Aforxzy:I had the column removed in my build in order to optimize the ground floor parking space design from the aspects of column network layout. For me, it’s a case of choosing functionality over form (aesthetics). Not having a well structured column layout can/will affect a car’s turning radius in a multi dwelling apartment. |

New Project Alert 🚨 Today, I pop into our upcoming project site to see what’s happening around me. If you live around Ikeja, you cannot but notice Alausa Heights which is one of the biggest thing happening in Ikeja as of today. I’m happy to inform you that we’re bringing you something bigger, cleaner, safer and something that’ll also give you higher ROI pretty close to Alausa Heights. Watch out! segcymoor:Looking good! ✔️ I guess you’re doing more than one floor. |

Thanks for sharing. I’d go with something without the horizontal slats so the design doesn’t get unnecessarily cluttered.
|
naijacreativeha:You’re the best! Looking forward to doing good business with you in not too distant future. |
Meanwhile anyone with pictures of nice tyrolean jobs or stone walls like below should please bless me with them. I need to draw inspiration for a featured wall and some column design job.

Took delivery of my WPC deck but the delivery guy forgot to deliver the accessories. Play suspended till Monday.
|
sonnie10:This will really help your project and give you good mileage. Here’s a message from my client (someone at the same pedestal with Isa Pantami) on managing challenges on my current project.
|
sonnie10:E be like say those una site worker don make you leave English accent 😂😂 No vex sir! Na play I dey play o 😂 |
Rotecch I just got my fitter on phone now. He said he’s having running stomach. I’m currently begging him and of course going to send him another fund for him to take care of himself. He does not understand how important he is to a multi-million dollar project. ========== Many atimes, we end up spending thrice the amount charged for a particular job to get the job delivered. For me, I always treat those extra funds as my marketing nairas. |
n3xt:So I finally settle for a WPC deck for this ramp project. I’m awaiting the supplies so that I can quickly tidy it up. Thanks to Sonnie and Gbadexy for your valuable contributions. It matters!

The cost of pumping water on a project is often being overlooked until you’re acting as a project manager. If you’re not called to fix the Gen, you’re buying oil or at the point of need rushing to buy fuel. They might even call to tell you the generator has been stolen or ask you to employ a security guard to watch over the generator as no one is ready to take liability and you have to do your best to ensure the site keeps running. This explains the reason I always have 2 generators on every site whether paid for or not. My mental health is very important to me. |
You’re buying the Gen because you’re the project manager on your project. If it’s someone else’s project, I’m sure you’d be taking liabilities for the damages. ========== I took a generator to a client’s project at no cost to the client. While suppliers were trying to drop filling materials for him, the truck lost control and ran over my generator. The client said why did we leave the generator where it was. This didn’t happen behind him. He was there physically when the truck ran over the generator and the welders working on the project were using the generator as at that time. I fixed the generator and move on 😂😂 |
sonnie10:Hmm! And you haven’t caught any fraudsters yet? Managing construction projects in Nigeria is tough. I bought safety helmets for some of my Cotonou guys, they started using the helmet to drink garri. I bought my welder a very nice safety welding glasses, he stated using it as a fashion glass. I paid a subcontractor to deliver me windows, he travelled to Mecca 😂😂 And this is something you have to deal with and accept responsibility for everyday. ======== Yesterday I send fund to a fitter to transport himself to a project in Ikeja. He called me 2 hours later to tell me he’s not using the account again. He sent me another account around 2:00am this morning. I’ve sent him another money. Right now his number is unreachable 😂😂 |
rotecch77:Smiles! You’re doing great! It’s not easy managing construction projects in Nigeria. Not even now that there’s shortage of skilled artisans. E ku ise! 🙌 ======= I don’t do too many jobs but the ones I do will make people turn their heads. Me I don’t believe in begging or lobbying to get projects or doing plenty shalaye on top projects. Seeing is believing! |

Reeefe:A lot of engineers understand these BUT fear of failure of the structure on the part of the Client and the Builders makes many people to alter their design on site. Secondly, you can’t do these on a project where you’ have a limited budget. Neither can you achieve these on a project where the contractor/engineer only visit the site whenever he feels like. It’s a job that requires total attention to details. The consultant engineer on my project always show up unannounced to check what we’re doing on the project site. ========== I was part of the construction of one massive hall project (not as the main contractor but as a finisher) during the Covid-19, regardless of what the engineers and the engineering drawings said on the project, the client insisted that columns must be introduced at the center of the hall to support the roof.

rotecch77:Wow! Congratulations bro! More wins! ============ You know say me I no dey get job laidat 🌚 I just finished discussing a 17 unit semi detached duplexes at Adeniyi Jones with a developer who came to visit me on site today. The baba is ready to drive the project with a 6m pumper. |
Micky4rl:Thanks for your concern. We’re working things out! |
sonnie10:It’ll be shocking to hear that I’ve only visited Orile market twice in my whole life. If it can’t be sourced online locally, I’d look for a similar product abroad. I’m currently expecting the delivery of my scaffold debris net. I searched it online and got what I wanted and asked the supplier to deliver to my site. I don’t want to know whether he’s coming from Jupiter or the moon. Anyway, I’ll send people out to get me the dust sha. |
sonnie10:Gbese! 😯 |
sonnie10:Baba, the only difference is marble dust is not something I can pick from mama monsura and I no wan go buy e dey work like marble dust. This is Naija! I hope you understand me now. |
While waiting for my guests, this is what the soffit of an 8.5m beam look like. I can now imagine the tedious work that went into the preparation of Formwork for a 16.1m beam.
|
gbadexy:Thanks. |
sonnie10:Ok. I always buy 900 bags trailer 😂 and this might confuse many other people who do not understand your logic. |
Gbadexy Can you recommend me where i can get a very good floor paint? About 2 litres should be good enough for the 4 x 7ft ramp. Thank you |
Gbadexy I found this product from Centrecoat. I think this should work like the marble dust. I intend to take on the ramp project next week. https://www.promain.co.uk/centrecoat-anti-slip-additive-for-floor-paint.html

Someone saw this on my project and asked what am I doing with foam on my structure. I’d be back to share few things about this lovely product by Izocam Make I go prepare for work, make mummy mmotimo no come dey use me shine 😂😂
