post this. Where are you getting these ridiculous figures from? The internet? Do you live in CA? If you don't, then I don't think you would know anything about the pay structure and housing situation in California. Stop making up figures please.

And who told you it's easy to get a green card in Texas? Lol. I laugh. You better remove your rose colored glasses and set realistic expectations for yourself before you get to the US. Ask people living in Houston and Texas about how many of them have gotten green cards and how easy it is to get jobs.

Evening house, I have some buddies that we applied to this school; California University of Management and Sciences (Calums) for our MBA Business Administration. We were admitted but have not gotten our visas despite that we have applied 3time 2time 1time respectively. Please I really wanna know what is wrong. Please kindly help check if this school is among those US school that have REG FLAG. This school has a small students body and don't require TOEFL for admission. I heard some students do apply to schools, get admission and visa and they run once they landed in USA. I'm a genuine students, I just wanna know if this is what is really affecting my chance of getting visa with this Calums school. Thanks
Strictly my opinion (I might be wrong).... But I will suggest you switch schools.

CALUMS is a one building university in Anaheim, just a step above VIU, Sillicon Valley, Everest and the rest. I guess because it had the name California University gives it some kind of leverage but it's still a private, for profit university. Why waste time and money?

Like I said, this is my own opinion. Someone might have a counter opinion. Peace.

Excellent then cause that always bothered me. I get free trolleys in Houston but when I get home then I have to pay.

One question, was your final destination LAX or were you transitioning through?
Lol. I usually used to hijack trolleys left alone in the arrivals in the several airports I've been to as well. It was a pleasant surprise when we saw the free trolleys cos we had at like 9 pieces of luggage ranging in size.

And yea, LAX was final destination

Trolley is not free at LAX, you found one that hasn't been picked up by the porters.

There's a line by baggage claim where you have to use a credit card to release one.

http://millionmilesecrets.com/2014/07/16/cheap-luggage-cart-airport/
It apparently changed. I passed through Tom Bradley International arrivals at LAX just this week and trolleys was free and for everybody at arrivals. There was even a free sign around it, and it's not just one of it, but more than a 100. It's true about departures tho, I think we had to cough out $5 or $10

the name of the community college and state?

I do not think so. Even USCIS website stated clearly that B2 visa can be changed to f1 provided the conditions are met.....
Besides, I wonder why she will stress herself coming back to Nigeria with a baby for the sake of changing a visa to f1, something that can be done right in the US, provided all conditions are satisfied.
Check very well on USCIS website, u will see where it is stated that a visitor visa can be changed to student visa right there in the US.
However, my wife wasn't travelling to the US for the first time. It was her third trip now, and she never over stayed in any of her trips.
I also know thousands of illegal immigrants who are in the US for years, a lot of illegal immigrants families without papers, and they are living averagely much better than us in Nigeria. They drive around right in the US, they work ( even without papers) and their kids even attends schools. They even rent houses from private home owners while some shares apartment.
US are not that keen on looking for who are legal or illegal immigrants. So far u stay out of trouble.
Even, the VO"s that are issuing visas knows many people /families who are issued visas won't come back to nigeria. I have a friend who relocated to the US few months ago in Texas and he earns 10$/hour tax free. So this thing is not as hard as people are taking it here. Many of you that are contributing here went to the US to study, and knowing within u that even after your studies, u won't return home, many of u will look for a way to manouver and change status and eventually acquire the GreenCard, otherwise, why don't u all stay back home and do your Masters programme here in Nigeria. We got good universities here too.
In summary, US is a land of opportunities, and u can be sure that even if u re there, u might not be rich, but u will be comfortable, u can rent a house, drive a car (in some states) and earn as little as 500 dollars a week.
Above is my view......let's not see US as if its heaven where one cant find its ways.
You knew all these, yet you still came on here to ask for advise? I guess you were not prepared to hear the answers we gave you. Yea, the kids will go to school until college when they're asked to either produce a green card, US passport or F-1 visa.

Anyways, your family your choice. Goodluck sir.

I just got to know that I can join this forum for free after being a silent reader for a while.
Please I have a concern and I want u to help me with a candid advice.
My wife and baby went to the US for Christmas in December but they have decided to stay and not to return back to Nigeria. They were stamped in for 6 months at the POE.
However, I have a US visa too which will expire in March this year, I have only travelled to the US once in 2014 when I spent just 10 days there and I don't really like to visit the US
Now that my wife and kid decide to overstay, and I intend to renew my visa via dropbox which will expire in March this year, wont I be likely denied a renewal. As at March which my visa will expire they will still be in the US, won't it hinder my chances of renewal ?
Thanks
I apologize in advance of my response to you seems harsh, no harm intended but that's just the way I see it.

Okay, back to your post. You don't really like the US but your wife and kid decided to overstay? How possible is that? First off, overstaying a visa is hard enough for an individual, not to talk of an individual with a very small kid. How do you intend to provide for their daily needs? Jobs are hard enough to come by for documented immigrants, not to talk of an overstayer..... An overstayer with a kid.

Okay, If she were to get a job. Where does she keep the kid when she's at work? You realize how much sitters or daycares costs And if she were to figure that part out, the biggest questions is how do they legalize their stay. She can't go to school as an overstayer, which means she doesn't have a chance of getting an H visa sponsored and subsequently a green card. The surest route for her and the baby is getting married and filling a green card petition for her and the baby via the husband she marries. Will you be cool with it if your wife divorces you, all in the name of getting a green card? Have you asked yourself "What if she loves the new man more than me and decides to stay put?" We women can be funny like that.

Lastly, as Imperiouxx stated, once the overstay is official, your chances of getting a visa renewed is second to none. Which means you can't go see them in the US and they can't come see you as they wont be able to enter the US once they have exited. Are you prepared not to see your family for the longest time?

Think about that well, and form your decisions well. Staying in the US is not that great. In fact, many aspects of the US is overhyped. An American Dream is not worth tearing your family apart for. All the best in everything, my brother. And happy new year.
