Politics › Re: Is Imo State Currently The Least Developing State In Southeast? by MXrep: 3:52pm On Jan 08, 2016
omenka:
The lull in developmental activities that characterise second "termers" in Government Houses across the country, regardless of their political party, is really unfortunate. The only governor I've seen that kept the pace, back to back, is Fashola. Former governor of Benue state, Senator George Akume did perform well also, but handed over to a criminal who plundered the state for a good six years (I said six because there were some noticeable things he did in the first two years of his two terms admin).

This trend is encouraged by the fact they don't "need our votes anymore" but that of their constituents to run for the Senate (which is where they all want to go after 8years). This was the reason why I saw some merit in the 7years single tenure proposal. But God forbid we make a bad choice and have to live with it for 7 gruelling years! cheesy

Politics › Re: List Of Nigerian Cities By Population by MXrep:
Igbos live in autonomous communites. Each city is meger between numerous towns that maintain a separate identity. For Eg, Modern Onitsha is no longer limited onitsha main town which makes Onitsha North and south LG since the city has swallowed numerous neighboring towns such as Nkpor(Idemili LG), Ogidi (Idemili LG), Obosi (Idemili LG), Nkwelle (Oyi LG), Nsugbe (Oyi LG), Oba (Idemili LG), Odekpe( Ogabaru LG, This is where Onitsha naval outpost is located). etc with dense concentration of highrise appartments but they maintain their original comunity and are not counted as part of Onitsha, but in other places, they all adopt a single name and counted as one entity. Onitsha and its evirons is the most populous part of igboland.
PIC Obosi and Nkwelle: Every body calls this places Onitsha except those in the know, but during census their data is captured as seperate entities

Because we have those houses with red zincs, does that take away the beauty of other places in the city? Because we have ghettos like ajegunle in lagos, does that mean a place like banana island is not in the same city? Below is phyno in enugu, i hope you can see the background.

https://i.imgflip.com/t4xas.gif
Dats Abakpa, Enugus ghetto, everywhere has ghetto, but ibadan problem is that it seems like the ghetto covers 90% of the city. enugu's ghetto are isolated and away from the city and not large. see Enugus skyline and compare with that of Ibadan

One thing is clear, If jona had succeeded, we will be paying 20% VAT and borrowing heavily to sustain 'our' 70% recurrent bill. How on earth will a man who couldn't cope with $108/B for oil with heavy borrowing run same economy with $38/B oil price? I rather have him fight corruption for four years than one fake 'hero' who couldn't succeed as governor of Nigeria most wealthy state on a income per head basis.
Lets face what is happening now and not waste time on what would have happened which is totally irrelevant now

Politics › Re: "Yorubas Are The Most-Favoured Economically In Nigeria"-Ex-Minister Adamu Ciroma by MXrep: 2:09am On Jan 04, 2016
TolstoyFan:
Three-time minister, and onetime governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN), Mallam Adamu Ciroma has said Nigerians are still learning how to live with one another as the country was amalgamated just over 100 years ago. Ciroma made this known in an interview with Vanguard when asked about his take on economic development. In his words, the elder statesman said: "Biafra, this Biafra, I tell my Igbo friends, Biafra, for what? This Nigeria is too small for you Igbos. All over Nigeria you will see Igbos everywhere. If you go to Ghana, Igbos everywhere. If you go to Niger, Igbos everywhere.

"If you go to South Africa, Igbo everywhere; this Nigeria is too small for you. But now you want something smaller, what does it mean? It means that people sometimes do things without thinking very deeply. But education is to enable you to think and to solve problems. What the Igbos are saying is that they want Biafra; I just remember only recently the Yoruba leaders said they want to break, break from where. The Yoruba are probably the people who economically enjoy Nigeria more than anybody, economically. So why are they going? So my own problem with Nigeria is that many people say things without thinking."

http://dawntodusknews.com/yorubas-are-the-most-favoured-economically-in-nigeria-ex-minister-adamu-ciroma/
Thats why they are scard of being alone, so they can keep "enjoying" while others are working. they are economically "favoured", favour is term igbos hate with passion. why should someone be favoured at the expense of another, do u know its the weak person that needs favour??

Prospect of a possible alliance between the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN and Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, was dashed yesterday in Kano as the leader of the party and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu described CPC as parading “expired leadership.”

Tinubu told ACN supporters in Kano during the party’s Presidential rally that: “What Nigerians need now is a transformation in leadership” as obtained in the advanced economy.

The two-term Governor of Lagos State explained that the leadership of ACN was offering Nigeria the brilliance of Nuhu Ribadu who, he said, is in the class of Nicolas Sarkozi of France, David Cameron of Britain, Medvedev of Russia and Barack Obama of the United States of America.

“What has CPC got to offer? We certainly don’t need expired leadership as we are offering the best in terms of brilliance, courage and patriotism in the class of Sarkozi of France, David Cameron of Britain and Barack Obama of the USA.”

Tinubu’s position came on the heels of Ribadu’s declaration penultimate week in Kaduna when he hinted during a political rally of a joint ticket between the two opposition parties to confront the dominance of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The national leader of ACN criticised President Goodluck Jonathan for shying away from the national debate held last Friday, stressing that”that singular act exposed Jonathan as a coward who has nothing to offer.”

Buhari was an expired leader to Tinubu in 2011 and became a messaih in 2015.

The real truth is that yorubas don't own a any of the industries they boast with, unlike what is obtainable in the east. Giving out lands for white man to build is no brainer
