pacespot: It is just a matter of time before we realized that there are hundreds of Nigerians already infected with the virus. It is now time to make use of the testing kits donated to Africa by the founder of Alibaba business group Mr Jack Ma in Nigeria. More Nigerians are definitely infected with the virus except this new case is found in the isolation center. Yes...thousands do carry it without showing symptoms. Even in the US, you don't take a test when you don't show symptoms. The issue is those not showing symptoms ( mostly the young population) transferring it to the very old who are the vulnerable ones. It is when symptoms are seen that you take a test or when you feel you should take a test because you went close to an already diagnosed patient. Anyway you look at it, many carriers do have it without the symptoms and not everyone is required to take a test |

It’s highly possible that right now there are people moving around with this virus in Nigeria which these Health Agencies don’t even know about. FG close border o and restrict people traveling in from high risk countries, dem no gree. We’re playing with this outbreak she is no foreigner but a Nigerian from UK. So if the test is done and it is discovered that she has it, she is then been quarantined and treated. What better actions do you think that should have been done ? |

MansoryMX: You believe all that craps WHO is feeding you and people keep on dying everyday from it. Oga go watch DW News, EuroNews and CCTV. CNN and BBC just dey follow WHO instructions and WHO Dey follow world power instructions so as not to cause global panic. Secondly, I am not surprised the media are happy it’s spreading gradually in Africa, after all the rest of the world has never meant well for Africa, Bill Gate saw this coming, he knows what world powers wants to do to Africa since we nor fit self destruct with civil war, genocides, ethnic war, religious war and terrorism. Before Bill Gate decides to resign from Microsoft and focus on Philanthropism I knew something is fishing and dude wanna make sure he helps Africa and scatter their plan. I won’t be surprised if Bill Gate dies today. Na Africa fit to depopulate, there was never equality or unity in this world. you are Funny... Euronews, DW news you called are they health bodies?...All what they report are still info they get from WHO. I hate CNN, CNN will make you panic unnecessarily. They are already using it as a political tool to fight trump. See the way they overexagerate the virus to make Trump very unpopular. Actually it is CNN that is trying to cause global panic and please these things are not hidden. The mortality rate of the virus, who are more vulnerable etc is not something that is a conspiracy. The panic will cause more harm than the virus itself. Of the 150,000+ infected, more than 80,000 have recovered with about 5,000 deaths worldwide and the other thousands are recovering in the hospital. See what these media do, they only show new cases and deaths without highlighting that thousands are recovering. This create panic which eventually is affecting everything. Some people here believe that when you catch it you will die immediately, which is very false...I blame the media. The virus morbidity is the issue not its mortality. It spreads fast but doesn't kill so quickly like Lassa, Ebola or even its sister Virus SARs....the vulnerable still remains the immunecompromised, the old and very sick. It is a novel flu virus that affects the lungs and in the worse cases it gives pneumonia symptoms which is what kills the vulnerable ones. This has nothing to do with CNN, DWnews or EUROnews...they are all facts, scientific facts...news is just media and sometimes don't show things the way they are....they are about 3 trial vaccine already being tried but will take months before it is approved based on protocols... |

Reference: Slow government. Theey are waiting to be hit by a bus before acting to close all borders. They fail to realise that being behind the infection curve will leave Nigeria in the lurch when eventually other countries recover and we have not. Case in question is China which is recovering and is now barring other country's citizens from coming.
Africa may as well become the hotspot down the line and it is then we will feel the whole weight of the discriminatory world. We either have the pandemic now that other countries have it or we avoid it totally. Our actions feel as if we are welcoming it with open arms, even daring it to come with a kind of pomposity I just cannot understand.
Folks it is a mistake. When you get the pandemic is a more important economic question than how many are affected. I predicted the economic consequence of this pandemic almost a month ago when folks hadn't even heard of the viral outbreak. Throughout the world the battle against this pandemic has been entirely an economic one. One of capacity and resources to fight it. Northern Italy will run out of money by March end. That is the 9th largest economy in the world with a population not even in the top thirty.
How will Nigeria cope. An economy that was already bankrupt yet we are waiting for the virus to come before taking action. Nigeria should close all its borders now and begin to restrict unnecessary movement and public gatherings while there is time. Let us as a nation not be amongst the last countries to be infected so that we will not be amongst the last to recover. That will be a triple tragedy. watch how deaths won't be recorded in Africa like China and Europe... We keep on hoping on bad...the virus is not as deadly as Ebola and Lassa for even Lassa mortality rate is about 40%.The mortality rate of covid 19 is about 1-2% and the most vulnerable remains the old which Asia and Europe has more of that. 98% of people that have the virus recover and Africa has the youngest population compared to any other Continent....If you check well the people that are dying are the very old....the average age of deaths of people in Italy is 81 yrs, In China it 70+...What Africa has is that we don't have an ageing population but a young one...let's also look at the positive. Just yesterday the first volunteer to be tested by the trial vaccine was tested in the US, China new cases is now almost zero and the country is getting back to normal. Look at the way the media reports Africa, as if they are happy our cases are increasing or they are justifying something...Read the post well and you know this foreign media don't mean well for us Lastly we can't shut all border like Europe, they can cope economically but we can't. Bro if we totally shut all borders and airports na you go beg Government to reopen am...Do you know the kind of suffering that will start due to economic hardship |

Reference: The problem is not the mortality, it is the rapidity of the spread. Sick people simply cannot work. Imagine all your soldiers ill, all your police ill, all your prison warders ill, all your doctors ill, in Nigeria all your oil production workers ill, all your energy workers ill. Governance and the organisation of society will simply collapse. The cost of economic living will simply escalate beyond what people can cope with. The virus is not the problem. It is the societal effects that is. That is what is called a pandemic. it has been shown that more than half of carriers don't even show sign of symptoms or sickness...another half of the carriers show mild symptoms...Only about 10% of cases do need hospital care and about 5% or so cases get to the severe level and do need intensive care. Of these 5-10% is mostly the very old with a weak immune system or weak lungs that needs support systems |

MansoryMX: So Africa nations cannot close its borders? Which kind mumu continent is this? People flying in from Europe have a better chance of getting good health care over there, why still allowing flights into Africa. We will never learn. Angrymode: I fear for everyone in this country with our careless government. A country where majority don't go for checkup when sick and the government feels they are managing the viral spread well. How can they even even say that when not up 0.01% of the population has been tested?
Look closely and you will see the death death rate for people already sick and the elderly has spiked slightly.
With this one our borders are still open, I can categorically say the virus is in every state and FCT already. Well, in GOD we commit ourselves because our government is stupid and lie about everything.
HIV test is absolutely free or next to nothing with testing centers virtually everywhere but how many of us get tested every 6 months to know our status? Yet we are relaxed about this Covid 19 as if GOD gave us inbuilt immunity against it. I pity us all!!! drop your statistics to show how death rate has spiked, don't speculate on something you can't show facts for |

MansoryMX: Make una continue to dey deceive una sef. Na when people begin fall ill up and down before una go know the kind useless government we have. People like you will be overjoyed to hear bad news so that you justify whatever you want to justify Even WHO has applauded Africa for their response to the virus, but you believe they too, they don't know what they are talking about. Do you know that European airports were not testing travelers for the virus when they landed? Do you know the American tests go for as much as $3,000? Do you think 80% of the American population could afford testing? It spread because people could not even go to hospitals to get tested, because It was too expensive Some of you can never believe that the white men you worship are fallible, you will rather believe that Africa is not doing enough, than that Europe/America actually messed up. Let me tell you, if this virus was actually here, we would know. You know why? Because people would be dying at an alarming rate and someone would have spread word, the same way people were dying in a village in Bayelsa, and we heard it. The same way people died of Lassa fever in Ebonyi and we heard it. People are not falling and dying, the virus has not spread, Africa is the least affected continent, white people can't believe it, so, they have convinced gullible negros like you, that it is your fault that the cases aren't widespread, that somehow, your government can detect Ebola and Lassa fever, but Corona Virus is too advanced for their minds, that all of you live on trees and in huts, so, you would not be able to detect a virus amongst you. |
