Sports › Re: Maradona Slams Argentine Team, Compares Messi To Argentine Comedian, Patoruzu by nabegibeg: 8:55pm On Jul 01, 2018 |
FootBallBlood: Diego Maradona has heavily criticized the Argentine captain, Messi over their loss against France that led to Argentina crashing out of the tournament yesterday.
Lionel Messi saw his country exit from the round of 16 encounter against the European side after his unconvincing role that called for the Argentine iconic head.
However, the Argentine coach left his proven strikers Gonzalo Higuain, Sergio Aguero and talented Juventus attacker Paulo Dybala on the bench and handed Lionel Messi a false nine position of which Angel Di Maria and Cristian Pavon where on both wings.
Lionel Messi’s display led to the Argentine Legend Maradona attacking the Barcelona player, thereby comparing him to Patoruzu, an Argentine comedian.
Maradona said, (I watched Leo very closely; Messi was very far from the goal. Yes he was put at No 9 but he has to bring the game together. We are talking more about Patoruzú than about Lionel Messi).
Diego Maradona also laid dig on the Argentine manager Jorge Sampaoli on his selection of the starting XI.
Maradona continued, (It was evident from the formation, Pavon, Messi and Di Maria had to go to attack, they had to get in the area around the penalty box, push the centre-backs and trap them in. Yes they can create play, but; they are not forwards).
Nevertheless, the Argentine Legend has been causing stir on the way he celebrates his country whenever they score.
During the match between his country Argentina and Nigeria, he was examined by the medical staff at the St Petersburg stadium after he was seen causing and using his fingers in laying the abuse.
Now that his Nation have been eliminated from the world cup, we are yet to learn if he will continue watching matches.
Their continental competition will come up next year, and Diego Maradona wants new and more trusted players to showcase their talents as to be used in the next Copa America.
When quizzed on the players to choose from, he said, (We have to aim at the kids, go through the good things that the boys leave us with even though they won’t be there anymore, We have to try to inculcate the sacred fire that at times seems to be lacking in Argentina).
Lionel Messi is yet to make announcement on his International future, but many believes that this will probably be his last world cup outing as he will be 35 at next world cup in Qatar come 2022.

Politics › Re: We've Paid June Salaries Without Federal Allocation, Says Ugwuanyi by nabegibeg: 8:55pm On Jul 01, 2018 |
Babygiwa: ...as Opi community endorses him for second term
Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State on Saturday disclosed that his administration has paid the salaries of workers for the month of June without receiving the federal allocation.
Gov. Ugwuanyi added that despite the fact that he assumed office at the time the nation’s economy was in severe recession, his administration has been regular in payment of workers' salaries, even when 27 states could not pay.
Speaking during an endorsement rally for his re-election in 2019 by the people of the "Ancient Opi N'Ato Kingdom" in Opi, Nsukka Local Government Area, Gov. Ugwuanyi attributed the successes recorded by his administration, in spite of the nation’s economic challenges, to God's grace and the state government's commitment to the wellbeing of the people of the state.
Recall that the monthly meeting of Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) on Wednesday, where allocations for the month of June 2018 was to be shared among the federal, states and local governments, ended in deadlock.
Speaking further, Gov. Ugwuanyi, who was overwhelmed by the large turnout of people at the colourful rally, reassured that his administration will under all circumstances continue to cater for the people of the state and initiate programmes that would address their needs, saying: "since we handed Enugu State into the hands of God, we can see His hands in all we do".
The governor thanked the people of the area for their support, solidarity and endorsement, urging them to embrace peace and unity for rapid development. He stressed that "what is paramount to us is good governance and development of the rural areas".
Earlier in his welcome address, the President-General of Federated Opi Town Union, Dr. Sam Ugwuoti, commended Gov. Ugwuanyi for his good works across the state, especially "the beautification and rehabilitation of the Opi - Nsukka road into a modern and beautiful dual-carriageway with street lights".
Dr. Ugwuoti assured the governor that the people of Opi "will continue to support you" and "assure you unreservedly that come 2019 God will still keep you there in your seat as the Governor of Enugu State to continue to shepherd the people of God".
"Your Excellency, we assure you of our votes. Everybody here has a PVC. We shall vote for you and your team. We shall return you to the Lion Building to continue to do good", they declared.
Other prominent figures at the event includes the Deputy Governor of the State, Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo; Senator representing Enugu North senatorial district, Senator Chuka Utazi; Member representing Nsukka/Igbo Eze South Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Pat Asadu; Senator Fidelis Okoro; Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area, Hon. Vita Abba; Director General, South East Governors Forum, Prof Simon Ortuanya; Deputy Chairman of the Council, Hon. ChangeIsCostant: Senate president, Bukola Saraki was totally shocked after 2010 World Cup champions, Spain were knocked out of the ongoing tournament by Russia. The senate helmsman who has been in Kwara state since Friday for series of events, watched the heated match as he was visibly surprised that the match ended in favour of the Russians through penalty shootout.
The 2018 World Cup hosts, Russia held their nerve to beat Spain to a ticket to the quarterfinals of the competition.
After playing a 1-1 draw right from the first half, Russia and Spain went all the way through extra time and there was nothing to separate the duo except penalty kicks.
As it turned out, the host were better prepared for that; scoring all their kicks. The 2010 champions could not do same; a development which has now seen Spain emerge as the latest big-name casualty at Russia 2018, after Germany and Argentina.

pjosh1: I use a Lexus es 330 and I have changed the battery twice in a week, at first I thought the battery I bought was fake not until I bought the second battery and I still have the same problem. Whenever I park and off the engine the car refuses to start unless I start the engine with another battery then put in back mine. I don't think it's the alternator because sometimes after using another battery to start the car I can still drive it out, park and come back home without giving me problem and sometimes it just won't start after I park. I also noticed when I'm driving at night if I put on the headlight my dashboard light will go off, the AC will go off and the DVD system and sometimes even without putting on the headlight the AC and DVD goes off. I'm afraid of calling a rewire to come check it because they sometimes just create extra problems. I just bought the car not up to a month Buy a new battery and or change / check alternator If you can drive the kind car you can afford it |

CastedDude: A nurse identified as Josephine Iyamu has been convicted of heading up a criminal network that subjected vulnerable Nigerian women to voodoo rituals before trafficking them. The Nigerian lady reportedly forced the trafficked women to swear oaths to hand over money to her during "juju" ceremonies.
According to media reports, Josephine denied trafficking five women from Nigeria to Germany and exploiting them for prostitution across Europe.
But following a ten week trial, a jury at Birmingham Crown Court today convicted her of modern slavery offences and perverting the course of justice.
The 51-year-old's conviction is the first successful prosecution of a British national under the Modern Slavery Act involving victims who have no connection to the UK, but have been victimised by a UK national.
Her husband was found not guilty of perverting the course of justice.
The National Crime Agency began investigating Iyamu in July 2017 after the German Polizei identified one of her victims and recovered evidence pointing to her being the ringleader of a network trafficking vulnerable women.
NCA officers tracked down Iyamu, known to her victims as Madam Sandra, to a small flat in Bermondsey, South London, where she was working as a nurse.
The voodoo rituals saw the women forced to eat chicken hearts, drink blood containing worms, and have powder rubbed into cuts, the court heard.
According to reports, the case is the first in England and Wales in which a British citizen has been prosecuted for sexual trafficking offences committed outside the UK.

Samiah Oyekan-Ahmed wrote a binding document for her son to sign ahead of the holiday period. The document is a list of rules which regulate screen time, game time, and even the amount of snacks that can be eaten during this holiday.
Included in the document are conditions that have to be met before her kids can enjoy these holiday benefits. She also listed consequences to be faced if the rules are flouted and also alternative ways her kids could engage themselves.
A lot of parents found the rules to be quite brilliant and say they plan to try it with their kids.
Sharing the document on Instagram, Samiah wrote; "Holiday soon! God help us all!

Vicrotica: Suspected members of a notorious confraternity have been carrying on nefarious acts against the innocent students living around the Alakahia village of Port Hacourt. The cultists have devised a means of intimidating the lodge occupants and looting away with valuables. Due to the poor security settings of this remote region, which is close to the University Of Port Hacourt back gate entrance.
In three major incidents, these cultists have made their way into one of the lodges, broke into one of the occupants room and threatened him with guns and other weapons, they now manipulated the occupant into knocking on other inmates door with the pretense that he wants to see them, on opening the door, the robbers storm into the room and beat up whoever is in there and take all available valuables. The unsuspecting inmates would open the door thinking its their friend, not knowing that the robbers are hidden behind. They use cutlasses and sticks to beat up the inmates as they loot any valuable around.
This schemes have been employed to rob some lodges like Philomena Lodge, Ave Maria Hostel and many other student lodges in the Alakahia axis. This has created a state of unrest and trauma among students. The police don't seem to be interested in such case.
We call on the appropriate authorities to interfere and resolve this issue.

The chairman of the electoral body disclosed this when he spoke at the International Press Institute world conference which took place in Abuja.
“There is no electronic balloting in 2019. In other words, there will be no electronic voting in the next general election but technology is already being used in many aspects of the processes. Electronic voting should be the ultimate step in the chain involving five inter-related processes,” he said
Some Nigerians have called for the use of electronic voting in the forthcoming election. They argue that electoral voting will prevent rigging and electoral malpractice during the election.

Bigmugu: @NAIRATREND
Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha has told former governor of the state, Chief Achike Udenwa to remain in Abuja because Imo people will stone him if he enters the state.
The governor said Udenwa was a failure who achieved nothing after eight years as governor of the state.
Okorocha was reacting to an interview where Udenwa described Okorocha as a colossal failure whose projects in the state were usually cosmetic and often collapsed before completion.
Speaking through his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, Okorocha said Udenwa was a broke politician seeking attention.
He said, “Udenwa ruled Imo State for eight good years; let him come and show Imo people what he did for them those years. It is not enough to criticise; the facts are there.
“In the case of Okorocha, he has been in office for barely seven years and has over 1000 projects and still counting. Anybody who comes to Imo will see that he has changed the face of the state.
“Okorocha is a grassroots man and Imo people like him because they know he has their interests at heart. Most of his investments even before he became the governor are in Imo State.
“If you come to Imo State and criticise Okorocha, the masses will stone you. It is only the elite in Imo State that are not happy with him and we all know why. Udenwa who is talking, live in Abuja and does not even know what is happening in Imo State.
“If he comes to Imo State, he cannot criticise Okorocha because the people will come after him.
“You could not have governed Imo for eight years with nothing to show and you are criticising Okorocha whose projects have transformed the state and even a blind man can see them.”

Politics › Re: APC Convention: Why Nigerian Govt Endorsed Oshiomhole As Party Chairman – SGF, M by nabegibeg: 12:57pm On Jun 23, 2018 |
1Ebiscoo: The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, yesterday gave reasons the Federal Government was solidly behind Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as the next national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said Oshiomhole was the man the party needed to lead it to victory in the 2019 general elections.
DAILY POST reports that Oshiomhole is unopposed in the bid to take over from Chief John Odigie-Oyegun as chairman of the ruling party
However, Mustapha pointed out that Oshiomhole became the chosen one due to his track record.
He further explained that the nature of the electioneering for 2019 will be slightly different from that of 2015 as APC will be showing its scorecards to the electorate as against making promises that was the case in 2015.
He told journalists yesterday in Abuja: “With skills and experience as a former labour leader and former governor of a tough state, Oshiomhole was well-positioned to provide the leadership that APC requires at the moment. I believe he has got all it takes to lead our party in the future.
“So, I have come to encourage him because I believe we need somebody like him at the moment to give the purposeful leadership that we require,” Mustapha said.
“I believe Comrade (Oshiomhole) has got the tenacity, the intellectual ability and the organisational skills having been a labour leader and served as a governor for eight years in a very difficult state like Edo. He will be able to take us and usher us to a brighter 2019,” the SGF added.
“We are a democratic party. Nobody is going to be gagged. Nobody is going to be stopped from contesting any office. But you know as part of the election processes, there are negotiations and there are agreements and there are consensus building mechanisms that have been put in place.
“The beauty about the APC is that we came from different legacy parties but we deployed all the available skills and resources that we had to craft our constitution to also craft the manifesto and even the election manifesto.
“Comrade (Oshiomhole) was a very fundamental part of it. So he understands the working of the party because he participated in the crafting of these instruments that we are using. The truth about it is that in every party and in every system, the supremacy of the party is always non-negotiable because that is the platform that produces everybody.”
