topsy23:Way to go! I imagine if this was a 20 floor building with 40 tenants, will they have installed 20 tanks? |
5starsgeneral:Just in case he’s unable to meet up, you can check out Stoneworks in Akure. I use them about 10 years ago and till date they’re the best I’ve seen so far in quarry business. No cheating! No headache! No worries and they’re very professional. https://www.nairaland.com/1338637/chateau-ile-oluji-construction-journal/2#16643921 I don’t have their contact information as they were introduced to me by a client here but you can ask around or use Google search to find out more about them. Note: I don’t do supplies. I don’t even know where stoneworks is. The client buy directly from them and get them to supply whatever I need to my site. Please do your due diligence. |
dongc:Clean 👌 |
Akerewe:He can use it for blinding, slurry concrete to fill block hollow space, block setting, or foundation slab (German floor). |
Akerewe:You can only use falcon for low load bearing works. |
This is a cool way for you to chop cool money from your project. |
..
|
somehow:Smiles 😂😂😂 Desperation - the tragedy of unpreparedness! |
Chekitaut:He can use falcon for foundation slab and average height buildings. Falcon cement is great for plastering because it enhances the strength of your mortar by reducing the clay content. |
rotecch77:Sure! There’ll always be a room for those with champagne taste on a lacasera budget. See Below 👇 Pic 1. Expensive Processed Roofing Wood Pic 2. Cheap Palm Tree Roofing Wood that can last forever 🌚

I want to carry out Non-Destructive Test on one of my project. It’s going to cost me N500,000 (officially). The civil servants are asking me to give them PR to help me fasttrack the test so that I can have my result in few weeks or do the right thing and wait forever for the result. Can you see that the problem is systemic but we keep blaming the people? I’m being compelled to cough out N30 - N50k to get my job on time or wait forever by choosing to do things right! This wouldn’t happen where the system works! |
sonnie10:The problem is systemic but we keep flipping people. People want to do what is right and want their peace of mind in every transaction BUT then the bureaucracy and redtapes are just too many. I was in the surveyor general’s office to track the status of an application for governor’s consent last week. You need to see the way the guys there were making things difficult for us as if we were there to beg them. Anything that would require you to meet with a typical Naija civil servant is bound to be difficult! ======== Last week, I was served a notice by a team led by one of the newly sworn-in commissioner and other top civil servants. They left a phone number that’s not going on the notice. No email address! No detailed contact information! Am I supposed to be going to the commissioners office anytime I have any concern or need to clarify anything I’m unclear about. These are the things we could do online but they will never allow such happen. The same apply to land transactions. By now, Lagos should have a repository where land buyers/owners can pay to obtain information about any land in Lagos without having to talk to one Barrister/TPL/or a muyiwa working in the commissioners office. But then, we are first Nigerian! |
visaclick:Smiles. I’m not crooked bro but you can say I’m a strong willed person. It might be shocking for many people to hear that I actually draw and I silently mentor a lot of young builders currently working on many projects here. We only have one life to live. I’m fulfilled touching lives and making impact in the lives of the younger ones.

Wall Cracks and Causes Culled
|
dominic17:It’s a while I do this. This is a non-structural crack. Many factors can cause it. 1. Poor concrete mix 2. Your concrete curing faster than normal. 3. Poor compaction of the filling soil beneath the slab. Poor filling materials can cause it as well (in a case where you use rubbles to fill your foundation) 4. Having root of a large tree around the foundation can cause it as well. 5. and so on. Get an experienced building engineer to inspect the foundation to determine the cause and ways to fix the issue. |
sonnie10:What would you have done in this situation though? I want to learn and I have something to share as well. |
visaclick:Yeah! It was cooked 30 months ago. https://www.nairaland.com/6450270/construction-journal-xl6-trillion-atrium#99966996 It’s just that I keep good records of my activities for verification purposes. That’s why people like us won’t wipe off our records on Nairaland no matter what! |
folmus:I hope people won’t say na only me dey know things. 😂😂😂 I know of an estate where one of the land urchins living close to the estate built his 2 bedroom bungalow through stealing of materials from various sites. They always do their dirty works at night. When I was working in that estate, I had to buy paints to paint my iron rods to prevent them from being stolen because they always cut chains when you chain them together. One person told me “Na only rods wey you see you go dey check whether e get paint or not” ======== But then, there’s this site I’m currently working. We have over 70 tons of rods outside without chain in the past 6 months and nothing has gotten missing. Even the offcuts are intact!
|
folmus:Sorry about this. Those guys in your site are very terrible people! I know of a site like this. You MUST only buy materials that you can use up in a day. If you get more than you can consume in a day, you won't find the leftover the next day. Some part of Lekki Scheme II (inside inside) were like this some years ago. |
topsy23:For contractors only It’s good to ALWAYS include Inflation Escalation clause in every contract/estimates/bills given in time like this. This is the best way to ensure that projects/contract costs remain aligned with the prevailing market conditions. It’s tough though! _________________ For home owners When there’s excess fund, buy what you need ahead. We bought all the iron rods on my ongoing project at 430k / ton. |
rotecch77:There’s always a price to pay for quality. If the thing dey, spend am 😂 |
walexProjects:Yeah but it’s best to help them see things from the lens of pros. As good as multi-split systems are in larger apartments where installations can prove to be very difficult, I still have my reservations on it for the following reasons: 1. Breakdown If anything happen to the outdoor unit or any of the indoor units, it affects all. You can’t maintain/service the system individually. 2. Efficiency I won’t compromise this for anything. Longer pipes reduces the efficiency of the system. 3. Cost Multi-split systems will only make sense on projects where the cost of installing conventional split unit ACs will be higher than the cost of purchasing and installing a multi-split system. |
walexProjects:For the size of the project involved (2 bedroom flat), does it really worth it? Looking at the price tag. |
lester12:I’m interested |

CaptainZubi:Take a snapshot of the system information page and send to me WhatsApp: 0 80 234 29 122 If it’s a 13th Gen laptop, I’ll buy. |
CaptainZubi:I have elitebook. I bought one here about a week ago from PrinceMila and it’s serving its intended purpose. I don’t want to buy something that won’t serve my need.
|
CaptainZubi:Thanks bro! I’d have loved to pick the laptop but the configuration is unsuitable for the applications I want to install on it (see the attached) Thanks for your business!
