I'm not Yoruba, but: ASIWAJU IS COMING ! He is coming because his ambition resonates with the larger Abiola story. He is coming because God in heaven rewards hard work and strategic planning. He is coming because it is Nigeria's O'clock. He is coming because populism is a recipe for perennial poverty- facts. He is coming because his manifesto was the most meaningful and practicable. He is coming because his track records are more sterling. He is coming because of his ability to assemble near-perfect teams that inspire development. He is coming because he had the majority of votes cast and scored 25% in not less than 25 states of Nigeria. He is coming to set the republic free. |
CHRISSANCHEZ:APC gave the Gubernatorial ticket of a significant northern state to a female who almost became the 1st elected female Governor in Nigeria before the election was declared by INEC to be inconclusive. APC gave the Gubernatorial ticket of a North Central State to a Rev Father who would be governing without a first lady. The youngest legislator in Nigeria is a female Muslim from the North Central under the platform of the APC. Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP, a Christian, signed a bill into law to criminalize and punish non-binary people and others under the LGBT umbrella. Despite the call of Christian fanatics to stop Big Brother Naija, the federal government allowed it to thrive. It came back in 2017 under Buhari. It was held in Lagos in 2018 under Buhari. James Brown, Bobrisky etc have all thrived and inspired new dimensions of self-confidence and uniqueness under the APC. They were clamped down when PDP was in power. Most importantly, there's no proof and no statement, orally or written that links Shettima to extremism order than the fact that he was the Governor of Borno State during the worst days of Boko Haram. Deductively, it means that Hope Uzodinma and Charles Soludo are IPOB/ESN sponsors because terrorism currently lingers in their States. |
Congratulations Hon Isah! Although I'm not from Sokoto I have a request. I encourage you to dare to defy the norm regarding jungle justice for "criminals" who default blasphemy laws. Sponsor a bill that criminalizes the practice where aggrieved and faithful worshippers take laws into their own hands by murdering suspects of blasphemy. Those who blaspheme should be arrested and tried by a competent court and not killed like animals on the street. What happened to Deborah was tragic. It negatively affected the image of Sokoto State nationally and internationally. Thank you. |
Datti is a terrible character. He is an extremist with an evil heart. Even as a senator, he was the only out of 109 to propose a bill for homosexuals and others under the LGBT umbrella to be killed. He literally gave a lengthy talk on the floor of the national assembly about why gay people should be killed. His colleagues, fellow legislators, who are extreme in their own way were shocked at the level of Datti's extremism. With Datti's antecedent, no developed nation of the world would trust him in public office. When I reflect during leisure hours sometimes, I wonder why "progressive generation Z" in Nigeria let the anti human rights proposals Datti made in the past to slide. Was it really about progress, positive change or something else? |
The problem with drug tests in sports is that many athletes do not take prohibited substances willfully. Some of the banned substances are contained in over-the-counter medicine and even food. Pro athletes should be careful of what they use. |
The counter protests will be televised 🔥 |
The National Assembly should enjoy the independence of selecting their distinguished leaders and officers. The executive through political associations shouldn't influence Legislative processes. |

geoworldedu:Kidnapping is the effect of a cause. In the 90s and Early 2000s when e-banking infrastructure were not developed, what we had were highway robbers. It was why Bakassi boys were formed because traders were victims. As people started travelling without cash, the crime evolved to kidnapping on highways. It was more like, "since they don't have cash with them, let's steal them so that their families and business partners bring cash to us". When banks are short of cash, the crime of kidnapping will be less productive and gradually fade away. Regarding misappropriation, with time it will be difficult to withdraw 200k over the counter. |

Apart from my political bias, I love and admire Mr. Emefiele's commitment to a cashless economy. It will benefit Nigeria in the long run. Let's cooperate for the sake of our future. A cashless society will check embezzlement and misappropriation of public funds. It will reduce terrorism financing drastically. Focus should be on improving e-banking infrastructure and enlightening computer illiterates on the need to evolve. |
Portable is the quintessential case of the negligence of mental health in the country. From the dancing patterns in Nigeria, you'll know that plenty Nigerians don kolo. The mentally deranged fellow should be committed to care in a psychiatric hospital Asap. |
Let me say this loud, clear and unequivocally: I really love Peter Gregory Obi. He presented hope for most Southern Nigerians who are only existing and not living life. I know this because I feel ashamed everytime I step out of grocery stores and malls with trolleys full of quality consumables, not because I'm a thief but because of the hopeless faces whose children would sleep without food. I really respect Peter Obi because he proved the tribalists and those who treat Igbo people with disdain wrong. He won the FCT and Lagos. He won Nasarawa in Northern Nigeria. He defeated an Hausa Speaking elite in Plateau State (Northern Nigeria) where he won with hundreds of thousands of votes. He won the South South, a zone that's believed not to have forgiven Igbos because of the civil war excesses. Peter Obi reassured those of South Eastern heritage that they are loved and welcomed in Nigeria even though their rightful turn to lead their country was denied. He did all these with a party that was inexistent in National Politics about 365 days ago. I love His Excellency 👑 Peter Obi because of his determination to enshrine in the depth of the typical Nigerian a new political orientation of virtue signalling, empathy, humility, political correctness, diligence, workaholism, and humanism. If he won, his government would have been one with the least intervention of "godfatherism" in our political culture. It is not Mr Obi's fault that he wasn't my choice or the choice of more than 8 million others . It's the fault of democracy that allows people to choose the leader they believe in most. If there was no Asiwaju, it'll be Obi for me. I'm still mourning the fact that he came third instead of 2nd. Kobonaire4:I think we're working on a competent regulation of the power sector. Regulation is what is lacking in the power sector. Jonathan's privatization of the power sector was not backed by strong legislation unlike Obj's transformation of the telecommunication sector. There must be strong laws against offenders who don't pay bill and connect electricity lines without approval. The law must permit the Discos to enforce compliance through courts that must hear and decide on those crimes within 30 days or a shorter period of time. The Discos must also have legal backing to enforce breach of contract against the Gencos and get justice within one Month in specialized tribunals. The law must prevent Government regulation of consumer prices. |
Apart from excursions like this, many contemporary school pupils are deprived of writing and comprehension skills which emboldens them to express their opinion on social media violently. Teach them the subtle arts of expression and eloquence. Let the children learn paradoxes, oxymorons and ironies peculiar to the Nigerian story like, "the sun rises in the west and sets in the East" so that they can retrospect even as young people. Let them write essays about their outings. Examine them to ensure the trips improved their lives. God Bless Nigeria. God Bless Lagos State. God bless the pupils. |

Seun, can you make a list of words that are prohibited so that our freedom of speech is not ridiculed in the guise of fighting tribalism. Make a comprehensive list or a comprehensive definition of what tribal slurs are. Define tribal slurs and what can pass as tribal slurs if there's no list. Thanks. " Tribe of the fallen demon" has been used to insult people here. It's a phrase not even a word. SAY NO TO TRIBALISM OR CYBER BULLYING. I STAND AGAINST BOTH VICES AND CONDEMN THEM AS A GOOD NAIRALAND MEMBER! |
Philgafauto:I'm not Yoruba. I'm not Muslim. |
Afonjanawerey:I'm a promising, handsome young man. She left Igbo suitors for me. I'm special. She's so delicious. |
Philgafauto:I'm not Muslim. I'm dating one of the most beautiful girls on earth. She's Igbo. She wouldn't date a Muslim. |
I love Imo girls 💕 |
Philgafauto:I'm APC. I'm not Muslim. |

His mother is from Imo State - facts. He took the flat hèad of his maternal grandfather and it explains why he's wanted in the UK 😂 |
