Crime / Yahoo Business! by Naijaflashpoint: 9:34pm On Aug 10, 2020
Yahoo is now a trending skill eventually every young adult wants to learn as they continuously interrelate with friends, go for hangouts, scout the social media, watch the luxury and extravagant life style displayed by their mates. A recent gist on Twitter and all over other social media platforms was the case of an SS 3 student who brought a Mercedes Benz to school and and asked his teacher to hire a labourer to do the normal school clean up ahead of their exit classes!

I'm not against anyone who makes enterprise out of whatever he or she does but I'm against the boomerang effect it is causing to each and everyone of us out here on the information superhighway!

I've been a rising freelance blogger from 2018 especially on tech oriented companies and projects with the Bitcointalk forum from my tutor; Chief. Oyeodini Ebenezer (credits to him). Although this interest aroused out of my appetite in writing poems and stories etc. let me leave that explanation for another day...

In my usual way of making new friends, not forgetting my old relations with people, I stumbled into Emmanuel Umoren; a wizard in blogging and I learnt a lot especially about Fiverr a freelance service place for bloggers and buyers. But the bitter truth here is that I'm still crawling to make $50 dollar out of my services.

This truth about the storyline here is; apart from Lindaikejiblog who early mined millions from blogging, we hardly find any of her equal in Nigeria. Why? Maybe bloggers and content creators like; Ephraim Emmanuel , Raj Daniel, Arugu Enaanoe, Nwokedi Daniel Okorie, or any other person with in the street could tell me.

I have soooooooo many people say " You can't make money online with a Nigerian IP or as a Nigerian" . And to be honest, my answer is NO and YES (Thanks BankyW) ..lol

Why I said No

* There are many lucrative websites that do not really care where you are from.
* As long as you have a SKILL, then the website does not matter
* It takes honesty and harwork to make money online.

Now why I said YES, You can't make money online with a Nigerian IP or as a Nigerian;

Unfortunately, the infamous YAHOO BOYS have, for too long, damaged our reputation as honest people online. They scammed ANYTHING "Scammable" . Their greed has resulted in so many negative effect, which include :

* Blacklisting Nigerians online
* Banning of Nigerian IPs by some REALLY LUCRATIVE SITES.
* Killing the Nigerian economy by destroying chances of positive FX . Imagine if we all make dollars, Euros online, apparently, there will be better living standard for us as online business men and women.

Lately, Diezani Alison-Madueke lend her voice via CableNews.ng as thus;

"Yahoo boys is a travesty of an unfolding reality for us".

Yes, we aren't bereaved of the news about her corruption charges from the EFCC but let us swallow the bitter pills from her.

The reputable image of the Nigerian society is gradually sliding into extinction as distrust, cunning life, gimmicks, is painted as smartness. We coach children on dubious act and claim to be orienting them on business.

I wouldn't say much, my only fear is; we're now moving from a structural society to a dysfunctional one!

Politics / Nddc Saga: Our Reactions As Idiots, Tribesmen And Citizens! by Naijaflashpoint: 1:02pm On Jul 21, 2020
#LetItBeKnown
[img][/img]

Originally, the NDDC is supposed to be called OPADEC (oil producing area development commission) which would have primarily comprised of the oil producing states especially of the Niger Delta area but due to the selfishness of legislators, it's nomenclature was changed to accommodate the gullible interest of other non oil producing states.

Despite the enormous wealth created by the Niger Delta area, her people continues to suffer the negative impact of oil exploration which has affected her source of livelihood and it's environs. Even with the billions voted for the rehabilitation, reconstruction and development of the area; our representatives have stood as agents of underdevelopment precipitating untold hardship through the diversion of our common wealth into their pockets while they come home to point at the Northern man as our enemy.

A regrettable fact here is how we have been divided into three class of persons as classified by Ancient Greece whom were actually the promoters of democracy of yore. They classified person's in the society as IDIOTS, TRIBESMEN AND CITIZENS!

The IDIOTS are selfish people with no public philosophy, no knowledge, skills, character and virtue. They're all for themselves.

The TRIBESMEN are people with parochial thoughts, they're always tribalistic and see's other people's opinion as aliens. They're aggressive and loyal to their religion and tribe. Nothing seems wrong in as much as it's a tribes ideology.

THE IDEAL MAN is whom they call CITIZEN. The citizen accepts wide range criticism and accepts divers opinion. He is one who is full of skills, the knowledge of public life, and strive for the common good. He knows his rights and responsibility as a member of the society...

But with the ineptitude nature of the agitation or perhaps the confrontation of the NDDC prob by some persons in the Niger Delta, especially the supposed NIGER DELTA STUDENT UNION GOVERNMENT (NDSUG) has invariably replicated where they belong according to their limited sense of reasoning.

I wouldn't want to say much but it's disheartening to be called a Niger Deltan in an era where we eulogise those who has continuously ripped us off our hopes, they seats on us like an OCTOPUS and sucks us dry. They called the Northerner a predator but they lie, I have had friends from the North and I come to realize that they don't portray what they tell us about them!

Finally I have chosen to be a citizen without fear or favour on whose side the fire and brimstone will fall on!

Agriculture / A Graduate Of Ndu Writes About; Insight On The Constraints Of Agriculture by Naijaflashpoint: 2:15pm On Jul 18, 2020
AN INSIGHT ON THE CONSTRAINTS OF AGRICULTURE IN ABOLGA

By: Arugu Enaanoe

(Niger Delta University, Bayelsa)

Agriculture is an important human activity. It does not only provide food for the growing population in the world but also provide means for foreign exchange and accounts for the stability of both rural and urban economies.

In Nigeria, over 70% of the economically active population is employed in Agriculture and agro-allied industries. The agricultural sector provides about 90% of the food locally consumed and is a major earner of foreign exchange after petroleum. In fact, in an agrarian economy like Nigeria, the importance of agriculture cannot be overemphasized.

The Nigerian agricultural sector is dominated by small scale farmers accounting for about 80-81% of all farm holdings in the country, using crude implements such as hoes, cutlasses, etc.
Agriculture is the major activity of the Abua/Odual people in Rivers State. They're small scale farmers, engaging in all farming activities ranging from production, processing and distribution.

The Abolga people has a soil comprising all the primary elements (N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S) in large quantity and naturally rich in organic manure specifically soil fractions such as Humus and Vermiculite with high Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) of 200 and 150meq/100g respectively. They have the soil most suitable for agriculture with a tropical climate comprising of wet and dry seasons and an annual temperature of 26.40degree C.

The Abolga people are major producers of cassava (raw and processed ie. to garri, fufu, etc.), plantain, banana, cocoyam, sweet potato and other annual cash crops such as groundnut, pineapple, orange, etc and there products are major boosters of Rivers State main markets and some other markets in Bayelsa State.
[img][/img][img][/img][img][/img][img][/img][img][/img][img][/img]

Inspite of the humongous contributions of agriculture to the rural economies in Abolga, Rivers State and Nigeria at large, the sector still surfers major setbacks and decline due to neglect by government both local, state and federal.

CONSTRAINTS
According to a field survey that I carried out in 2019 where primary data was obtained with the use of a structured questionnaire as an instrumental guide, agriculture in Abolga is marked by the following constraints;

1. Level of education of farmers is relatively low. About 28% of the farmers in Abolga had no formal education, 16% had primary education, 38% had secondary education and only 18% had tertiary education.

2. Lack of involvement in agricultural associations. The study shows that about 97% of the farmers in Abolga does not belong to any agricultural association, only a negligible 3% are members of agricultural associations.

3. No access to credit loans. The study shows that 100% of the farmers in Abolga had no access to credit loans. And this has been a huge challenge to the Abolga people in cause of their production since Agriculture ought to operate in a mechanized level contemporary.

4. No access to extension agents. The study also shows that abou 100% of the farmers in Abolga had no access to extension agents and this has caused a remarkable set back in the production level since they're not informed of new varieties and initiatives.

5. Employment of Family labour as major source of labour. About 82% of the farmers in Abolga employed family labour while only 18% employed hired labour which is an indication that production is at subsistence level.

6. Effects of land tenure system. The study shows that about 87% of the farmers acquired land through inheritance, 11% acquired through lease and just 2% acquired through purchase. This shows that land tenure system causes reduction in food production in Abolga.

7. Small farm sizes. The study shows that about 74% farmers in Abolga had farm sizes less than 1 hectare (this does not include banana and plantain farmers), about 21% of the farmers had farm sizes between 1-2 hectares and only 5% had farm sizes between 4-5 hectares. About 92 % farmers get Inputs from fellow farmers while 8% get inputs from input dealers. This is equally an indication that production level will be at a minimal level because no farmer was reported to have obtained input materials from the ADP.

The study equally revealed that lack of fund for expansion/mechanization and high cost of labour are dominant constraints faced by the farmers in Abolga. Other high ranked factors are flood and pests/diseases of crops. Since the inception of the 2012 flood in Nigeria, it has become a norm that every year, we experience this overflow of waters in our farmlands which not only destroy our crops but also causes leaching in our soils.

When the flood causes a considerable amount of the exchangeable bases to be leached out in the soil, important element like Phosphorus will be tied down by Iron (II) ion and Aluminum (III) ion thereby making the soil to be high in Hydrogen ion hence, acidic and consequently unsuitable for farming because of its unconduciveness for microbial activities. The same way, pests and diseases had reduced production level as well.

RECOMMENDATIONS
Agriculture is the oldest activity of man from prehistoric time which enabled him survive as a gentle savage and even as a rational man in the present age of enlightenment and technological advancement. In other to diversify and stabilize the Abolga economy, agriculture should be encouraged at all level. Because the stability of every nation is measured by how much they can feed the indigenes of that nation.

In other to increase food production in Abolga, I want to make the following recommendations:
1. Government (both local and state), NGOs and other organizations should provide adequate funds and access to credit loans to farmers in Abolga to enable them effectively increase their scale of farming and production level consequently.

2. Government should make policies that will put the ravaging effects of the flood on check, control methods of land acquisition to reduce the negative effects of land tenure system and provide extension services to farmers in Abolga to create awareness on new incentives.

3. Young agro-entrepreneurs should be empowered by the LGA and encouraged to enable them excel in their fields and consequently increase production level in the area.

Business / Young Rivers Female Entrepreneur Speaks On Monetizing Locally Made Agro Product. by Naijaflashpoint: 8:37pm On Jun 19, 2020
It is obvious that our fate on crude oil is gradually fading off with the recent fall in the price of oil at the international market alongside the paradigm shift championed by highly industrialized countries on renewable energy resources like; solar, hydroelectricity and wind energy etc.

It is on this premise that Ilodeipe Ogbokuma, (CEO; Atik Global services), a young, beautiful, elegant and industrious Rivers indigene who hails from Omelema community of Abua central deemed it pertinent to organize a sensitization campaign in Abua central with the team; "leveraging on agro products for community prosperity" on the occasion of her birthday.
SOURCE: https://www.naijaflashpoint.com.ng/2020/06/young-rivers-female-entrepreneur-speaks.html?m=1

Ilodeipe bitterly expressed her feelings on how farmers labour hardly in their respective farms but end up making little or noting out of their time, energy and resources put together. she promised them as thus;

“I feel your pain as you invest so much in your farms but makes nothing out of it, rather those who buys from you are the ones making hundreds of thousands in their supermarkets over there in the city.”

She further classified the women according to their areas of farming and educated them on the use of mechanized farming to improve a healthy harvest and maximize output productivity and promised partnering with an Agro oriented non-governmental organization to help leverage the efforts of her people. (Below is a team of her members)

In furtherance of this dignified efforts, she invited the lawmaker representing the good people of Abua/Odual at the state house of Assembly; Hon. Barr. Solomon Sokolo to witness the historic occasion and admonish the women on his plans as a lawmaker in salvaging the women from the shackles of poverty as he promised in mechanizing agriculture in the local areas during his campaign.

The program ended with accolades from community youth presidents in appreciation of kind gesture. they thanked her for giving them a sense of belonging as a people.

Ilodeipe gave a final word of admonishment as she thanked the people for their patients and attendance, she urged them to rely on themselves as no greatest achievement can ever reach a people without confidence in what they can offer for themselves even as government tries to do their best through poverty elevation programs.

It may interest you to know that Abua-odual is a local government in Rivers state with a population of about 282, 988 according to the 2006 population census. With its headquarters situated in Ayama. It is a conglomerate of two ethnic nationalities i.e the Abua people and Odual people. While the Abua people are predominantly farmers who majors in the pineapple farming, palm oil and palm kernel oil production, cassava farming, and dry gin production popularly known as Abua first eleven while Oduals are people blessed with fertile land with a predominant population of fishermen and farmers who engage favourably in plantain and banana farming, all of which they make ends meet with.

Politics / Abba Kyari Was Secretly Flown To Cuba For Coronavirus Treatment – Nnamdi Kanu Re by Naijaflashpoint: 3:22pm On Mar 27, 2020
Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has alleged that Abba Kyari has “scampered” to Cuba for Coronavirus treatment.
Kanu wondered why former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu and former spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Olisah Metuh are in jail while Kyari, who, according to him, has looted the budgetary allocation to the Aso Rock Clinic since 2015.
source: https://www.naijaflashpoint.com.ng
There is a developing story that President Muhammadu Buhari and his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari had secretly left the shores of Nigeria seeking treatment for Coronavirus, otherwise called COVID-19 abroad.
The rumor is getting stronger and spreading like the dreaded virus itself as Nigerians are now asking for the whereabouts of their President on social media platforms.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed on Thursday debunked the rumors that Buhari has also contracted the dreaded virus.
Also the President’s aide, Bashir Ahmad, also said that the rumor of Buhari being flown abroad was untrue, sharing photos of him working from his office.
However, Kanu, not mentioning Buhari’s whereabouts, claimed that Kyari has been flown to Cuba, describing Fulani political class as the most corrupt in the world.
“IS ORJI UZOR KALU & OLISAH METUH IN JAIL WHILE THE REAL FULANI CRIMINALS ARE ALLOWED TO SCAMPER TO CUBA FOR CORONAVIRUS TREATMENT?”

Attempting all means of avoidance alone wouldn't still put an end to the spread since it's an airborne disease. Even as our scientists are working assiduously to seek for a vaccine to cure this pandemic, we shouldn't forget to seek the face of God even in our residence for he (God) cares for us and will cleanse us from all pestilence and heal our land from this viral disease in his wonderful way.

this is because he giveth wisdom to the physicians to proffer cure to disease.

Exactly, it's a time when we have to call on our God, looking up unto him as the author and finisher of our Faith.

As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so shall his unfailing love protect us from all diseases, pestilence and all forms of virus plaguing the earth.

All muslims and Christians should return to God and seek for him to cleanse us and heal our land, although that doesn't mean we shouldn't take safety measures even in our faith.

NYSC / NYSC Rejects Illiterate Graduates Of Enugu University (ESUT) by Naijaflashpoint: 9:49am On Jan 23, 2020
Three “graduates” of Enugu State University of Science and Technology mobilized to participate in the National Youth Service Corps scheme have shown lack of competence and intelligence level expected of genuine degree holders.

According to documents obtained by ESUT NEWS ONLINE, the three “graduates,” who are serving in ABUJA, Lagos and KOGI states respectively, were rejected, with formal letters sent to the state coordinators by their areas of primary assignment and forwarded to the NYSC headquarters in Abuja.

The Director General of NYSC, had informed the NUC of the presence of corps members who displayed “glaring lack of academic ability and intelligence level expected of genuine Nigerian graduates, which were consistently exhibited by the three students from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology.”

Attaching copies of letters from NYSC secretariats in Abuja, Lagos and Kogi, “As contained in the reports, the corps members exhibited signs of incompetence and low intelligence level which range from inability to complete registration formats correctly to not being able to teach pupils at nursery school level.

These inadequacies led to their rejections by their employers in their various states of deployment.”

The case, according to an insider’s account, has baffled the National Universities Commission (NUC) and prompted the setting up of a committee to “verify the integrity of the degrees,” and find out if there was collaboration by the university.

Federal education authorities are suspecting a wide-ranging scam that might have been going on for years.

To unravel how the three corps members were mobilised, the NUC has already set up a panel, comprising officials of NYSC, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the State Security Service (SSS).

The mandate of the panel, signed by NUC Director of Quality Assurance, Professor C.F. Mafiana, “is to fully investigate the report with a view to identifying the culprits, including others similarly mobilised and their collaborators, and ensuring sanctions accordingly.

The team would be chaired by a visiting professor in the NUC.”

Out of the three corps members, Jane could hardly write the Roman figures from one to 10 in words, just as she could not write three states and their capitals.

She could not provide the names of two major rivers in Nigeria, just as she failed to name three countries that share border with Nigeria.

Obioma, according to the documents, was rejected by Kings College, Lagos, after it was discovered that she was grossly incompetent to perform her duties.

A further test on her by the Lagos state NYSC secretariat revealed that though a graduate of Electricals/Electronics, she never passed any of the science subjects at the secondary school level.

The third fellow, John, who was posted to Abuja, was rejected by a nursery/primary school known as FEMA Schools because of his inability to read and write.

Having been rejected by two employers, he had to be reposted by Abuja NYSC to a bakery, pending the final determination of his case by the NYSC national headquarters.

When queried on his incompetence, John proved his incompetence when he responded in writing: ‘“I awarded a degree in Enugu State University of Science and Technology I have a probeam in my university am manegn my siefe to funsh my school.””

A source disclosed on Friday that members of the panel would soon commence probing the circumstances under which the “graduates” were released by the university to participate in the NYSC scheme.
Foreign Affairs / Martin Luther King's Remembrance Day: Our Today's Reaction As Oppressed! by Naijaflashpoint: 3:27pm On Jan 22, 2020

MARTIN LUTHER KING'S REMEMBRANCE DAY: Our today's reaction as Oppressed!

It is gainsaid that Martin Luther king Jr. has created an indelible mark in global history in his pursuit against all forms of racial discrimination, and a major contributor to the sanity we enjoy today which has to do with the equality of all race, in the fair share of things that we live to celebrate him.

We equally wouldn't fail to pay credence to advocates of negritude, pan Africanist and frontiers of African decolonization like, Marcus Garvey of Jamaica, haile selassie of Ethiopia, Nnamdi Azikiwe of Nigeria, Kenneth Kaunda of Zambia, Julius Nyerere of Tanzania, Thomas Sankara of Burkina-faso, Nkrumah of Ghana and a many but a few to mention who fervently stood adamantly in the midst of challenges to speak up for what they believe is worthwhile through litigation's, their campaigns, and series of conference. Etc.

It is sadden that the narrative has changed. Instead of a paradigm shift, we're now experiencing a drawback from the developmental strides these leaders has set in giving away their yesterday for our today. even as a growing writer, (Rapheal Alali) the fear of speaking up most times hunts the efficacy of my articles in spitting out the ineffective nature of leadership and conservative attitudes of the led in my country Nigeria and continent of Africa.

We're so engulfed with the fear of our very own shadow, the impetus to speak in the face of brutality, animosity, and all forms of oppression has been stabbed by greed, and the love of our own self, insanity has grown so wild, devouring every good left in the society.
Nobody wants to be identified as a rebel, nobody wants to stand alone, nobody wants to speak up for the oppressed, the downtrodden, the vulnerable, and have-not.

Tom Paine avers; "these are times that tries men souls". Yes, our morality has been put to test and we've all failed our conscience.
Therefore we must strive to speak up against all forms of oppression, inhumanity of man to man and make the society a better place. The society can never get better if we don't speak up against injustice, corrupt leadership, nepotism, tribalism, electoral fraud, weak institutions of government, and all indices inimical to societal growth.

Roseanne Cash avers; "The key to change... is to let go of fear.".
This is because at the gates of hell, all fears must disappear and all doubts be cast aside because he that is down needs fear no fall.

Culture / African Culture In Transit: An Analogy Of Idim Eleme Dance by Naijaflashpoint: 9:18am On Jan 19, 2020
[img][/img]
Culture as they say, is a way of life stamped in the way the people think, feel and behave. It is a treed that transcends from generation to generation.

After a brief interview with the CEO of Naija Flash Point; (a mainstream Nigerian blog site) Mr. Alali, Rapheal on the 2nd January, 2018. Who happens to be an indigene of Abua, in a bid to expatiate the historical background that gave rise to this rich cultural dance, further cite that;

"The people of AncientABUA are known for creativity, hard work, love, rich indigenous food and hospitable nature to strangers and foreigners. All these attributes gave rise to the establishment of a unified traditional institute where the laws (IILOGH EEMA) of the people are strictly followed, respected, protected and projected by the RULED Across the four clans (EMUGHAN, OGBO-ABUAN OTAPHA AND OKPEDEN) in Abua."

Certain incidents and good experiences has equally paved way for the observation of festivals in remembrance of the heroic strides of the people and the EDIM ELEME DANCE is one to be reckon with.

Historically speaking, a certain man from EMILAGHAN COMMUNITY
was on a hunting expedition in a certain forest named ELEME and out of his scout for a daily bread, there he had a sonorous song accompanied with heavenly beats of ARAKAMA (our local drums) and his eagerness to feed his starving eyes unconsciously tabled him before the Assembly of the Spirits of ELEME forest where these aliens where gorgeously dressed in radiance of red tailored by their costumes.

His adamant moves for the display beyond; channeled the knowledge of the ELEME DANCE to the EMILAGHAN people that is usually observed in every 7years.
With the advent of relative PEACE enjoyed by the people in the political territory (ABOLGA), the EMILAGHAN COMMUNITY deemed it fit to to launch the play in acknowledgment of the spirit of brotherhood embellished in the minds of the people.

It is worthy of note that Abua is an ancient kingdom and an ethnic group in Riversstate of Nigeria with wide range of historical background spiced with her rich culture, history, hospitable life, and well respected traditional system.
