Something is wrong,

I saw an appointment letter, it's recent.
A friend of mine just got employed in the inspectorate cadre. He got the slot through serving senator in North East.
I know some of you will start arguing but I swear to got it's real.
I can't send the appointment letter here for confidentiality reasons.

His appointment letter got me thinking, if things will ever get back to normal on this country.
Something we've been waiting for for years and now is given secretly.

I've applied, got a message from them recently that my application is being processed, they will communicate the next stage soon..
I rushed to their site and put my BVN to check my status but I got the response to "you have not being trained"

Yesterday I had some people received certain amount of money, I went back to check my status - I was taking to a page that ask me to create passwords and create and account, I did that accordingly and I got a response that a confirmation mail was sent to my mail..
I checked my mail but there was nothing there - I keep on repeating the process but nothing in my mail till date.

I'm kindof confused right now

So, I logged into the immigration portal to check if the list for the medicals and physical exercise is out lo and behold this is what I saw after writing the test last week.

Thank you for applying for 2020 Nigeria Immigration Service Recruitment Exercise.

We regret to inform you that your application was not successful at this time, and the CDCFIB will not be pursuing your candidacy for the position applied for.

We thank you for your interest in the Nigeria Immigration Service and wish you all the best in your future endeavours.

CDCFIB.

Does this mean that I did not qualify for the next stage of screening even after writing the test last week?

Check the spellings, may be you did mistake somewhere

According to my Aunt, SII are trained for both combatant and administrative and stationed at major poros entry point like Benin-Nigeria border, Niger-Nigeria border, Sea Port, etc. SII command a platoon which are not less than 32 NIS personnel.
ASI are at every passport issuing formation including local and abroad. SII are sometimes sent abroad for further training after the six months training.

For General Duty, if you are a Bsc holder and your qualification is Bsc Computer science then you will be posted to forensic or ID verification department or section in any NIS formation. Bsc (ASI) holders are specialized Personnel while HND holders (SII) are jack of all trade in NIS and they're more of asset to NIS than ASI due to different level of training which they acquired in the event of their training.

General duty are trained at NIS school in Orlu Imo state while ASI is Kano.

Out of the 210 NIS combatant personnel send to fight Boko Haram in August include 5 Senior Inspectors and 3 Inspectors. No ASI

Thank you for this information bro.
Please do you have any idea of how they post people to various sections and NIS formation? Is't best on specialization, performance in training or what?

Whats the second stage pls?

And will they invite only the about 5k persons they need to screening or will it be more so some persons can be screened out

I was told that; Once you make it to that stage -Congratulations.
They hardly withdraw applicants at that stage, unless you get serious issues.

Please help my friend, she's based in Abuja but went to Owerri for the test yesterday, does this mean she has to wait till 15th of December for the physical and medical screening or the process can be done in your state of residence?

Next stage usually take place in Abuja at their National Headquarter

Alhamdulillah!
I wrote my exam in Nguru Local Government of Yobe State. We ought to start 7am but for some reasons we start around 9.
To sum it all, I can say, the place is conducive, no any technical issues.

I pray we all make it to the next stage.
I pray it don't turn out to be another NDLEA aptitude test (1 year, no result).

_The reason why some of you guys here are seeing or thinking that people from the north are getting shortlisted more often.

*1. The population of graduates is higher in the south. So most of the applicants from south applied with Bsc or HND. And most northerns applied with SSCE, ND and NCE.*

*2. BSC and HND rank is harmonised , so the number of those requesting for Assistant Superintendent include two sets of applicants (e.i BSC and HND).*

*You see the competition for ASI is very high due to the increased number of applicants from HND and BSC.*

*3. Assistant Superintendent is the area of interest for the big politicians and the children of the elites. (You see getting this job with BSc or HND is more difficult.)*

*4. The slots for Assistant Superintendent is fewer than Assistant Inspector and to Assistant Officer 1 and 2.*

I urge my brothers and sisters, if you apply for a federal appointment next and you have a Diploma and HND, pls apply with a smaller certificates unless if it is exclusively meant for BSc or HND.

*No sentiment, this just the naked truth.*

God bless!
I just want to add this; even if to say equal number of people from Northern and Southern part of the country applied, the job will still be shared best on FCC slot.. there's is slot allocated for each state and each region and it must be fill with people from the same region.

For example; if 100 people from the south applied with SSCE and 50 people with SSCE applied from the North and the Agency is to recruit 100 people with SSCE - they are going to choose 50 from South and 50 from the North... The remaining 50 from the south will be disqualified, making it seems like majority of people that are disqualified are from the South.

The exam will be written in your test location which you choose during registration. If your state of origin is Kano and you choose Lagos as your test location when applying, you will write your test in Lagos.

I didn't get any email from them, and I saw rejection letter when I checked through their site, but I think the site is having problems because even when I purposely input wrong email address and ID number I also saw rejection letter

This site is programmed this way; those that have their name shortlisted, their details is already uploaded on the site, so once they put their ID number the system will automatically crawl, and you will get the automatic response that says congratulations and so on...
For those that aren't shortlisted, their information isn't in the site, so once they put their details, the bot will automatically crawl and search everywhere and if there's no record that matches your details you'll get t an automatic response that said; we regret to inform you that you are not shortlisted

Lol. I am yet to understand why my application was declined.
A graduate with 7 years experience in security /administration.
Human Resources Certification.
Project Management Certification.
International Leadership certification.
Organisational Behaviour Certification all sent to them.
A graduate of History and Diplomatic Studies

I doubt if they really went through all the applications.
Was told by someone that this stuff has been concluded months back cos her uncle work hers for her. Didn't believe it, but I am beginning to believe it now.

We moveeeee. Congrats to the successful applicants and wish you all best of luck

May be you deserve something better that's why they didn't shortlisted you.
Besides, they hardly check the documents you uploaded, it's automatic.
