The military are strategist they let the IPOB play to their hands to label them as terrorists now with the war on terror sympathizers will think twice to associate themselves with a tagged terrorist organisation.

This is a blow to the Biafra struggle. IPOB made a simple mistake to react and played into the hands of the military.

It shows that the IPOB group does not understand simple politics and are devoid of thinkers. They acted without strategising the presence of military made them loose focus to a terrorist organisation.

Ayoola03:
Long post alert!

Welcome home boss! @wealth360 degree, Don't forget to send my own share of the garri lol.

To buttress your point, my own experience from Lagos-Cairo everyone was asked to pull off their footware for scanning (all types, be it shoes, boots or sandals) there was a guy that put on a normal outdoor slippers, he was asked to pull it off. I think it all depends on the officers on duty. There is one witch mama at mma who just want to search everything including your jacket. And from Cairo-Canada,same process(footwares and hand luggage was scanned and they only searched males hand luggage females are allowed to go)

The issue of the pen, I am still surprised why your airline didn't give you one, Egypt air gave all passengers a fancy purse and in it we have a pair of socks,1 travel eye mask, tooth brush+toothpaste, wipes and a pen. Although it good to travel with one but in most cases not everything are always remembered, worry less in case you forgot to and even if your airline didn't provide, you will find a short term use in the plane from someone. Make sure you have a USB cord with you in the plane in case you need to charge your fone, USB ports are available for charging.

I will also advice everywhere coming soon, if you are using 3mouth square/ all round charger go and buy the 1round 2flat mouth charger like the ones some laptops uses or 2flat mouth charger like that of iPhone charger coz the socket here is completely different from what we have in Nigeria. Any other type will be useless.

For those that will be seeking for accommodation after arrival, you can check online to see the available apartments, contact the landlord to book an appointment for viewing, you can't go to the apartment without prior contact,no one will attend to you. Once you contact the landlord, he or you will schedule a day to come over for viewing. You can check like 3-4 apartments then decide on the one you want to settle in for.

Please avoid basement apartments, even here, the whites also do that as well, the landlords are the ones living in the main building while they reserve the basement for ignorant international students, coz you will suffer during winter. here, basement apartments are the cheapest and also known to be the coldest. Although,I confirmed it even now that it's summer, most basement apartments I checked out feel so cold, I wonder what it will feel like when it's winter. Well some will say you can get a room heater but the choice is yours.

Before you take up any accommodation, consider the distance from school at least for the first year, you can live very close to school to get use to the system. Also, consider the cost and as well the condition of the room I.e furnished or not. Most students prefer a fully furnished room coz it ease the stress of getting furniture and reduce cost. If you have all that at a subsidized room lease,it is much more better than an expensive unfurnished room. But if you feel you can't use those furniture and you fit buy a brand new, just prepare to spend like $300-$400, the choice is yours.(when you arrive, you will understand the fact that student spend less to save more).

Make google map your friend but be prepared to get lost several times tho it's good cos you will get used to the system faster. But with google map you can navigate your way. You can as well buy bus tickets to enable you to move around pending the time you will get a bus pass from your school. 5bus tickets goes for $9 in London but I don't no of other province and 1ticket is valid for 90mins I.e you are free to enter any other buses and move around with in 90min in which the pass will expire.

When you resume,Be prepared to be intimidated by this people(the whites), they know Nigerians/international students are good therefore, they will make you feel they are far better than you, they will attempt to stylishly snob you and pretend as if they don't hear you all because we have the accent. They will surely want you to feel interior been an international student. Please never accept defeat and don't allow anyone to intimidate you, don't be shy to ask questions when you feel it's necessary, feel free to talk when the need arises, do not take shit from anyone, let your no be no and stand clear on what you want and what you don't but don't forget to do it in a polite manner. Everything you do here, you do it with courtesy. Be yourself and do not form(we like to do that alot grin). I respect the fact that We are also brilliant and intelligent and we must prove it to them, contribute your own quota when you are having a group discussions or presentations, be bold and have confidence in yourself.

And lastly, everyone wants to study in Canada for various reasons at the same time we all want a greener pastures. Please my brothers and sisters, it is very easy to pronounce your dream of studying in Canada but the issue is how to completely achieve one's dream. When we all get to Canada, never forget your primary assignment. YES Canada is beautiful, fun filled and also availability of part time jobs for students, don't be carried away. Remember your dreams depends on your Inputs and output in school and also your destiny lies in your hand, you decide either to remain in Canada legally or illegally(be ready to face the consequences).

Pardon my long post and ignore my errors,I didn't proof read.

I wish everyone all the best life have to offer, may we have the coz to always thank God for his favour in our lives.

Gracias!

Not sure I understand your question, but will try answer both ways they play out...

Reference letter from your previous employer will suffice.

You can use a reference letter from your current employer as well, but have you been working there for up to 3 years? You will need to have been, if you want to claim all 3 years work experience from there alone... Otherwise, you will need to add the letter from the previous company.

Hope this helps.
Since i am presently out of job, I will use reference letter from my previous employer to apply. i hope this will be okay.

If i am presently not working in a company but had four years working experience with my previous employer can I collect their reference letter to use for the FSW application or wait till i get employed with a new company before i can use their reference letter.

Nonsense! After the display of nonsense that happened in Osun, I'm surprised these Muslims are still clamouring for their female students to wear hijab.

This is why I've always reiterated that the law of the land should stand supreme, that no group have the right to force their religious habit(s) down the throat of government.

It's high time we separate religion from governance in this country. The clear presence of religion is causing enough squabble as it is already.

This is not good.

This should be fought all the way to the Supreme Court. I personally, for security reasons do not support this Hijab thing.

Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the World, and still it is a secular Country, where strict Muslim codes of dressing are not enforced or allowed in Schools ,ditto Senegal.

This is a bad move by this Judge.
But in US and UK allow use of hijab and it is never an issue

Jubilation as Court of Appeal grants right to wear Hijab in Lagos‎
Posted on July 21, 2016 by Editor MSSNLagos in MSSNLagos // 0 Comments

There was wild jubilation at the premises of the Court of Appeal in Lagos State when the right to wear Hijab (Islamic headscarf) in public Primary and Secondary schools was granted on Thursday, July 21, 2016.

After the judgement, Muslim males and females were seen praising God and exchanging pleasantries.

Most of them were shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’, ‘Alihamdulilah’‎, meaning Allah is the greatest and all thanks is due to Allah respectively.

With the verdict, it means that Muslim students in Lagos State public schools have the right to wear Hijab on their school uniforms both within and outside their school premises without being punished or victimised.

While delivering the verdict on Thursday, the justices set aside the verdict of the lower court (Lagos State High Court), which earlier disallowed the use of Hijab.‎

The special panel of the Court of Appeal set up to hear the case had previously reserved its judgement on Friday, May 27.

During the panel hearing, the presiding justice, A.B. Gumel, also asked parties involved in the case to update their defence documents.

Other Justices in the five-man panel set up by President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa are Justice M. Fasanmi, Justice A. Jauro, Justice J.S. Ikejegh and Justice I. Jombo Ofor.

‎The case is between Asiyat Kareem (Minor) suing through Mr. AbdulKareem Raji; Mariam Oyeniyi through Mr. Sulaimon Oyeniyi; and Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Area Unit (suing through its president, Saheed Ashafa), against Lagos State Government (LASG) and others, who were the respondent.

It would be recalled that Justice Amina Augie of the Court of Appeal in Lagos earlier affirmed that granting of the right to Muslim students to wear Hijab in Lagos State schools needed constitutional interpretation.

Justice Augie while granting the right to hear a case on the Hijab matter on May 3rd, asked the appellants to write the President of Appeal Court to set up a full court (of five justices) to hear the case.

In the case, the appellants want the judgement of the lower court to be reversed, while the defendant wants it to be upheld.

Responding to the judgement, the President of Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria in Lagos State, Saheed Ashafa, expressed delight over the pronouncement by the court.

While saying the right to wear Hijab was long overdue, Ashafa urged all parties to act in accordance with the judgement.

He said, “This is victory for Islam! Victory to Muslims. The words of Allah have come to pass. We are glad that there are few judges whose neutrality has not be stained by sentiment.

“We wonder why we had to face so many challenges before our right is granted. This recognition and truthful interpretation on freedom of religion as enshrined in the Nigeria constitution (Section 36) and United Nations Charter, will further strengthen public trust on the judiciary.

“Today will remain historic in the life of every Muslim in Lagos and Nigeria as a whole. We will remain law abiding and appeal to all and sundry not to act in ways and manners that are contrary to the judgement.

“This should mark the end to harassment, embarrassment, victimisation, cheat and all acts of wickedness unleashed on Muslim female students who wear the Hijab.”

Also, Amirah of MSSN in Lagos State, Hafsah Badru, described the Hijab as a religious garment, which should be put on at all times.

“Justice can never prevail over injustice, truth will always prevail over falsehood; the commands of Allah are supreme over all man made laws. Allah is the Greatest. We have not asked anyone not to observe their religious right in respect to legality, we have only asked that ours should not be tampered upon, and as Allah wants it, we have the right granted,” she said.

She, subsequently, appreciated all Muslims and Islamic organisations who supported the Muslim students to get their right to wear the Hijab on school uniform granted. ‎
