losdiose: The adb and scrcpy are actually exe files, the .exe file extension is usually hidden in Windows by default. I changed the settings on my Windows explorer to show all file extensions. Go ahead and double-click scrcpy *Modified, thanks to @ge.nius43 If you double-clicked and nothing happened, then right-click on scrcpy, click on "Run as Administrator", then click "Yes". 1 Like

Prymestrr: ShadowGun Legends is free, but Grid Autosport is a paid app. They are both available on the Google Playstore. |

losdiose: Are you by chance using a Windows based system? If yes, did you extract the files in the folder? If you open the zipped file (without extracting or unzipping it) with Windows explorer and try double clicking on the application - it will not run. The zipped file must be unzipped. Apologies if you have done all this already. When you click on scrcpy.exe it is supposed to open a new terminal window (A black screen with just text). |

losdiose: You actually don't need to install anything. 1. Download the program (it should be compressed in an archive file - a zip file) *Modified* 2. Extract the contents of the archived file to any folder of your choice 3. Open the new folder, locate scrcpy.exe and then double click it to run it (Notice the presence of adb.exe, so ensure USB debugging is enabled) 4. You are good to go. 1 Share

For the newbies on the thread, I know it can be frustrating when it seems like you are been asked mundane and repetitive questions in your quest for answers. In such situations, take a deep breath, relax, and have the following at the back of your mind: - The person trying to help you cannot see what you are seeing, there is such a thing as "lost in translation" - Humility is key, when you ask for help you are only "stupid" for the period you are seeking for assistance - Don't be hasty to respond, digest what has been typed. Many a needless war has been started on this thread because the parties involved were communicating at different frequencies. Some gurus here are a bit sarcastic, while others are plain. Understand properly before thinking you are being attacked. - Anyone who takes time out to attend to your questions and queries deserves your respect. They are not being paid to do so. Anytime you feel like hulking out, turning green, and smashing stuff - remember this sober fact. - Finally, there are some satanically demonic entities on this thread whose sole purpose is to cause chaos, disaffection, and generally increase the amount of entropy on this thread - avoid them at all costs. Thank you. 38 Likes 2 Shares |

GrandMufti: As a wise woman once told me - "Character is like smoke, it cannot be hidden". However, no matter how much a person is offered; it is very disgusting, tactless, clueless, and utterly classless for said person to love leading people astray. I am sure, once in a while, even the devil has to sit down and take notes from these diabolical entities. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

This is a public service announcement. Please, if you know you cannot converse with me in a civil manner - don't quote me. If you want to add to what I have typed, or you want to dispute my assertions - you are free to do so. However, if I detect that you are rude and uncouth, I will put you in the dustbin you deserve to be thrown in. Respect yourself and you will be respected. Thank you. 4 Likes |

Segunhife: You can only fall your hand while asking the question, when you receive the answer and assimilate it you become wiser. There are many people that don't understand stuff, but because they don't want to "fall their hands" or appear stupid - they refuse to ask questions, choosing instead to remain ignorant. 1 Like |

Trex4: The usual gbas, gbos. Just that this time around, there is one troll like that, he made the mod delete the thread after starting several fights. One guy even did some forensic investigations, and proved to all and sundry that the new troll was none other than that miserable lawyer wannabe. Since the return of the thread, his pay masters have given him a mandate to resume here every morning; make outlandish claims, lie through his teeth, and to derail the thread. He, or rather it, has been desperately trying to get our attention, but we have decided to ignore it like the malfunctioning, pathetic thing that it is; because unlike it our lives don't revolve around nairaland. 21 Likes 2 Shares |

ZesusHVWritter: Spreading processing load among more cores would be good, because cores running at lower frequencies will be less likely to overheat. But, as for those two naughty apps you mentioned, they are in serious need of better optimization. 3 Likes |

MATURELION: Nope, I am still referring to ARM CPUs. It is not only smartphones and tablets that use ARM SoCs, SoCs (ARM, x86, x64) are used heavily in embedded systems. |
Phones / Re: Dual Core, Quad Core, Octa Core. What Do They Mean? by naijasensei: 1:06pm On Jun 19, 2020 |
MATURELION: In smartphones, increasing battery capacity is a luxury many manufacturers can't afford, hence the more realistic approach of reducing power consumption. |

Phones / Re: Dual Core, Quad Core, Octa Core. What Do They Mean? by naijasensei: 12:46pm On Jun 19, 2020 |
MATURELION: As you pointed out earlier, desktop and laptop CPUs are a completely different kettle of fish. The core-i U series CPUs are for low power usage scenarios, for example ultrabooks and 2-in-1 convertible laptops (The U stands for Ulira Low Voltage), because they have a TDP of 15W compared to the typical >=45W TDP of other CPUs. The boost mode (burst mode) is not for sustained workloads, just like the highest speed setting on a blender, or the red line a car's speedometer. The U series CPUs are not designed for that type of usage. |

seunfly: What you have typed is the exact reason why people should be literate in these matters. By convention an SD675 should not be as powerful as either the SD821 or even the SD835, but this is not so. I can just imagine someone ignorantly going for the old SD801, SD810, SD821, or the fairly recent SD835 in lieu of the more powerful, deceptively labeled SD675. Information is indeed power. 2 Likes |

ZesusHVWritter: I don't think there are apps that will benefit from deca-core SoCs right now. Apart from the attendant high power draw which has been pointed out, it will just be used for pointless marketing. 1 Like |

atheistandproud: Nice article, the only thing to note is that the cortex A57 CPU is actually a high performance core and not a power efficient core. The cortex A57 is the predecessor of the cortex A72. Popular SoCs that made use of the cortex A57 cores are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, and the Nvidia Tegra X1. Also, another power efficient cortex core still in use today is the cortex A35. 15 Likes |

enjay1: You don't install the games, you just point the emulator to the game's location, then the emulator can run it. What format is the game in? Is it a BIN, CUE, CCD, IMG or ISO file? Supported file formats - Image 1 & Image 2 Make sure there is a bios file (SCPH1001.bin) in the bios folder. You can search for the file on google if you don't have it - Image 3
