I am talking from my own personal experience which I have used it just once in a day for two of my pregnancy.

I guess yours was natural, hers is ivf. The level of progesterone from natural pregnancy is different from what the body produces in ivf pregnancies, so she needs 800mg of cyclogest instead of 400 mg.

@omojudy i enjoy reading your blog. keep it up

Why inserting cyclogest twice daily? It should be once in a day and it's always advisable to use in the night. Peaceful pregnancy in Jesus name @Mummy4life1

There is nothing wrong in using cyclogest twice a day. Peoples need for progesterone differs, she did IVF.

Is vasoprin not high for a pregnant woman?vasoprin tablet is for bp patients. It shouldn't be taken once a woman takes in because it can cause a miscarriage. U can see ur doctor for mild ones, like Adolmet tablet. It's the one am using for my high blood pressure.

@mummy4life1 vasporin is very good in pregnancy. It prevents miscarriage because it prevents blood clots . Blood clots block the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the baby. It is also used to prevent preeclampsia. take it through out pregnancy. You can get more information on Google or ask your doctor. My aunt who did ivf at 40 yrs used vasporin all through and nothing happened.
Your pregnancy is ivf , so it's high risk, please work with a doctor. The way ivf pregnancies are monitored is different from natural conception. Most nurses and doctors call these babies " very special to us" .

Try adding a slice of lemon, cucumber or watermelon to your water. I'm saying this with the belief that the water is tasting somehow in your mouth, pls correct me if otherwise. Pele, the end is near.

Thank you ma, will give it a try...but i heard that lemon causes miscarriage ..is it true?

Hey mama, we are in the same boat! Please dont beat yourself up.

However keep trying, try cold garri water, try juice but dilute with water, try soft drink but dilute with water, try custard or pap, try cereal with cold milk (all these are suggestions am exploring cos i also cant keep water down). Just keep trying...

Throwing up is tough, i know cos am currently in that boat but some of what you ingest will stay in while some will be thrown out. However keep trying till your body eventually adjusts.

You are doing great Mama, welldone

thank you very much

Before you start trying to conceive ,I hope he is married to you.Do not take any herbs from any ijaw whatever otherwise you will compound your problems and when he realises you can't take in.he will run and dump you.then you will be the one to bear the heat alone.let him put a ring on it first.my 2cents.you can blast me.I have seen it happen

I wanted to say thesame, my dear sister@Annabechick please wait until he marries you. Any may who wants you to get pregnant before marriage is mostly after children and not the love or marriage itself. Calm down and plan your marriage, i believe the first month of your marriage, you will take it. also stay away from clomid.

Good morning all, i just started following this thread, and i have been reading for a while now. Pls i have been ttc for four months now, went for a scan there was nothing. I met with gynae who gave me a stimulant injection, then i also took clomid. But still AF. My fiance suggested herbal ,we both went and the Ijaw woman told me that my womb is down and that is why whenever my fiance makes love to me, the sperm pours out. She said i will have to raise it up, i accepted. But after a while I started having serious lower back pain. Feeling pains on my lower abdomen. I have been so scared and don't know what to do

Go for a scan. Four months is too early to worry. is the pain as a result of the womb setting?

Good evening fam, been ttc for about 2 years now. Issue is I've not really found out what the issue is despite using a gynae for about 2 years. Ran out of funds and couldn't afford the bills anymore. I have a very irregular cycle and my cervix is usually low almost at the tip of the vagina. Tried several medications but no result. Though I've been told by my doc via symptoms that I have pcos/hormonal imbalance. Pls is there any very affordable hospital in lagos or any treatment that has worked for people with irregular periods. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Hubby is not co operative anymore. I've also noticed anytime we try to have intercourse, once theres penetration, bleeding starts and once I rinse off it stops. Pls help. Tried explaining to a doc and he said he didn't understand what I was saying.

Please change doctor. They need to run series of test to know not just from symptoms. Also this is just a suggestion o, apologies if you find it offensive; if you believe in womb setting , you can check that out . It's just a suggestion o. The most important thing is that you need to change doctor.

Please mamas no vex, I neva come, I don dey disturb.

Please I have been having serious stomach tightening that wakes me up from sleep since last week Monday. it has reduced a bit and I spoke to the doc this morning when I went for a confirmatory blood PT and he prescribed Salbutamol 2mg for 5 days cos he said it's a sign of threatening miscarriage.

I rejected it and ran to the pharmacy and got it, I had already taken one when I decided to Google it and it's saying it's not really safe.

Please mamas chuck mouth, has anyone taken it or had this experience.

Dont take that. It's too early. That should give you progesterone. Salbutamol is used to prevent pre term labour from 22 weeks.

My fellow mama. I do not know much about your question, according to the internet continue taking vitex for about 6 months, they should be a change from the first month for some people though. But I advise you take it until you get pregnant. I do not have an idea about your other question.

Biko lemme rant cry
So I went to the scan center for the HSG, getting there I was told to sit and after a while I was administered an injection to ease the future pain. After some minutes I was called into the X-ray room to begin the procedure. I was hinted a little on the process and I agreed. Hmmm... It happened, my worst fear happened. I no gree open leg... This mama couldn't bear the pain, it was hell... Did I say they hadn't even inserted the plastic inside and I couldn't bear the pain. They stopped at a point and encouraged me but it wasn't just happening. It felt like trying to open a concrete wall. I cried and screamed and finally it entered. They allowed me catch my breath, in the process of opening up the plastic so the can inject the fluid the plastic broke that was when they all gave up on me.
Hubby was with me all along. Words cannot explain how I felt and how I'm feeling typing this. I really don't understand what's wrong with me cry I feel so bad right now. I tried to encourage myself that I'm doing this for my babies but it wasn't working. Hubby told them to reschedule it and I'll have to pay more money that I don't even have. I felt so bad for him.
Please forgive me for writing this long post it wasn't intentional, I just had to pour out my heart somewhere.
Thank you for reading. I'll appreciate your advice.

Awww so sorry dear. Take your time, when you arr ready, you can go back. by the grace of God you may not need it again.

Aww so sorry my dear. You can add vitex or b6, but ask your doctor if it is okay.

Good Day Fruitful Mamas.
Abeg make una help me torch light this my result. Today is cd 15 of a 28-29 days cycle. Haven't been ovulating past months cos of hyperprolactinemia. Took letrozole this cycle to achieve this. But my doc is skeptical cos I'm still having little breast discharge. I want to take progesterone supplements cos of luteal phase defect. What should I do next?

Didn't the doctor give you drugs to treat the high prolactin ?

Sophiemama:
TTC is not a sweet thing and when one is trying for a child she will be so helpless and she will do anything to achieve that.

Let me share one of my escapades with traditional mamas. The first was in Bayelsa where my friend introduced me to her. When I got there, she checked me and said I was pregnant, meanwhile prior to that time I had been seeing a gynaecologist,so I asked her why scan hasn't detected it and I still menstruate but she said it was because the baby was shedding.

She told me that she can start treating me until the pregnancy stands. I was happy and paid #15000 for a start and started shuttling Port Harcourt and Bayelsa thrice a week. Leaves were put in the vj and it will stop the period and injection was given to me. I started bloating like a pregnant woman,my friends TTCing were happy and decided to join me in the treatment.
My friends too were checked and told that they were pregnant and the same treatment started. It was my friend that checked the injection and told me it was progesterone. Mind you we all graduated from medical sciences.
One day I decided to check with another mama still from Bayelsa but residing in my place. She checked and I'm almost three weeks pregnant and that she can develop the baby and stop the menses if I pay her some amount of money.

I called my friend and told her to look for another mama in her vicinity and check herself. She checked and that mama told her she was pregnant. By that my friend had stopped menses and was heavily bloated. I decided to also check with her mama and that mama told me that I was not pregnant that if I doubt her I should go and do scan. I was devastated and then my friend and her husband went to the hospital to register and scan says she has matured follicles but no pregnancy. Everyone was heartbroken.

I went for scan and myoma seedlings were found instead of pregnancy.

When I was going to Bayelsa for treatment I met with many mamas like me and got their contacts and all those I have their have stopped going to her place and those that had bulging stomach are still like that.

From my observation, there are people that conceive when its the time and that time may be when they are at the massaging palor. I may be wrong but I just shared my experience with them and I am not encouraging or discouraging anyone because if we don't try anything out it will look like there is something we've not done.

Aww it is well.... any body that tells you they will get you pregnant is a scam. Only God can get you pregnant. The lord will remember you

If using traditional medicine is normal for you then you can continue. As for me and my family. I can't risk my life again and again. Lost a friend recently due to the same traditional medicine, almost lost my life too, I wasted my time and resources by visiting the traditional medicine people for years. My advice still remain from my years of waiting, visit good gynaecologist or fertility hospital for proper care and pray with your husband. By God's grace, I will testify soon and TTC waiting will end soon

Madam I never said it is normal for me, I only said its normal in my state, they use it alot, just like yorubas taking agbo for malaria and other ailment. The thing is that wherever people go to, they should always apply wisdom. Is not everything that is given to you that you drink, even when you see a doctor still do your research before accepting anything. Wisdom will make people know that trad cannot treat somethings if people do their research. Baby dust to you.

Everyone should do what's best for them. Nobody dey talk finish sha . Most people do not really tell you how they were treated, only if people know ( my colleague never said she used trado until she gave birth).. I saw all sorts of people there ( pastors wives, big people in the society, well educated people) I was shocked because I thought it was only for local people...that was why I did not condemn it outrightly, I mentioned both the good and the bad of it.

Do you know most of the drugs we take are herbal, but they are packaged ( vitex, all Chinese medicines) and I have read good and bad reviews of them.

If you read my reply very well, I said I still have doubts, people should be very vigilant before they go anywhere even seeing a doctor. I went to this one because her mother treated my mom and I did not have to drink anything.

Baby dust to you, this month will not pass you by.

I understanding sis but the risk is more than the advantage. Infact, the person can lose her life, money and uterus or Ovaries, kidney and Liver in process. Please be careful ooooo. Na naija we dey. People can go to any lent because of money. My advice is that visit good gynaecologist or good fertility hospital........

For example, you are advice to take enough water regularly in the hospital, folic acid was also recommended daily and one mama is advancing you to do other wise. Please, think twice sis.......

This trado medicine has worked for some people. It worked for my colleague with endometriosis. It worked for a friend who had series of miscarriages they all have kids now. It worked for my mom when she was pregnant for all her kids, they had to move the womb up to avoid miscarriage. It took a long time for my mom to convince Me though. I finally went and my womb was set abi moved and I stopped have scanty flow. The mama who treated me is the daughter of the woman who treated my mother. I still have doubts about them though because of the bad stories I have heard about them. Using trado is normal in where am from, they combine with white medicine. All in all, if you dont feel comfortable with them, dont use them.

Happy Sunday beautiful mothers, my husband is coming back this November and I really want to take in, I am in my late 30's, what tests should I do to get myself ready, I have only done HVS and nothing was found, lately I am on vitamin c, cod liver oil, vitamin e, folic acid and evening primrose, which one should I continue with and which one should I discard? Pls help a sister. Thanks.

Continue taking all. But stop evening primrose after ovulation.
Please do a folicle tracking to know when exactly you are ovulating. Also because of your age, immediately you are confirmed pregnant, start taking progesterone.

Thanks mama, it was after she started having a heavy bleeding that she went for the scan and the doctor said had miscarriage already. But he just dismissed her like that, saying next time she should be on progesterone once she miss her period. Was he not suppose to ask her to do flushing?

Please see another doctor to confirm if the pregnancy is still viable. The cervix is closed.
