Sweetguy25: The civil war happened over forty years and under military regimes. I don't know why they failed to setup a development commission but the truth is that the easterners failed to take any action towards ensuring that something sort of that nature was instituted to redress the problems. The level of destruction in areas you mentioned is nothing when compared to what terrorism has done to north east. Even the whole world is aware of that and foreign donations have been pledged to ensure that the north east is redeveloped. It will be terrible if news goes out that a bill that was supposed to redevelop a war torn part of Nigeria wasn't passed. What will the international media say? You have to commend the reps for doing the constituencies proud and condemn your own reps for not doing anything to better the lives of their own constitutuencies... So how can easterners alone make any impact in Parliament? Are we not supposed to be our brothers keepers?? is it not the whole North that achieved the NEDC, did they pass the buck to 3 boko haram states alone?? |

Intrepid01: My Brother why are you people always playing the victim? No one is a baby that needs to be baby-sitred or over-hyped in order to do what must be done. You all need to get it, all regions and tribes are in a common square playing game. It is every man for himself. Northerners and Yorubas came together in 2015 cos they both had an similar interest, not cos they are or were at any point friends. That is how it works. I have said it on Twitter and elsewhere, an igbo president can only be achieved thru alignment of igbos with other regions. To think that other regions in Nigeria will wake up one day and say truly it is the turn of the igbos, my brother it will never happen. By igbos like other teibes will position theirself for it. No one dislikes the igbos. It is even more funny when igbos despite all the years of friendship and peaceful co-existence still see Yorubas as enemy.
My Brother people only talk about how Awolowo gave all ibos with bank deposit before the war 1 naira but they don't talk about how all igbo properties in the SW were duly preserved for them. All the accounts of neighbours who took in their Igbo friends when they came back from the war.
My brothers igbos are you not to be dwelling on past events, in life we all need to move on no matter what. Let us agree all the other tribes mistreated the igbos, yes, ain't the igbos gonna move on after 40yrs?
I think the best way to even achieve Biafra is to even bury the hatchets and move on, align with others to get the presidency and then take a decision on Biafra. You can't cry of malignment when you win part of the deal.
Please don't dwell on he Biafra part of you wanna reply me, let's talk about moving forward.
Trust me Yorubas so vote en-masse for a capable igbo president anyday anytime. Remember aw Yorubas voted for GEJ, you remember he was deliberately positioned by OBJ a Yoruba man. But igbos need to show that they have left the past , they have to earn the trust they need. Igbos moved on long time ago, Nigerians refused to move on and it is the reason Nigeria will remain in poo. |

Look at these shameless hypocrites wailing up and down? I thought the north is the messiah that protect them from igbos?? i thought Gowon has apologized and IPOB can go to hell, they give you apologies and take 3% VAT? The south had a better chance to fight for whatever it wants under a southern president Jonathan but we southerners brought him down for refusing to do their wish of marginalizing igbos, and went for a northern bigot to do it for them, now they want to fight the north wen it had cornered all powerful positions?? They will soon dash you crumbs an make you gloat over how you are better off than igbos and that's the end |

OBJ a man from sw raised resource control to 13%, In the last national confab SW Delegates proposed 45 to 51% resouce control, SE leaders were asking for Additional states so What are you talking about? Please don't turn history on its head. Additional states was canvassed by all geopolitical zones, every zone came with a proposed state. masseratti: i hope you guys will learn after Azikwe and Ekwueme, you guys should face the Northerners and stop screaming Yorubas in your dreams. Political alignment is not bad, but it should not be slave/master style like the one yorubas just did out of desperation. Yorubas were never suited for national politics, since independence |

yorubas should know that it is impossible for them to get what they deserve when the North has an advantage, This is a regime for the North, they destroyed a southern regime because it failed to marginalize igbos for them, now they have an anti igbo regime but they will only manage crumbs, so they should shvt up. Igbos will move en masse to the NE when the money start flowing there, milk the money and repatriate home |

T9ksy: My bad................of course na, afterall every ibo man is a millionaire!
It will interest you to know that zik did try to implement free education in the Eastern region after Awo's in the western region but fell flat on his within a year upon the realization that he just can't raise the requisite levy to fund the venture.
Anyway, my initial post was in response to another poster who claimed that ibos invested heavily in education in the 50's. zik does not want to run a slave plantation like Awo, igbos have a tradition of keeping small government and allowing individual to flourish. Igbos actually hate free things with passion |

Tall building in the midst of shanty rusted roofs does not make any sense, all the upper floors are now home to a variety of rodents and reptiles, we don't engage in needless ego massaging projects. |

Congrats to the largest commercial and industrial city in the Southeast with the best teaching hospital. go and settle your problem with chino and stop spreading it to other states, all igbos are happy with good development, and will also give any non performing governors serious knocks. And just for the records, Nnaji is from Enugu state, so its not a taboo if Imo man does same for Onitsha |

Sibrah: How come it wasn't discussed or carried in media? I remain vigilante. did you fall from Jupiter? Geometric was completed 3 years ago. It was to supply directly to Aba, but after the privatization of Discos, Emeka Offor bought Enugu Disco which included Aba, thereby causing legal tussle. If fashola's settlement of the matter is for Geometric to supply to national grid then he did nothing but begging for help from Geometric, but if it is for direct supply to Aba then i will praise fashola forever. It is this same confusion from Abuja that made Obijackson to put his proposed power plant at Okija on hold, he would have finished to capture Onitsha/Nnewi industrial zones. |

AZeD1: The issue between Barth Nnaji and the owner of EEDC was settled by Fashola. should we praise fashola or Nnaji, Fashola is struggling with darkness and begged nnaji to help. I will only only praise fashola if it is not connected to the national grid according to original agreement, but it seems fashola begged nnaji to shift grounds and supply to national grid to save him from the darkness he is supplying to nigerians |
