drake49:**Updated** There are two ways you can stop it. Method 1 - make your WIFI connection a "metered connection", in your Settings when you click on a wireless connection you can set it to a metered connection. Method 2 - this one is a little more involved, you will have to diasble the Windows Update service from performing updates automatically. Instead it would check for updates and ask if you want to install them. https :// www. windowscentral .com/how-stop-updates-installing-automatically-windows-10?amp Remove the spaces. 1 Like

Phones / Re: Huawei Y9 Prime, Redmi Note 8 Or Redmi 8 by naijasensei: 11:52am On Jun 07, 2020 |
sacredsaint: If money is not an issue, the Huawei Y9 is slightly better than the Redmi note 8, the Redmi 8 is a distant third. The only (potential) downside to the Y9 is the likelihood of having issues in the future while installing Google apps and services. The Redmi note 8 on the other hand has more developer support (Bootloader unlocking, GCam, custom ROMs, and other customizations), and some users prefer MIUI to EMUI. |

Did you share your hotspot with a Windows 10 device? That data usage might have been caused by automatic Windows Updates. Instagram, data consumer, nothing new here. As for Whatsapp, make sure your phone is not automatically downloading people's Status updates and videos people post. 1 Like |

Mustiboy: Jboixxx that you quoted even suffered more from that thread deletion? How, you ask? Jboixxx put together a compilation thread of the very best nuggets that were dropped on the main thread, and most of the nuggets were linked to the main thread. Guess what? All those links disappeared when the main thread was initially deleted. While the main thread was still invisible, Jboixxx created a new compilation thread where he was able to replace the missing links. Guess what? Our powerful mod dragged his net over the new compilation thread and locked it; no explanation, no warning, no reasonable reason. How would you feel if you spent several late nights trying to fix something someone else broke, and then just before you are done that same person destroys what you were working on? I felt slighted when you typed that the mod was right with what he did, and you went ahead to beg him to reopen the old thread. First off, the old thread is gone, most of us here have moved on. Secondly, begging or pleading with those who have an imperial mindset is a wastage of time - it will only harden such a person. We know, most of us know we did no wrong so it would be pointless begging anyone - we have our pride intact, we are not beggars. P.S. Do you want to know something truly funny? That thread had useful information for owners of all phone brands, information about purchasing things on the Google Play store, information about shipping items from abroad, and so many other educational tidbits. Do you know the amount of traffic that thread brought to nairaland? Guess who is losing? 24 Likes |

Meagainstenemy: That quote is laden with meaning, and it is also very apt. It is very annoying when you think you are having an intellectual discourse, only to realise too late that you are conversing with a professional troll. We just have to be more observant. Let me copy you in closing. A famous saying of Nigerian actor, Pete Edochie, goes thus - "Once a handshake extends beyond the elbow, it is no longer a handshake, it has become something else." 4 Likes |

jboixxx: sajmark: While I agree with both of you, unfortunately things will never go back to how they were. Some trolls are beyond redemption, no matter how much you talk to them or reason with them. You are wrongly assuming that such people are responsible, and have a conscience. They have seared their conscience with a hot iron, so that they can sleep well at night. Engaging such people only emboldens them. Imagine a grown man lurking on a thread with the sole intent of misinforming and misdirecting users genuinely searching for information. The unfortunate soul doesn't contribute anything useful to the thread, but chaos and distraction. One thing is sure though, there will always be a time of harvest. You cannot plant bitterleaf and expect to harvest oranges, if you prepare "anyhow" beans you will eat it yourself. 14 Likes 1 Share |

moxsella: It's using either Bluetooth or 2.4Ghz wireless. Confirm before you purchase a replacement. If you can get the model of your gamepad, you can run it through a Google search to know what type of wireless connection it is using. |

audububa: Let me school your ignorant behind a little, just a little. You see, what you typed up there doesn't make any sense. Why? Bring out your notepad to take notes, let me school you a bit. When you talk of something being clocked, then you are referring to frequency - cycles per second - which is measured in Hertz (Hz). Therefore saying an SoC is clocked at 12nm is erroneous everyday of the week and twice on Sundays. So what is that 12nm referring to you ask. For starters 12nm, twelve (12) nano metres, is a measure of length - so nothing can be clocked at a measure of length. The 12nm is referring to the fabrication process for the SoCs. Older SoCs were produced on 28nm processes, but newer SoCs are produced on 16nm, 12nm, 7nm, and very soon 5nm processes. Did you get that, have you written it down? Good, because the lesson is over. Before I leave you I will drop a quote for you. "He who knows not and knows not that he knows not is a fool, abandon him. He that knows not and knows that he knows not is a child, teach him." 2 Likes 1 Share |

Jemerson: atheistandproud: busuyi44: Wow, after seeing dragnet's weak retort on the closed thread - after several days of silence, I can understand why several threads have been opened to drag him. If these are all the reasons dragnet can give for first deleting a 7000+ page thread - which was subsequently restored and closed - he should be ashamed of himself, what a pity. 14 Likes 2 Shares |

Darlinx01: Now this is a post from a sensible user who knows his onions, free of sentiments and packing a punch. Even before the arrival of Mediatek's Helio G series, Mediatek fixed some of their past issues with the Helio P series (P23, P35, P60, P70, etc). So it is rather puzzling that an educated illiterate will label all Mediatek SoCs as trash. The Helio G70 that those marketers are shouting up and down about has been used by Realme in their brilliant Realme C3 budget phone, a phone that is way cheaper and has a better build than the often hyped "flagship" Infinix Note 7. As the popular saying goes, "empty barrels make the loudest noise", also there is nothing worse than an educated illiterate. 10 Likes |

RGBshield: Do you think I care? Unlike you I am not a marketer, I love Realme, I love Oppo, I love Oneplus, I love Huawei, I love Samsung, I also love Nokia. In short I love quality products produced by quality brands. If Realme comes to Nigeria guess who wins? The value oriented customer - a group I proudly belong to, Realme will push Redmi and Xiaomi to be better, thereby offering sensible customers more value for money. Now run along. 8 Likes |

ernxto: Just look at how the marketer you quoted is embarrassing himself/herself, how can a phone get injured for crying out loud? You can spot a half-baked marketer from his/her incoherent post. I am sure he is regretting his response now, after all it is not what they were taught in their marketing crash course. If I were a senior transsion executive reading this thread - I would be terribly ashamed. Is this what we pay our marketers for - incoherence, lack of proper research, no facts, hanging on unverified information, cluelessness, lack of tact, and a host of other disgusting traits. How dare you compare a flagship product (Infinix note 7) with a budget offering from another competitor, what insolence, what an utter lack of class. Are these the people transsion are spending a humongous marketing budget on, really? Even a bunch of trained illiterates can surely do way better than this, geez. I would have had the whole lot of them demoted to probationary status, they would have to justify their wages for this level of incompetence. 20 Likes |
