Most medicines have to enter the body for them to do their work of curing sickness.

Some medicines can be rubbed on the skin to cure rashes or some skin infections like ringworms.

To get the medicine inside the body you have a number of ways, by mouth ( swallow) , by injection either under the skin or inside the flesh (muscle) or directly into the blood usually via a vein. There are also medicine that can be given by inhalation into the lungs ( like medicines for asthma ) . There are also eye drops, ear drops and so on.

The Doctor will chose the best method of giving the medicine for that patient taking many factors into consideration. For example can the Medicine be given by mouth? Can the patient take it by mouth? Is he concious and fit enough? How urgent is it to get the medicine working? Will injection give faster action and relief than by mouth? Please note that there are some medicines that cannot be given by mouth and must be by injection e.g. insulin for diabetes.

We should allow the Dr. to prescribe how the medicine should be given, but we can ask for explanation on why this way and not the other way. In a few cases the patient can be given the choice - when it is harmless to do so.

The children kidnapped are majority girls. Some as young as 3 years, I have never seen a 3 year old Almajiri girl, and some of the boys kidnapped were on their way returning from school. You cannot use “Almajiri culture” as an excuse to invade the north and be kidnapping their children.
