Your headline is a bit misleading because the National Headquarters of the RCCG has not endorsed this. On your headline, you should have emphasized the fact that a paris/area/zone/province/region is being turned into a political party.

Please i would like to know the difference between a parish/zone/area etc and the name Redeemed Christian Church or does being parish change the fact that it's a RCCG church?

If you read through the post and comments, you would find that the emphasis was bold enough. Churches shouldn't be turned into political grounds.

Your query should be channelled to the RCCG for allowing its parish to be turned into a campaign ground.

Religion / Edo Redeemed Church Campaigns For Ize-Iyamu? (Photos) by mynaija123(m): 2:25pm On Aug 30, 2016
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Edo Region 13 headquarters (Trinity Sanctuary) in Benin City, Edo State has been converted to the PDP campaign office of Mr. Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the September 10 election.
According to an eyewitness, banners of the PDP and its candidate adorn all the walls of the church only the altar is spared the disgrace.
Regional Pastor of the Church in Edo State, Pastor James Dagunduro and other ministers in RCCG who should preach Christ and convert sinners now preach Ize-Iyamu on the altar.

The Regional Pastor, we learnt, has given instructions to parish pastors to canvass for Mr. Ize-Iyamu in their parishes, a situation which is causing ripples in the church.

Two campaign jingles of Mr. Ize-Iyamu were repeatedly played in the teenage Church of Trinity Sanctuary on Sunday 21st August and no other message was preached to the teenagers.

A Minister in the Church (names withheld) who complained that the church was being turned into a political arena was reprimanded and shut down.

A member of the congregation who lamented the sudden development in the church told this reporter that a Minister who dared to voice his objection to the development has been transferred over the development.

It was learnt that Provincial Pastors in the church now hold meetings on the Ize-Iyamu project against the interest of their parishioners who are averse the PDP and its candidate.

Many parishioners and members of other parties who can’t stand the new development are leaving the church in droves as they see it as a strange doctrine in the church.

Many see the Ize-Iyamu project as an extension of the failed Government of former Mr Lucky Igbinedion, who ran the state aground from 1999 to 2007.

It would be recalled that Mr. Ize-Iyamu, who is a Zonal Pastor in the Church, had confessed to the EFCC to have collected N700 million from the Dasuki arms money and shared among his party chieftains, and nothing has been heard from the Edo church in condemnation of this.

Recall that in the Presidential election of 2015, General Overseer of the Church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye did not openly canvass for President Buhari and Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo in spite of the fact that Prof Osinbajo is a Senior Pastor in the RCCG who ministers at the Holy Ghost Services and Conventions of the Church.

Aggrieved members of the Church are now calling on the respected General Overseer of the Church, Pastor EA Adeboye, who is known to be very strict with workers in the Church, to wade into the Edo Church before things go completely out of hand.

Crime / Hillarious Encounter With A 419ner by mynaija123(m): 9:41am On Feb 04, 2016
Exactly two weeks ago, a lady dressed as a Custom Officer on her Facebook wall, sent me a friend's request. Seeing her age and rank, I accepted. Thirty
minutes after we became Facebook friends, she sent me a message on both my wall and inbox that The
Nigerian Customs was selling impounded cars at cheap and affordable prices.
I immediately knew that the lady was not for real.Typical of me, I would have deleted her from my friends
list, but I deliberately opted to humor her by playing along. I called the number she sent in her advert, and it
was a man who picked. I told him I wanted to talk to Femmy Juliana but he said she was his boss blah
blah....and that he was her PA. He said I could do business with him as he represented his "madam".
I told him I was interested in the Murano which was
listed for N500,000 and that I needed to know how and
when to pay for the car. And of course, where I could
pick my car! He told me that I had to pay first. He explained that after I'd paid, Madam would then finish
all the processes involved at the Nigeria Customs headquarters for me because "she is an insider." He reiterated that if I come in myself, I won't even be
considered. I feigned agreement to his suggestion. Next he told me he would send a bank account number for
the payment while calmly reminding me to keep safe the Bank Teller as my proof of payment. I said I understood.
24 hours later, I was yet to pay money into his account.
(Perish the though! I don't have that kind money in any of my accounts.) He started calling me and I kept ignoring his calls. Within an hour, he had called me 47
times and I knew he was "killing" my phone battery. So I
picked his call and calmly told him that my bank had blocked my account (because of BVN) and I needed to
deposit N25,000 before I could access "my over N2.5million in that account."
He urged me to get the money quickly or "Madam may change her mind and give the Murano car to somebody
else." I told him, in desperate tones, that I don't want to lose the car and I was doing my best to get a loan of
N25,000 in order to access my account. Two hours later, he called to know how far I had gone in my quest.
I told him I was still stuck. Then, I casually begged him to loan me the N25,000 after which I would now pay
back N30,000 to him plus the cost of the Murano (that is N530,000). Grudgingly, he agreed. I thanked him like
my life depended on it. Then I sent him an empty account I seldom use.
Within an hour, I got an alert for N25,000 paid into my account from him. I have caught the "mugu". He called
to inform me that he'd paid in the money and I should go get it and activate my account. With a wicked smirk
on my lips, I told him that I was grateful for the gift of the money and he could go to hell. He started shouting
and I hung the phone on him.
He kept calling and I sent him this text:
My name is Davidson Rotshak Lar, am a Police Officer.
I work in Kebbi State Police Command Hqts. My office is on the first floor of the State CIID building. Come and
get your money here, Mr. 419ner. I only got my own share of those you had scammed." I haven't heard from him since. His phone number is
unreachable. We are now trying to use the Bank Account number he gave me to see if we could arrest him through the address he supplied. I now appreciate why banks are so meticulous when you go to open account. But am richer by N25,000

Politics / Oshiomhole To Okonjo-iweala: I Await Your Lawyer’s Letter by mynaija123(m): 4:15pm On Dec 03, 2015
Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has told the former Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala that he is awaiting the letter from her lawyers, but that she should explain to Nigerians how so much sleaze went unnoticed under her watch rather than parrying the issues.

Reacting to the former Minister’s statement, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Prince Kassim Afegbua said rather than respond to issues, Okonjo-Iweala was making self-indicting statements on how she denied Edo people the funds needed to develop critical infrastructure. “She should be ashamed to even state that she denied Edo people infrastructure loan, when she could not redeem what was due to the state. Would there have been need for loan request if she was truly in firm control of the economy under her watch?

He said: “Is it not ridiculous that the former Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy pretends to be ignorant of the sleaze and primitive looting of the nation’s treasury under her watch? Does it not prick the conscience of Okonjo-Iweala that so much financial improprieties were perpetrated right before her nose and yet wants to be celebrated as a super Minister? Does she want to absolve herself of the abysmal performance of the economy under her watch during the Jonathan years?

“From the revelations so far and the manner in which our resources were plundered in the last administration, it is crystal clear that Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was grossly incompetent to manage the nation’s economy especially on account of the huge sums of money running into billions of dollars that were stolen under her watch. Such incompetence will be further complicated if it is assumed that she looked away while some people helped themselves to the nation’s treasury.  Either way, she is complicit.

“We have no doubt in our mind that, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, from all indications, has shown a remarkable attributes of a voodoo economist and one who rather than answer very simple questions by way of clarifications, easily condescend to base sentiments to divert attention. She has numerous questions to answer with respect to the management of our collective patrimony. What manner of a Finance Minister will allow huge sums of money to be withdrawn from the Central Bank of Nigeria with whimsical stroke, dealing with individuals in a way that eliminate the usual control that should be the hallmark of such body? How can a World Bank former Managing Director allow such conduct right under her watch without raising concerns?

Those organizations which have been trying to dash her awards must as a matter procedure carry out due diligence to properly score her, else, one would have cause to suspect that such awards may have been procured.  Anyone giving her award will be doing Nigeria and Nigerians a great disservice in the face of on-going investigations and revelations that have exposed the rotten underbelly of the Okonjo-Iweala years. In the meantime, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole awaits the letter from Okonjo-Iweala’s lawyers, but she should be reminded that public officers are accountable to the people and should be ready to answer questions on their role while in office or out of it.”

Politics / Oshiomhole Orders Probe Of Igbinedion Over ‘stolen’ $31m by mynaija123(m): 7:26pm On Nov 04, 2015
Lucky Igbinedion
The Edo State Government has begun moves to recover the sum of $31 million allegedly fraudulently taken from the government’s coffers during the administration of Lucky Igbinedion as Governor.
This was part of the decision reached at the end of the State Executive Council meeting held in the state on Wednesday
Briefing the press at the end of the meeting, the state Commissioner for Information, Louis Odion, said: “There is the issue of a fraud that was discovered while turning our books. We found that the sum of $31 million was fraudulently taken from state coffers under the administration of Chief Lucky Ogbinedion. The Comrade Governor has directed the Attorney-General to commence legal action in that direction.
“So in the coming days, the state government will take legal action to ensure that what was stolen from Edo State Government is recovered. When you convert $31 million to naira, it fetches you a whooping N7 billion. You can imagine what N7 billion will do in improving the human condition in Edo State.”
Odion, who praised some landlords and companies in the state on the level of their compliance with the land use charge, said: “Comrade Oshiomhole has asked me to convey his appreciation and gratitude to the good people of Edo State as well as members of the private sector for their voluntary compliance with the Land Use Charge.
“He has asked me to single out Coca-Cola Bottling Company for voluntary compliance. I think we need to put this in context. Our challenge as a government is mounting. Every day, our citizens want government to intervene, they want schools to be built, they want roads reconstructed but the truth is that our revenue is dwindling and without deepening the tax base, we won’t be able to deliver.
“So when we find corporate body and citizens who voluntarily comply by paying their taxes, we view them as partners in progress.
“We have also been directed to put on notice the CEOs of some companies, notably Banks who have refused to remit what is due to the government. I am speaking specifically with regards to some banks that have failed to remit withholding tax to the state government.”
Throwing light on the $31 million fraud, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Hon. Abdul Oroh, said: “The $31 million, which was stolen from the people of Edo State for the transaction, which was designed clearly for criminal purposes. This project was called Avrant Cement Company situated at Ekpe, near Ikpeshi in Akoko Edo Local Government.
“The company was supposed to produce cement to take advantage of the large scale deposit of limestone in that part of the state. The company was registered as Abat Cement Company Limited and this company had three shareholders. The Abat Cement Company had 75 per cent shares, Edo State Government had 15 per cent shares and 10 per cent shares were reserved for ‘other Nigerians’.
“Although Edo State Government was given only 15 per cent share, 100 per cent of the revenue invested in the company, $31 million, was taken from the account of Edo State Government. This money was withdrawn from the account of Edo State Government under Afribank. As the money was withdrawn, construction of the company started and all the major structures were in place, 90 per cent completed, machines were installed but there was no other contribution from any other source for the construction and procurement of these equipments. So everything invested in that company came from Edo State Government.
“It is on record, according to the shareholders agreement, those who claim to be first share holders, Abat Holdings were given 75 million shares representing 75 per cent, the second share holders were given 10 per cent and the third share holder, the Edo State Government, was given 15 million shares representing 15 per cent. The agreement was signed by Fashunu and Governor Igbinedion, who signed on behalf of the shareholders.
“The fruit juice processing company in Ehor was established in 2001 by the Lucky Igbinedion’s administration. The cost of establishing that company was N368,458,195 (Three hundred and Sixty Eight million, four hundred and fifty eight thousand, one hundred and Ninety Five naira) was invested in this company by the Edo State Government. The company was owned 100 per cent by the Edo State Government. The materials for the company were imported from England from a company at a sum of £310,000.
“The company was now sold, including the land and the three hectares pineapple farm, which was also developed by the Ministry of Agriculture for N283.8 million. The company was completed and there was a test run. There was no reason to privatise it and it was sold out at a give-away price, which only could have been influenced by criminal intentions.
“There is also the one at Ikpeshi, the Solid Mineral Processing Industry. This company which was also owned 100 per cent by Edo State Government was established in 2003 at the sum of N85 million. This company was sold to a company called Copex Solid Mineral Processing Company owned by Chief Mike Ogiadomhe, the then Deputy Governor, for N56 million.
“There were other criminal transactions. If you look at the fertilizer company in Auchi, most of the equipment installed at the point of commissioning were all fraudulent because they were outdated and not useful and fertilizers were procured from somewhere and released as being products of the company.
“At Okpella Cement Company, they manipulated the transactions to the detriment of the people of Edo State and to the adversity of the state economy. When the Comrade Governor came in, in 2009, the Governor had to re negotiate the whole process of the Okpella Cement. As we speak, the company that is running the Cement Company now has invested about $500 million and very soon, they will be producing cement in the new plant and in the old plant that has been re activated.”
On his part, the Chairman of the Edo Internal Revenue Service, Chief Oseni Elamah, said: “We have some organisations who have decided to play the role of not being responsible corporate citizens notable among these are those that have held back withholding taxes, specifically the banks, withholding taxes on interest due on fixed accounts of individuals that reside in Edo State.
“The sad aspect is that we have to go through the route of going through detailed tax audit to be able to discover their non-compliance and having established what they are owing, we made demands on them, but some of them have gone to the extent of even refusing to pay and resorting to all kinds of litigations against the state.
“I need to point out that there are two aspects to this issue of non-compliance. First is that it is a criminal offence for you not to remit taxes to states. It amounts to tax evasion and then, the amount involved must be recovered by the state. We have recovered some of these amounts from some of the banks, there are quite a few that have decided not to respond.
“The state government has authorized us to proceed with the criminal aspect and in the next few days, we are going to arraign the Chief Executives of these institutions in the law court for possible liabilities on tax invasion which is a criminal offence. It doesn’t matter whether they have remitted the amount which was discovered to be outstanding even they are still withholding such money.”

1. Thats not Oshiomhole holding the umbrella.

2. Oshiomhole is an elected Governor of edo people so has more mandate and authority from edo people than the IG who was just apointed by the President.

3. The IG has a mandate to secure nigerian lives including that of the Governor.

4. The IG is answerable to the nigerian state of which oath he took and must take orders from the president to carry out his oath of office else will be replaced.

5. Governor Oshiomhole can only be replaced through a vote by either the people of Edo or the state house of Assembly.

6. In a place where the IG is the only policeman, he has no choice than to protect an elected person if by carrying an umbrella, yes he would.

To summarize, the inspector general is to carry an umbrella of a sitting Governor. If you dont like the person, simply dont vote the person cause your vote goves so much authority to that person.

Leitner:
I think the answer is brain.

The sentence" write an exam" does not literally means you want to go and write something down. It means you want to go and solve the questions you will be given in a particular exam.

It's just like saying- "I want to go and SIT for an exam". Of course you have to sit before you write an exam but it doesn't literally mean you will solve the exams by sitting. It's the brain that actually solves the exam,Sitting, writing, having eyes to see question papers does not necessarily make you pass exams. There are people that are disabled and still, measures are taken for them to "sit or WRITE the exams". Whereas without a brain,my brother you can't "WRITE any exam o".

In summary- it is possible for you not to be able to write(if you are disabled),and through other measures write an exam and a day after,say- "I wrote an exam yesterday.

Whereas without a brain, you can't be able to write even your name,Matric number or even cheat sef. Meaning you. Are not different from someone that didn't come for the paper @ all. And therefore, you dare not a day after say- "I wrote a paper yesterday".

I should be a Lawyer. grin .

Too much long story. Just say the brain controls all.

Science has proven that already for you lawyers sef. Lol

Oshiomhole holds 10-km “Thank You” road show on APC victory

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State led thousands of APC faithful on a 10-km road show round major streets of Benin City, Monday, to celebrate victory of the All Progressives Congress in the House of Assembly elections held in the state, last Saturday.

The “Thank You” road show which commenced from Ramat Park on Auchi-Abuja road took the Governor and the party faithful through Ikpoba slope to Ewah Street, through Gani Fawehimi layout, to Guobadia Street down to New Lagos Road to New Benin through Mission Road to and ended at the Oba Ovoramwem Square, in the heart of the state capital.

Addressing the mammoth crowd and party faithful who danced all through the road show singing melodious victory songs, at the Oba Ovoramwen Square, Oshiomhole said, last Saturday’s victory of the APC was the final nail on political coffin of expired godfathers in the state.

He said: “everybody here, all Edo men and women have again spoken, you have reaffirmed your confidence and trust in my stewardship. You have renewed the vigor, your commitment to change and last Saturday, you completed the first chapter in this journey.

“You know I told you some few years back, we terminated godfatherism when we voted again and again to bury the godfather but as we bury them, Abuja puts them on oxygen mask. They have been on oxygen for so many years. I told my friend and brother, President Goodluck Jonathan, why are you putting these godfathers on oxygen?

Oshiomhole added, “You remember the President came to Edo and said Edo will fall in 2015 and 2016. I said in the name of God our creator, He will not abandon us and I said Jonathan will fall, has he not fallen? And I said the godfather will fall, has he not also fallen? Where are they today? From Edo Central to Edo South, all the godfathers have finally perished.

“We now have a completely new energetic, imaginative, rugged and dogged political leadership. I am proud of Edo people and I want to thank you so very much for being there for me and I promise that I will be there for all of you. I will give my all for the Edo people because if you imagine plans of the enemies, while we were campaigning for change for progress and development, they were plotting to use acid to bath my political life.

“They did advertorials, they did all kind of abusive campaigns but God said the devil is a liar. Today, like I told you at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, people like us conquered fear many years ago. We will stand on our feet and fight on the basis of our convictions. We will not go down on our knees to beg those who themselves are living on the quick sand of time.”

He said, “I am very happy for the referendum that took place on Saturday. The election of Saturday was a referendum between the godfathers and the great people of this great state. We know who the godfathers are. Of course, one or two escaped the first day but by Saturday we finished them.

“I salute the fighting spirit of our people in Esanland. We took the fight to the doorstep of the godfather and his young godson, we dealt with them and have now formally restricted them to Uromi. We caged him from Ubiaja, then we nailed him from Irrua and finished him at Igueben, so it is complete. I thank God that at the end, God used me to nail their political coffin and thank you for being part of it”, he said.

“To the Edo woman, we will do our best to support your commercial life and we will do for you much more than we have done before. To our youths, this struggle was about you. You have all come out in huge number, you bore the risk, you sweated, you did not sleep and by the grace of God, we are now in a position to reposition you and to empower you”.

Continuing, Oshiomhole maintained, “To our elders, we will revisit some of those programs that are specifically targeted at our elders because the elders have prayed, they have had sleepless nights praying against the devil and as you can see, God has given us the victory.

Mogidi:

I'm not only from Edo state I also reside in Edo state.

Then you must be blind not to see the Airport Road, Sapele Road, Siluko Road, Mission Road, Akpakpava Road, Teachers House or Upper Siluko e.t.c and all the school's in edo state. Lastly you are also blind not to see PDP led by their chairman Dan Orbih crying daily over their spilled milk made of looting.
Since you stay in Edo, please try to visit Apostle Johnson Suleiman for your healing.
