Recall that Adeherself recently regained her freedom from The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), after she was arrested for her involvement in internet fraud.

Mompha who posted the video on his official Instagram story, wrote that it was nice to see her. In the video, Adeherself excitedly hugged Mompha while on her knees.

The video was followed by criticism, and Mompha has now reacted.

A Connecticut man decapitated his landlord with a sword after being told he had to move out because of overdue rent, Hartford police say.
The Hartford Police Department responded to a 911 call Saturday morning from the landlord, Victor King, who said that his roommate Jerry Thompson, 42, had been "waving a sword at him in a threatening and terrorizing manner" amid a rent dispute, according to an arrest warrant filed by Hartford detectives.
King gave officers Thompson's cell phone number, according to the warrant. It did not say if police spoke to Thompson Saturday.

The next day, police received calls from a neighbor and then a separate friend of King's who were concerned about his safety, the warrant said.

Police entered the residence Sunday afternoon to find a grisly crime scene and King's body "covered by numerous articles of bedding" on the floor, according to the warrant.
A medical examiner investigator's preliminary observations suggested King's injuries were consistent with a large edged weapon, noting "lacerations to the landlord's right arm, upper chest and across the neck causing decapitation."

Surveillance video also caught a male exiting a white Jeep, carrying a "long skinny white object in his right hand," walking into the residence Saturday afternoon, and exiting about 30 minutes later with the same object, the warrant said.

When questioned by police, Thompson refused to speak but wrote on a sheet of paper that the "paper in glove compart in Jeep is all you need," the detectives said.
Once a search warrant was obtained, police found paperwork suggesting Thompson believed he was a "sovereign citizen," or an individual who believes he is not subject to any statutes and interprets the laws in their own way, the detectives wrote.
The amount of rent owed and Thompson's employment status were not known.
The victim's cousin Jim Banks told the Hartford Courant King "was one of the good guys."

"One that would never hurt a soul. One that would always reach out and help others. He was pleasant as can be. Always seemed to be happy. He was just a joy to be around."
King was an accomplished bridge player as well, Banks noted.
"He was very good at it. Very good at teaching others to play it. Just a kind and gentle person whose first love was bridge," he told the Courant.
Shortly after Thompson was formally charged with murder, detectives and members of the Hartford Police Dive Team recovered the suspected murder weapon about 10 miles away in the Farmington River, department spokesman Lt. Paul Cicero told CNN.
Cicero said King was Thompson's landlord. He said police found their rental agreement during the investigation.

At his arraignment Tuesday in Hartford Superior Court, Thompson refused to speak with a public defender so he was not assigned one, according to an audio recording of the proceeding.
He was detained in lieu of a $2 million bond before his next court appearance on August 18, according to the recording and state department of corrections.

Donald Trump Jr., the president’s oldest son and campaign surrogate, had his Twitter account temporarily suspended on Tuesday after posting a misleading video about the antimalarial hydroxychloroquine and other Covid-19 claims in what Twitter is calling a “temporary lockout,” according to multiple reports.

Trump Jr’s account will be suspended for 12 hours, according to Vice News, during which he’ll be unable to post new tweets, or like or retweet other messages.

A Twitter spokesperson told Vice News that this was “not a suspension,” and instead a “temporary lockout” until his tweet containing the video espousing misleading Covid-19 claims is deleted.

Andy Surabian, a GOP strategist and spokesman for Trump Jr. who broke the news on Twitter, said the move is “further proof that Big Tech is intent on killing free expression online” in an email to Forbes.

The tweet that triggered the temporary suspension contained a video that played down the effectiveness of masks and stay-at-home orders and stated the the virus has a “cure called hydroxychloroquine, zinc, and Zithromax.”

Journalist Kiki Mordi and Stand to end Rape has been in the eye of the storm since Seyitan who had earlier accused Singer Dbanj of rape dropped all allegations.

It had become clearer even after Seyitan released a statement that further highlighted how some individuals had been trying to manipulate the story to a particular outcome.

Kiki Mordi appears to be a player in this regard and she has released a phone conversation with Sega in an attempt to change the narrative and clear her name.

Babatunde Olusola, an orphan and a final year student of Chemical Engineering of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State who was arrested on orders of former President Goodluck Jonathan for creating a parody Twitter account in his name, has allegedly been denied access to his lawyer.

Human rights lawyer, Tope Akinyode who made the allegation said operatives of the Nigeria Police Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCIID), Abuja, denied him access to the detained student. Akinyode said; “Twice, I was denied access to see Olusola last week. I was told the IPO (Investigating Police Officer) has to give his approval before I see him. There’s no law that says a lawyer must obtain an IPO’s permit before he sees his client. This disgusting trend must stop. We will challenge it.“The last time I saw him, he told me he was sick and he had symptoms of coronavirus. The fear was actually high because a fellow inmate, a Chinese by name, Mr Wan was confirmed positive
“But apart from that, he may also have had some other underlying health issues because he told me that after he was taken from Ogbomoso to Ibadan, he slept on urine at the SARS office in Ibadan. That was part of the harsh conditions he underwent.”

The student was charged for impersonation and contravening the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc) Act of 2015. His bail was fixed at N500,000 while a civil servant of not less than level 15 is expected to stand as his surety. It was further gathered that despite perfecting his bail conditions, the student's surety was allegedly yet to be verified by government officials after more than one week.

Akinyode averred that it was disturbing that his client's release was being stalled by the police for no reason.

Nigerian singer, Seunfunmi Stephen, has shared the sad story of how her husband, Patrick Stephen, died during a crossfire between armed robbers and police officers in Lagos state.
Patrick, a graduate of Marine Science from the University of Lagos, was killed by a stray bullet from armed robbers who were trying to hijack a bullion van loaded with money in the Ajah area in Lagos on Friday, July 10. He lost a lot of blood and was pronounced dead at the hospital where he was rushed to.

He was buried on Friday, July 24.

In a post shared on Instagram, Seufunmi who is expecting their third child, shared details of how she rushed to the hospital where he was first taken to and how she watched him die slowly. ''That friday started out great, my husband had gone out in the morning and promised he'd be back at 12 noon.

I had started getting a little upset when i didn't see him because it was 3pm when i checked the time and a package of small chops i ordered as a surprise for him had just been delivered. My neighbor came to knock on my door and told me not to panic that my husband was at doreen hospital in Ajah and i was needed there.

I prayed and my heart wouldn't stop beating, I called his number and someone else picked the phone. I told the person I wanted to speak to my husband and she sad "No, just come now". There was no one with me at home so i hurriedly dressed the kids and we left for Doreen. I walked into the hospital and called Patrick's number again and the same person told me madam come outside.

Oh... what i saw...was the most horrible sight.

My husband,my bestfriend was outside the hospital gate,inside a keke NAPEP with a drip on him and a bandage on his head, bleeding fom his head and nose. I screamed "babe is this you" My son started crying. My daughter kept saying "mommy i want to meet daddy".

They handed me his phone and wallet. I saw the other victims. I saw the intestines of the guy who was shot in the stomach right next to my husband's angled body with his eyes slightly open and his breath laboured, he was in great pain ,unresponsive as I called out to him. I was like a crazy person holding 2 kids. I asked how come no one was helping him and was told they were making arrangements to take them to the general hospital in Marina. I was directed to a policeman to prevail on him to hurry up the process. I walked up to him, he was on the phone and someone said he was trying to get funds fron the bank.


I saw the man who was shot in the leg sitting on the floor and holding his own drip. My mind in a haze as people kept telling me what to do, madam hold your children, madam you no get family, madam call somebody. Apparently police escorts were transporting money that belonged to WEMA bank and were attacked by armed robbers on ogombo road. The keke napep Patrick and others were in, ran staight into the crossfire between the police and the robbers.

I noticed he had stopped breathing. I ran to the back to call the nurse who handed me his things to check him for me. A doctor showed up, used the stethoscope on his chest and when he was done i asked him, is he ok?He said "no he is not okay" then he walked away.

The slowness of the process of moving them to Marina was dissapointing.No urgency, no compassion. I noticed his Id cards were missing but i wasn't thinking straight enough to ask anyone for them. Eventually after about 45 minutes or more they put my husband's body at the back of a police truck and on the way the truck broke down infront of Lekki phase 1. Thank God his uncle was following us and his body was moved into his uncle's car.

By the time we got to marina it was late,he was gone...I remember laying beside him,blowing air into his mouth amd begging him to breathe. Nigeria police,they delayed every process with no pity for my father-in-law and Patrick's uncle who had been running around trying to organize the burial, they extorted money from an old man in mourning, God had to send an angel to prevail on someone higher up before they released his body to us.



The details will frustrate you. Patrick was an amazing human being, no one is perfect but i can confidently say he was pretty close. We were friends, i told some people I haven't been to the market in 5 years because he knows I don't enjoy shopping so he made me a deal when we got married "i shop, you cook".

How do explain his dedication to the kids, I'm not sure I would be able to travel as much as I have all these years if I was married to someone else. @justadetoun visited me and she was so grieved, so moved, so angry as to why no one was taking responsibility.


Why didn't WEMA bank use the correct bullion van to transport their money, the one they used has been banned by the government. How did robbers know money was going to be moved? Why was Patrick not rushed into surgery or given oxygen? I have so many questions and my pain runs deep. They stole our gem , his parents and siblings are distraught. I'm carrying a child who will never enjoy his embrace or sweet kisses.''

The Red wedding.....where the wife's family betrayed and slaughtered the groom's family.

Just like the ‘Red Wedding’ term in the popular Game of Thrones television drama series, this Kaduna wedding also experienced bloodbath, as a number of deaths occurred during the celebration. Many were killed after all ceremonies were concluded in the church; Daily Trust Saturday reports

It was Sunday night. Families, youths and well-wishers had converged to celebrate with Christopher Moses at a send-off party organised after his church wedding.

The home of Moses and his new wife in Kukum Daji village, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State, was filled with church elders, the women choir group of Zumuntan Mata and other members, who offered prayers and pieces of advice to the new couple before dispersing to give the youth the opprtunity to carry on with the festivity.

However, about 10:30pm, when most of the youths were immersed in the celebration, tragedy struck. What could have been a fun-filled and memorable evening turned bloody when gunmen on motorcycles stormed Moses’ home and opened fire on celebrants.

Many of the youths could not escape the attack as they were caught unawares. Daily Trust Saturday gathered and within five minutes, the gunmen had caused a lot of damage and sped off, leaving screams, blood and corpses behind.

Narrating his ordeal, Moses said, “I was making plans to settle down with my wife and start a family, but unknown to me, some people were planning to end our lives.

They shot at us sporadically and we started running for our lives. There was confusion and the attackers seized the opportunity and continued to shoot. I ran and hid somewhere in the house, praying to God to save our lives.

I watched as they killed my friends and relatives. People were running and screaming for help, but there was no one to help them. Everything happened within a short time. I am still in shock at the violent way my guests were killed.”

The 28-year-old Moses said his wife, who survived the attack, have been traumatised and had to be conveyed to her parents’ house in another village. He said he would live with the gory memory of that incident for the rest of his life.

Speaking with our correspondent in his house, Moses said he regretted organising the party that led to bloodshed.

“If I had the foreknowledge of what was going to happen, I would have cancelled the party. I would have taken my wife quietly to our house since we have already done all the church programmes.

Unfortunately, I decided to organise the party and invited my friends and relatives and almost all the youths of Kukum Daji to celebrate with me, and this tragedy happened,” he said.

A former councillor who represented Kukum ward in Kaura, Samuel Amai, who lost 13 members of his extended family, said the incident would remain in his memory.

“July 19, 2020 was a terrible day. I have never experienced such a thing in my life. And I don’t want to experience it again. We are from the same clan with almost all the youths that lost their lives in the party.

We took some of the injured ones to Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa Memorial Hospital, Kafanchan, but due to lack of available facilities there to remove the bullets, we moved those with serious injuries to Kaduna and others to Salem Hospital in Throneroom Ministry in Kafanchan,” he narrated.

Also, Gambo Yakubu Gowon, who lost his wife, Mary, due to a stray bullet, said she was frying akara (beans cake) near the venue of the send-off when a stray bullet hit her.

Gowon said Mary, who was 20 years old, left a one-year-old baby behind.

“She was the first casualty. I was also at the wedding party when the attackers arrived and shot at us sporadically. I was nearly killed, but thank God that I survived,” he said.

Some residents of the area who narrated how the incident occurred said the power generator used at the wedding had stopped when the attackers struck.

Jeremiah Yasham, who lost his nephew in the attack, said he was returning from watching a football match when he heard the gunshots.

“I later learnt that it was when the generator stopped working and the organisers were trying to fix it that the attackers stormed the venue and started shooting. When I heard the gunshots, I thought it was the sound of a sparking transformer, but I later realised there were gunshots,’’ he narrated.

Solomon Moses and his younger brother, Exodus, were at the party when the gunmen arrived. While Solomon was lucky to have survived the carnage, he told Daily Trust Saturday that his younger brother was not lucky as he was killed.

The mother of the deceased was too distraught to speak with our correspondent when he visited their house, but Solomon said, “We were all at the party when the attackers came and started shooting. I went flat on the ground when they opened fire.’’

Our correspondent observed that after the attack, military men have been stationed in the community, especially at the Local Education Authority (LEA) Primary School, Tunga Bidam, Kukum Daji.

Moses further said, “All we want is peace. Let the government do the needful to bring back peace to our land. I want the government to bring the culprits to book. Justice must be served.

The youth leader of Kukum Daji community, Joseph Liberty, said government should do everything possible to stop the recurrence of such incidents.

“What they did to us is uncalled for. We lost most of our youths who helped in building our community and the country in general. Government should take serious measures to protect our lives,” he said.

Liberty said the people of Kukum Daji had never had problems with anyone and had lived in peace with their neighbours and surrounding communities for many years.
