Acts 15:5-20 says

5 But some who believed [who [/color][b]acknowledged Jesus as their Savior and devoted themselves to Him] belonged to the sect of the Pharisees, and they rose up and said, It is necessary to circumcise [the Gentile converts] and to charge them to obey the Law of Moses.

10 Now then, why do you try to test God by putting a yoke on the necks of the disciples, such as neither our forefathers nor we [ourselves] were able to endure?
11 But we believe that we are saved through the grace (the undeserved favor and mercy) of the Lord Jesus, just as they [are].
12 Then the whole assembly remained silent, and they listened [attentively] as Barnabas and Paul rehearsed what signs and wonders God had performed through them among the Gentiles.
13 When they had finished talking, James replied, Brethren, listen to me.
14 Simeon [Peter] has rehearsed how God first visited the Gentiles, to take out of them a people [to bear and honor] His name.
15 And with this the predictions of the prophets agree, as it is written,
16 After this I will come back, and will rebuild the house of David, which has fallen; I will rebuild its [very] ruins, and I will set it up again,
17 So that the rest of men may seek the Lord, and all the Gentiles upon whom My name has been invoked,
18 Says the Lord, Who has been making these things known from the beginning of the world.
19 Therefore it is my opinion that we should not put obstacles in the way of and annoy and disturb those of the Gentiles who turn to God,
20 But we should send word to them in writing to abstain from and avoid anything that has been polluted by being offered to idols, and all sexual impurity, and [eating meat of animals] that have been strangled, and [tasting of] blood.

Also Galatians 3:27-28

27 For as many [of you] as were baptized into Christ [into a spiritual union and communion with Christ, the Anointed One, the Messiah] have put on (clothed yourselves with) Christ.
28 There is [now no distinction] neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is not male [b]and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.


It is clear from the passages above that non-Jewish Christians were not mandated by the apostles to keep the Jewish/customary laws to be justified and that include the law about men and women garments in Deut.
However as an act of devotion or penitence or any other voluntary self denial, a Christian woman can give up wearing make up, trousers, jewelleries and even expensive clothing, of her own volition, just as one can choose to fast.
This would not mean or imply that other Christian women who are not so led or who are not operating at that level are sinners.

There is something for everybody. Not Catholics and Jehovah witnesses alone. I don't belong to either of them, but I think that if her message is true, we should all concentrate on ourselves and not pointing at others.

And they are all still doing it today. The religeous bodies set their rules/ doctrines above the word of God. Dare to stand that the right thing be done in the church, or refer your pastor or bishop to the scriptures to condem a church practice, and see their reaction. They may not kill you as in the past, but they will make life miserable for you in that church. eg They make people to belive that when the church does not conduct their burial, they may not go to heaven esp those old folks in the villages. You then see everybody struggling to be in their Church's good book( financially of course).

Intimidation is the word. It has always been there. And still is here.

Did you really read the verses? Particularly Verse 23 and 26 of Deut 14? It actually commands that the tithe be set aside each year, and then be eaten in His house by the giver ( as a feast/ celebration of God's blessings for that year) with his family, friends, priests etc

Deut 14: 28 says that at the end  of every three years, the TITHE of THAT year is to be stored in our towns/ gate -depending on Translation, so that the fatherless, widows, strangers, Livites( who have no allotments/ inheritance of their own) may come and eat freely there.

That is to say, Yr1 & Yr2, tithe is to be used for  a feast by the Giver,  Yr3 tithe is to be taken to a central place (store) which is supposed to be in every town, for the less privillaged.

I agree that the pastors are not really the ones to go to for anwers. Because I have heard many of them teach on tithe but never once mention these scriptures where God thru Moses gave this command ( with detailed instuction about how to go about it). They prefer Malachi -where the people were rebuked for not obeying/ following God's instruction on the matter. As though Malachi gave the law.

Why do our pastors not read DEUTERONOMY 14:22-29, DEUT 12:17-18 etc to us, where we are commanded to eat our Tithes? Why do they claim it is their right? Or is it possible they have not seen those places? I dont understand.

It is actually scriptural to give to the Men of God. Problem is that most of them are greedy - asking us to give them even our own portion, commanded us by God to eat, so that we  know that He (GOD) has blessed us. I mean the TITHE.

Yes! God commanded that the Tithe of every year should be set aside and be eaten by the giver, but must be a feast in Gods presence/ house with the giver's family, neighbours,pastor, less privilaged etc. But that of the 3rd yr should be taken to a central place in our towns -called store house, so that the poor, orphans, widows, strangers, and the Livites of course can go there and eat freely. Deuteronomy 14:22-29, Deut. 12:17-18.

They prefere to quote Malachi where the Isrealites were rebuked for not bringing the tithes/ taking it to the store-house( the 3rd year) as God had commanded earlier. Our Pastors Quote Malachi as if the Tithe law is just being given there.

There are offerings of course that should be exclusively theirs eg fellowship offerings, but they claim that everything is their own.
