kellykume: it has uhd 630 That isn't the CPU, that's the integrated GPU used for non-demanding graphics tasks. Anyways, the Uhd 630 can be found on either 8th gen or 9th gen core-i series CPUs, so you are good to go. I am guessing your laptop is packing a core i5 8300H, a core i7 8750H, or probably a core i5 8250U. |

kellykume: good day guys. please i dont really know much about game specifications and i'm not a heavy gamer at all but i sha know that i'm getting a laptop with gtx1050, 4gb vram and 8gb ram but i'll like to know if its enough to run fifa 20 (even if its at medium or low settings )and other very light games..The guy i'm getting the laptop from said that i need a gtx1650 to run the game. It should run it easily, even on high settings. Even a 2GB GTX1050, and a GT 1030 can play FIFA20 easily. By the way, what CPU does the laptop have? |

thanks for your reply. I have not put in the phone since then. yes, there was a memory card on it but I removed it before I started exploring the factory mode side. Some of my stuffs are on it. It is highly likely, there is a 99% chance your files are gone. From my research, it seems you performed a factory reset which in all likelihood has wiped your phone's storage. I suspect your phone might not be able to even start up normally. There is very little that can be done. |

Incredible128: I've always had this question in mind, why was d x series discontinued ? I personally think it would have been one of many powerful chips we have today considering the fact that it was a DECA core and hence would be able to perform many heavy tasks without breaking a sweat ; or was there a hidden flaw in d chip? I've searched the internet for an answer but unfortunately, I've not seen one. The Helio X series had serious overheating issues, also despite having decacore CPUs and performing well in synthetic benchmarks - real world performance wasn't that exciting. More cores doesn't always equate to better performance. |

Ausrichie: Why is it that NAND Gates are used extensively (I am not sure if they are the only Gates used) in circuit boards. Why go through the stress of building other Gates with NAND gate, I know it has to do with NAND's gate universality but what's so bad in using the others straight up. Your guess is right, there are only two logic gates that can be used to implement the functions of all the other gates, namely - NOR and NAND logic gates. However, NAND gates are still preferred over NOR gates, check the following links below: https: // www. researchgate. net/post/How_the_NAND_occupy_less_area_than_the_NOR https: // electronics. stackexchange. com/questions/110649/why-is-nand-gate-preferred-over-nor-gate-in-industry Just remove the spaces in the links. |

Atlanticfire: I was thinking along the line of the Raspberry Pi actually,
Can you build something on the Raspberry Pi that can perform such functions? Yes, many have built such projects. If you search on YouTube you will find countless examples. The Raspberry Pi uses a Broadcom SoC (Broadcom BCM2711 for the Pi 4) on a Single Board Computer, note though that there are more powerful (and hence more expensive) Single Board Computers available. |
Phones › Re: Let's Peek Into A Smartphone's Brain by naijasensei: 7:24pm On Jun 12, 2020 |
Atlanticfire: Nice. I have been wondering how easy it will be to make microcontrollers to do some of the functions that are being done by todays smartphones. Things like facial recognition, fingerprint recognition, 3 dimensional speed.
OP do you know about microcontrollers? Microcontrollers aren't as powerful as Microprocessors and CPUs, but I believe they "might be able to perform those functions" you listed. However, it might make more sense to use an SoC or a Single Board Computer (like the Raspberry Pi) for such purposes. |

reigncalif1: IF THERE is need for such because they were true octacore right ,,, can a dual quad core surport multi threading Technically, they are not referred to as dual quad core - they are called heterogeneous octacore SoCs. Any CPU that has more than one core supports multi-threading, since multi-threading allows a CPU to share its workload among several cores and threads. Note that on desktop and laptop CPUs, a core can have more than one thread. For example, you can have a dual-core four-threads CPU. |

reigncalif1: The power efficient cores will be use for task with heavy power consumption and performance mean the sets of cores don't work core are for heavy duties right ,,, but still they can work simultaneously rather they can only transfer task that each requires.... Performance cores - heavy lifting (for example intensive gaming, heavy video processing), more power consumption. Efficient cores - lower intensity tasks (web browsing, 2D gaming, Whatsapp), lower power draw. And yes, they can work simultaneously if there is the need for such. |

2nd question: What does it take to be a web developer??
Front end, if yes... Pls name what is required to be learnt
Back end, what is required to be learnt
Full stack, what is required to. Be learnt
Pls web expert shud help me out...... Thanks You can start now, but remember that some knowledge of HTML and CSS is required to master JavaScript. For frontend - JavaScript, Vue, React, HTML, CSS For backend - Node.js, Python, PHP, C#, etc For full stack - combination of frontend and backend skills. |

reigncalif1: ... so after some research i saw that MT6592 and MT6752 are true octacore but am still don't understand everything cause they were talking about something like an app that don't support multi threading is needed to implement all those eight core to work simultaneously Then true octacores were important, today - not so much. Then Qualcomm didn't have chips with all the cores working simultaneously; when the heavier cores were working, the lighter ones were switched off and vice-versa. But nowadays, every SoC has the ability to make all its cores work simultaneously - whether they are heterogeneous cores or homogeneous cores. If an app doesn't support multi threading with all the available cores on an SoC's CPU, it will make use of the number of cores it supports thereby making the other cores redundant. So in theory, if an app supports only quad core multi threading, an SoC with 4 cores will perform similarly to an SoC with 8 cores - provided the cores are of the same type and they are operating at the same clock speeds. |

reigncalif1: thanks for the elaboration,,, I now understood that more cores are better to clock speed . but I will be forced to disagree with u on all soc implementing the big little tech cause I have come across some mtk chips even snapdragon saying there chips can run simultaneously ,,,,, I might try checking up online to bring u the chip You are right, but it is usually for burst (short duration) performance and not sustained performance. Today, big-Little doesn't necessarily mean the sets of cores don't work simultaneously - just that they are of different types (power efficient cores mixed with performance cores). |

MrWraith: Op I wanted to ask about CPU architecture especially RISC Based. Why is ARM the only prominent RISC SOC designer.? Given that they don't produce their designs, what's stopping Qualcomm, TSMC, Mediatek, Hisilicon etc from designing and manufacturing their own SOC. Every phone CPU is based on Cores designed ARM, is RISC intrinsically complex for new architecture ground up or has ARM patented the entire field stopping others from making head way? Cc atheistandproud There is a popular saying about standing on the shoulders of giants, I believe most companies prefer to leverage on the patents and work done by ARM rather than spending huge amounts of money trying to reinvent the wheel. Also no company will want to spend so much money on Research & Development only to discover their idea has already been patented. As an aside, some years ago Intel tried to stampede their way into the smartphone SoC market with their x86 architecture; but they had to withdraw when they couldn't compete. |

This is a public service announcement. If you are coming to this thread to seek solutions to your issues, please drop your pride and ego. If you humble yourself, and patiently read what people suggest you should you; it is almost certain you will resolve your issues - people will even fall over themselves to assist you. However, if you come here with an attitude, speak rudely to those trying to assist you, and feel too big to provide information your would be helpers request for - blame no one if you get no help, or you cannot resolve your issues. Nobody here is paid to attend to you, nobody is obliged to help you. Almost everyone here (apart from those worthless trolls and thread retailers) is a volunteer who is passionate about helping others - so put some respect on it. Save your aggression, attitude, and insults for those you pay money to help you. I will leave you with this saying "When you ask a question, you become a fool for the moment you are seeking enlightenment". |

ZesusHVWritter: I am here..... But I lost the ability to argue or make you see any different. like I earlier said, you are too caught up in your whose right bubble you have failed to acknowledge the little details like.
Where was tecno 4 months ago? Why did Tecno withhold the lens maker's name? The binning technology used for smartphone photography is a complex process that requires a lot of technical and cpu workforce. So how did Tecno jump these huddles to implement a 64mp Sony imx686 lens into the Mtk p35 fold? Tecno claiming Sony made the lens on the camon 15 premier isn't the only error here. Why are you in haste to discredit me?
Calm down. Take a death breath... Binning was dealth with on the twitter thread you commented binning as an excuse for Tecno's claim... binning was dealth with Two months before you came to comment on that thread.
You sighted @techcabal's post as the source of your claims that Sony lens was used in the Tecno camon 15 premier. I have since contacted techcabal to confirm their post. Which they are yet to. You came to nairaland and this time sited Tecno's official site. Seeing Tecno are not bold enough to speak for themselves in this matter, I contacted Sony for confirmation. Barely 15hours, you have opened a thread here on nairaland making all sorts of outrageous claims.
The Screenshots below shows your post and the first time binning was mentioned on the same twitter thread you claim to be the first person to bring binning into the discussion.
Whatever is eating you or causing your to be erratic in your behavior. Cool it down, calm your nerves. Tecno will answer to Nigerians, or to Sony as it seems. Pull yourself together, you will have your time to gloat or morn. You are preaching to the choir, don't bother. All the hullabaloo he raised about the Snapdragon 660 and the Redmi note 7 not supporting a 48MP camera sensor has been disproved with clear pictures which can easily be researched and confirmed by anyone. Please keep up the good work and "do not retire, but refire, until you acquire what you desire (the truth)". |

Edopesin: I'm Glad we now agree on the same thing that the 48mp is binned
But did Xiaomi tell you this during their advertising? No So why are you expecting Tecno to tell you the same thing
48mp is possible by binning and that is why the redmi Note 7 uses it Don't twist facts, study those images, and if possible visit those sites yourself, then make your own conclusions. |
