Joebie: I wanted to say something about Morrocco. How many AFCON have they won? I mean from senior to junior levels. But they are knocking the door seriously when it comes to the world. This is the approach I've always wanted Nigeria to take. You don't make much progress as a nation if you are fixated on being local champs in Africa. With our natural talent, if we add some bit of systematic framework, we will achieve great things. But we have become accustomed to this any-howness because in spite of it, we still win trophies (local, as you say) If Morocco continues on this same trajectory, it's a matter of time before they win a major trophy. In fact I desire that they win this present u-20 tournament and the next Wafcon Make them leave Afcon for us sha |

D generalisation of d last statement is nothing but morbid. Not all Nigerians are childish and irresponsible. There are many monikers on dis forum that I wish would go into politics and I swear I will sell all I av have to follow them, why-they present you undebatable and undeniable fact in their opinion, and you can see dat this people are meticulous in keeping records and they are "neaty picky"- they are thorough-bred gentlemen.
It is true every man has a price but not every man can be bought. So your lordship, I objectively object to that generalisation that......" we are childish and irresponsible people". As a people, that's who we are. Why do we like engaging in absurd denialism? Aren't you seeing the results? Simple pattern recognition should make you see these things. I mentioned our trait as a people, you are using individuals to negate my point. Haba In Titus 1:12 Paul in admonishing Titus to be strict had this to say about Cretans: "Even one of their own men, a prophet from Crete, has said about them, “The people of Crete are all liars, cruel animals, and lazy gluttons.” Then you'd come and say ohh Paul is being morbid. I know so and so Cretan who does not lie and is not cruel or lazy. |

MetalJigsaw: I think God wants us to qualify but learn a lesson first. That Lookman's selfishness and overdoing is one of the major reasons we've not been scoring goals. Guy is good no doubt, but he selfish make we talk true.
If he played that match I don't think we would have scored as many goals. His absense was a blessing in disguise. Though he's still the best partner for Osimhen upfront
Chelle really needs to talk to him. Lookman is a selfish glory hunter. |

QueenJazz: The bolded is sooo true, it's both painful and hilarious to read it. 😂
This chaos is part of our culture, for better or worse. That's why Nigerians are generally a very impatient bunch of people. We love shortcuts. We can't fathom the concept of long term planning that will take at least 7-8 years to get sustainable results. You need to look no further than the touts on Twitter who start calling for a player's head after just one bad game. Children are like that. They are impulsive, they want everything now. No patience. If only we can be systematic to a degree. And it's not native to any people oo. It's learned behavior which over time becomes part of the culture of a people. |

Bossoflife25: SA eliminated Morroco at the last AFCON. Morocco has not won AFCON in 30 years. SA played only 3 matches away from home won 1, draw 1, lost 1. With our players fully fit during the qualifiers we would have won the group without stress. Mind you SA won 1996 AFCON. Got to 2000 semis. SA is not a small team. Knocked out host Egypt at the 2018 AFCON You are missing the point which is that they are improving, we are not, in fact we are retrogressing. Their stadium, league, administration, finance, football ecosystem is far more advanced than ours. |

Subzerooo: Leave am na he is talking about PAST finals when the future is currently in discussion, Look at stadiums, youth football, local leagues and administration and you will see which team is on the rise and which team is dwindling, the funny thing being that Nigeria defeating South Africa in future will be seen as an upset rather than the norm The handwriting is on the wall. I agree with you. |

You ignore something crucial which TheGoodJoe often emphasizes - keep improving and with time the results will come. Morocco hasn't won anything yet but the whole world acknowledges that they are onto something. |

Chelle still dey study am. We don't even know his real position yet, we have to see some consistency in his real position and performance before we let him play. Na good player, he go do well for Super Eagles, make we dey observe am for club fess. I think the view expressed by semid4lyfe is quite telling. Another player who is still on the fringes of the team and has been so from coach to coach is Onyedika. Surprisingly Chelle always uses Dele Bashiru whenever Dele is available. |

Odunayaw: This leapfrog is it in number of finals appearance across all NT levels, male and female? There's truth in his statement oo. SA were not our mates a few years ago. We'd be pitted against them and nobody loses sleep. Today, they have become a thorn in our flesh even more than our traditional rivals. We found ourselves in the same group with them and they nicked the ticket even after 3 points were deducted. This is because they kept on improving their league and it has upped the quality of their national team. Morocco is another team that has invested heavily in soccer and the results are tumbling in across all strata of footballing competitions. We are still relying on talent. No structure, no system. The fact is that AS A PEOPLE we lack the mental fortitude to be systematic. Not just that we lack the fortitude, we hate anything systematic, we hate law and order. We like chaos, we even thrive in it because we are a childish and irresponsible people. |

NIGHTMARE0O7: Chelle is not that coach.. i know a lot of people will crucify me for this but he is not that coach. Yes he tried to get us out of the shii we were and he did his best. But He is not technically sound
A coach who couldnt spot that lookman is match rusty wouldnt know what to do with a player like uche, so im not suprised. Right from the first match lookman played for us during his issues with his club i saw he was out of form and needed to rest. But nope caoch was only using APOTY to keep playing him. Meanwhile chukwueze who he experimented Vs Jamaica showed signeds but he kept benching him. If not for lookman double yellow card we wont be here with WC hope today
FATE& LUCK saved chelle Not his technical ability. Chukwueze was on good streak. Chelle kept benching him. He played Dessers against South Africa when Tolu should have been his first option. |

Jieta2: And I believe the issue has been solved a little bit, right from the time we drew Zimbabwe the team became serious no unusual paparazzi pictures and videos they normally do in camp, like Iwobi eats ewedu Ihenacho hits Musa and start trending with stupid things which will divert your attention and you have important matches. If we play with determination and purposefulness, we will win our matches and qualify. Who knows this might turn out to be our best world cup if we qualify. In 1992 Euro, Denmark did not qualify for the tourney. One team pulled out and Denmark replaced them. Denmark went ahead and won the Euros. |

When I first got to know about him, he was hyped as a Rodri regen then he moved to Getafe where he was turned into a forward.
He looks energetic and is difficult to shake off the ball but I'm yet to see where his qualities will fill in the midfield. This might be his undoing oo. Cos I don't know why he's not catching Chelle's fancy |

Goke7: I think Boniface lost his place by not being in Afcon. Sometimes, when you miss an opportunity, you lose out completely. Some players cemented their place in the team with Afcon. Even Ndidi still dey struggle after missing Afcon too. For Awoniyi, he may just have lost his place totally, except for a miracle happening.
Life can be unfair, and that's the reality. For some players, they need just one match to sneak in, and no one will offer them more opportunities if they don't play well in just one match; other players will have several opportunities before they can finally cement their place. Just imagine if Benjamin Frderick did not play well in the chance he had in the Gold Cup earlier this year, I doubt he would be given more opportunities to prove himself. Adams may just have cemented his place by just that goal against Lesotho. mhen life can be cruel! It's time and chance bro. That Benjamin ehn, he's not pacy as such. I think his strength lies in his football intelligence in that he's never caught out of place. He plays in such a way that with two or three runs, he's on you and he never gets beaten. |

Bossoflife25: Just rewatching the match and saw that, that Ikedia boy almost touched Simon's cross to Onyeka with his hand. Omo!!
How did Chelle invite that boy ahead of Ejuke? Hmm God foresaw that that moment will come when during a WCQ match in which we desperately need a fourth goal, Simon will cross the ball and Olakunle will jump for it, so God made him short so that no matter how high he jumps he'd not be able to get to the ball. God surely has a sense of humor 😂😂😂 |

Goke7: I thought I was the only one who noticed this, cos most people are too carried away with the scoreline, thinking we were 100%. It still boils down to having a more coordinated midfield. We are overworking our defence, and when they slip up, we'll blame them, leaving our midfielders who can't hold the ball for long enough to control more possession and the game.
It's the result I'm happy for, but am still not impressed with our play generally! It was obvious that we didn't have midfield control. Ebenezer has to be brought in |
