Kemi Lala should build Bridges and not burn them. I hope not all "Kemis"are troublesome like this? Regina has been very open, kind and warm to her colleagues even in the music industry and so has her spouse. It's not a bad thing if the actors reciprocate their good will. Kemi's suggestions concerning other things the AGN can be doing is well said, but does not have to come at the expense of pulling down that which they did. |
The Actors Guild of Nigeria AGN, have replied actress Kemi Akindoju, who earlier today blasted the leadership of the association after they paid a visit to actress, Regina Daniels, and her billionaire husband, Ned Nwoko to congratulate them on their new born. Kemi's posts are below in case you missed it. In a statement released this night, Monalisa Chinda Coker, the Director of Communications of the AGN, said ordinarily the organization would not dignify Lala's ''repugnant and uninformed comment'' but it is compelled to explain the reason the some members visited Regina and her husband. Read the statement below ''Our attention has been drawn to an unsavoury statement by An Actress though not an AGN Member. Kemi Lala Akindoju on social media about the visit of the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria to Mrs Regina Daniel Nwoko, one of our members who recently gave birth to a baby. Ordinarily, the AGN would not dignify such repugnant, uninformed comment with any response. In this case however, it is important to correct a few impressions without joining issues with a non-member of the guild. And we also advise you crosscheck your facts before making allusions. The simple intent is to establish our position and intimate the public on our policy direction and efforts of the present leadership to extend genuine care for every member of the guild. 1.An actor's registration as a member instantly confers on him or her the privileges due to members which includes protection in their professional quests, welfare packages in their moments of need, celebration of their triumphs and many more. 2. Since assuming office, the current leadership of the Guild has prioritised courtesy visits to majority of her indisposed members across the country, offering moral and financial support since assuming office. 3. AGN has established a dedicated line and email for reports of sexual harassment and abuse cases in line of duty. AGN is also in strategic partnership with relevant agencies to counsel and persecute violations against any of our members. 4. AGN has introduced a highly credible Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) to take good care of their health issues of all registered members. 5. AGN recently participated actively in two funeral rites of our dearly beloved members that passed on, Patience Oseni in Calabar and Ukwuak Asuquo, in Abuja. We remain completely committed to catering for all members irrespective of status or religion. Once again, we therefore reaffirm our commitment to professionalism and unbridled responsibility to the welfare of our members. It is the crystal goal of the Emeka Ejezie Rollas led Executive to bring about lasting change in and transformation of the industry as a whole. We will remain undaunted and we will deliver the goods to our esteemed members. Finally, it is expedient to add that visiting Mrs. Nwoko was not just ordinary but significant for us because beyond holding the leadership of our noble Guild in the highest esteem, she also reached out to us to break the good news upon delivery of her bouncing baby boy. It is also pertinent to note that Mrs. Nwoko’s Mother, Rita Daniel is the able Vice President, South South in the current executive council of the Guild. Her husband, Rt. Hon. Prince Ned Nwoko is the current Chairman, National Board of Patrons of the Actors Guild of Nigeria. This makes it absolutely germaine for the National President, who arrived Abuja on an official assignment to make time out for courtesy and congratulatory visit to a committed guild member. The National President is also scheduled to reach out to other members who have various health challenges and reach out to the vulnerables with palliatives. Kindly visit our website to read more about our numerous reach out efforts at such a time as this - www.actorsguildnigeria.com Thank you. A wedding in India turned out to be a Coronavirus hotspot, killing the groom who had a high fever, and infecting more than 100 guests as his family didn't heed his request to post-pone the wedding ceremony. According to the Hindustan Times, the man, a 30-year-old software engineer developed diarrhea and a high fever before his June 15 wedding, but his family forced him to swallow a painkiller and go through with the ceremony, attended by more than 360 people in Paliganj. 8 hours later, his condition worsened and he died on the way to a hospital, according to the news outlet. His body was quickly cremated without being tested for the coronavirus. As a result of the man's death, all of his close relatives were tested for the virus on June 19 and 15 were confirmed to be positive. In a desperate attempt to prevent the spread of the disease, a camp was set up where samples were taken from the other attendees. Of those, 86 have tested positive, officials said Tuesday. The bride meanwhile tested negative for the virus. “Even though he was feeling unwell by June 14 and wanted the wedding deferred, family heads from both sides advised against it, citing huge financial losses if the arrangements had to be canceled,” a relative said to Hindustan Times.Another relative, who tested negative, said no one suspected that the groom had COVID-19. “As rural areas are almost COVID-free, we were relaxed,” the relative told the news outlet. "By the day of the wedding, he was running a high temperature, raising some concerns among his relatives, who “prayed that it was not COVID infection,” the relative said. “He performed all the pre-wedding functions after taking Paracetamol,” he added, referring to the brand name for over-the-counter acetaminophen. Community official Chiranjeev Pandey said: “Our first priority now is to prevent the infection and break the chain. We have sealed parts of the neighboring Meetha Kuan, Khagari and some parts of the sub-urban marketplace of Paliganj.”

A video of Germantown resident Lloyd Crawford exchanging words with a black lives matter protester has been trending online. While the intentions of the recording party was to paint a victimisation picture while demonizing Lloyd, watching the video without bias suggests otherwise. For one thing, you would observe that Lloyd was well composed and his questions shows a resident who was concerned that the violence he sees on TV does not come to his town. These violence has been synonymous with regions where BLM rallies and protests are held. Lloyd introduced himself politely to the unknown lone protester who refused to do same, he then asked if the protester was a resident of Georgetown town to which he got a negative answer. This made Lloyd suggest he leaves town and then walk away. While it may be wrong for anyone to ask another to leave town. It was not in anyway communicated as a threat like the BLM advocates wants it to seem. Like they do anyone or any idea opposed to their methods, making Lloyd look like a demon while overlooking the BLM advocate's rudeness is their strategy of control and it is unfair to Lloyd and other victims. The protester rudely suggested Lloyd was drunk and not in his senses even yelling after Lloyd as he walked away, 'don't get a DUI', he said. The Black Lives Matter protesters must stop playing victims at every altercation and situation. Black lives matter and so do white lives and all lives too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z6GI4x_d0bs |

THE STORY Of HOW I LOST EVERYTHING. While walking with my biological father, Evangelist Gyang Luke Dung to the road to get a bus to the studio, the words & melody for this song started to come to me. This was in 1995. My birth father passed away in 2005. Before his passing, he commended me into the Hands of the Most High. He blessed me with a curse, or, he cursed me with a blessing, and this is it: He said, "in this life, you will NEVER succeed outside God." I will be forever grateful for that condition He set for me. Now with all these things, I still went prodigal. Here's the story: In 2004, God blessed me with a beautiful album, Na Ba Ka!. In 2005 I signed a ground breaking deal against my father's advice. This marriage assumed control of my first born child, Na Ba Ka!. Unbeknownst to me, this choice I made was going to end my career as a successful musician, much like a candle in the wind. I presumptuously thought the industry had the morality espoused in the scriptures. How wrong I was! As a servant of the Most High, lost in a world where I was looking for the treasures that Christ rejected, I started to cast my pearls to the swine, sacrificing what belonged to God, to Satan. All the children that God gave me, I sacrificed them to demons. The deal I signed was highly promising. The single condition was to bow down in worship, and I was going to receive access and power along with all the kingdoms of the world, and to make me become like God. The tree was really good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise. My desire, lust, and ambition blinded me. I forgot that I was already made in the image of God, hence I already was godlike, and didn't need to answer the seductive call. Through discontentment, I despised the words of Christ, and the gifts of God. Na Ba Ka was already perfect when it came out in 2004, but that tree was too tempting. I watched them with my children rise to power, blinded by their own ambitions while I was on my decline. What could I say? They praised me in public, but their works towards me were despiteful. They understood that helping me could be deemed disloyalty and treasonous. They couldn't help! Their judgement was in favour of their new masters. DISCLAIMER: This is my position concerning the church. There are good churches, and there are good pastors. They are few, and far in between. BACK TO MY STORY: I went to dine with the devil a young prophet, I came back empty, robbed, and spoiled, with a broken spirit. I lived for years in perplexity, constant depression, and every kind of confusion with no one to comfort me. I, in the mindset of sheep had been configured to believe that everything that's said in the media, and on pulpits was the truth. I therefore constantly measured myself by the societal standards. I was always found wanting. Source : https://www.facebook.com/jeremiahgyang Lalasticlala Mynd44

Justice for Kadijah |
Women in the media Sierra Leone (WIMSAL)* vehemently condemns the alleged rape of a five-year-old girl in Freetown named Kadijah , which inhumane act reportedly led to her death. According to information gathered, the victim lost her life as a result of multiple rape as postmortem shows. As a female media organization we are deeply saddened and we therefore condemn this act. We are calling on all authorities concerned to speedily launch an investigation into the matter and ensure the perpetrator(s) is brought to justice. WIMSAL will follow this case closesly and work with other organisations to ensure justice for the girl. Her cousin had this to say “I am demanding justice for my 5-year-old cousin Kadijah Saccoh. Kadijah was a U.S. citizen who was brutally raped, tortured, and strangled to death in Sierra Leone, a country on the coast of West Africa. Her father, Congolese Saccoh, has been trying extremely hard to bring her to the U.S., but the Judge of my uncle’s case prevented him from his right as a parent and her right as a U.S. citizen, to allow her to leave and go to America because the child’s mother refused to allow my uncle his parental rights. We need help to hold the Judge and the child’s mother accountable for their carelessness. If he did not threaten my uncle, my cousin would still be alive today. Instead of giving her to my uncle, he allowed her in the care of her careless mother’s family. They tried to cover up her death by giving false stories of what happened to her. We need to find the rapist as well. I want everyone involved to be arrested. I am so sick to my stomach. My cousin’s life mattered. We need to protect our black sisters. We need to protect our daughters from being raped. I’m so sick and tired of this. Please share this petition with any politicians and please spread the word so the United States can make this a priority investigation. SAY HER NAME. JUSTICE FOR KADIJAH M. SACCOH. I WILL NOT REST UNTIL EVERYONE WHO WAS INVOLVED IN THE EVENTS LEADING UP TO MY COUSINS MURDER ARE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS”.According to Amadu Bah, it is sickening how an innocent beautiful kid can die under such circumstances and this is not the first, there are many other cases that dont come out and we dont read about on social media. Our nation, community and leaders should bow in shame for failing to protect our girls. We all should be ashamed of ourselves. Again, this is a nation that still dosent have a DNA testing machine. Our governments couldn’t provide one some 11 years ago and 2 years ago. Sadly it’s not a priority to a nation with rape culture as Chernor Bah clearly said. A report by CARL last year explains how the Family Support Unit is under funded even within the Police, how some dont even have papers or printers to do their work not to talk of mobility. We are a shameless bunch of people who cover up when their kids are abused just to be compromised. Presently travelling up country and I cringe seeing kids hawking all on their own with groundnuts and cold water, exposing them to perpetrators. What next after the social media outburst for Kadijah? How do we save other Kadijah’s and ensure justice is achieved and we seriously address this rape culture in our society? Let’s demand for more from our criminal justice system and take responsibility as people, the perpetrators are in our homes and communities. Some are even reading this. May the soul of innocent Kadijah and all the others rest in peace.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo says all camps where the National Youth Service Corps orientation exercises are usually undertaken should be closed for two years because of the Covid-19 protocol which demands social distancing. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, said this in a series of tweets on Tuesday while reacting to the controversy generated by the Economic Sustainability Committee report. The tweets read in part, “Contrary to reports circulating in the mainstream media, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo did not call for the suspension of the National Youth Service Corps. “It’s the paramilitary orientation camping that is being considered to be suspended for at least 24 months, not deployment to primary assignment i.e. the longer part of NYSC programme would not be affected in case this idea is okayed. “The Economic Sustainability Committee in its report submitted by Osinbajo last week, recommended the direct mobilisation of prospective corps members to their places of primary assignment.” He said the suspension of the camping exercise was recommended to maintain social distancing as part of measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus disease. Watch this and you will understand why it seems democrats have hijacked the protests in America . The facts and figures will shock you compared to the voice from the protests. The number of unharmed blacks killed is less than the number of whites, less than the numbe rof police killed at such altercations and was barely 11 people in 2019. 11 people compared to the shout of an imaginary genocide being touted by Joe Biden and the protesting citizens. That figure gets killed within black gangs in a week or less in some neighbourhoods. That is blacks killing black. Is this all about the politics of 2020 election? Let's know what you think after seeing the video evidence and figures shared in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qwif8PF1EI |

Inside the White House, the mood was bristling with tension. Hundreds of protesters were gathering outside the gates, shouting curses at President Trump and in some cases throwing bricks and bottles. Nervous for his safety, Secret Service agents abruptly rushed the president to the underground bunker used in the past during terrorist attacks. The scene on Friday night, described by a person with firsthand knowledge, added to the sense of unease at the White House as demonstrations spread after the brutal death of a black man in police custody under a white officer’s knee. While in the end officials said they were never really in danger, Mr. Trump and his family have been rattled by protests that turned violent three nights in a row near the Executive Mansion. After days in which the empathy he expressed for George Floyd, the man killed, was overshadowed by his combative threats to ramp up violence against looters and rioters, Mr. Trump spent Sunday out of sight, even as some of his campaign advisers were recommending that he deliver a nationally televised address before another night of possible violence. The building was even emptier than usual as some White House officials planning to work were told not to come in case of renewed unrest. By nightfall on Sunday, protesters had returned to vicinity of the White House in force, and sirens wailed through much of the downtown Washington as the police rushed to the scene to reinforce the Secret Service and National Guard. The mayor imposed an 11 p.m. curfew in hopes of avoiding late-night clashes. Source https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/31/us/politics/trump-protests-george-floyd.html
