A Toyota Highlander belonging to a Priest of the Catholic diocese of Nnewi and Chaplain of St. Camilus de Lellis Chaplaincy, College of Health Sciences, Okofia-Nnewi, Fr. Chetanna Chukwuneke was snatched from his mechanic at Ndimgbu-Otolo Nnewi by gun men. The Priest's mechanic driving the vehicle to his mechanic shop for repairs when the gunmen attacked. It is a Silver coloured SUV with plate number KJA 955 HB.

The cleric made the unfortunate incident which came as a shock many known to his parishioners through a WhatsApp status posted on the 11th of February, 2022.

The parishioners are calling on the public to report to the nearest police station if the said vehicle is seen.
They are also calling on security agents across the country to intensify the search for the vehicle and ensure that the perpetrators of the dastardly act are brought to book.

*INAUGURATION OF PAPHNON ANAMBRA STATE TO HOLD ON 12TH FEBRUARY, 2020*

All is now set for the official inauguration ceremony of the Anambra State Chapter of the Professional Association of Public Health Nurses(PAPHNON) scheduled to hold on the 12th of February, 2020 at the Theatre Complex, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi. Time for the event is 11am.

The Local Organising Committee led by Dr. Justina Okoli and Executives of the Association led by the Chairperson, Associate Professor C.I. Ilo have put all the necessary logistics in place to ensure the success of the event which will bring together Public Health Nurses from all levels of Health care in Anambra state and beyond.

The topic of the day will be "The role of Public Health Nurses in improving the health indices in Nigeria", to be delivered by the renowned Lady Dr. Jane Anene.

Dignitaries expected to grace the occasion include the CMD NAUTH, CMAC, DNS Anambra State, WHO rep. Anambra State, Anambra state Commissioner for Health, Representative of Public health/PHC dept Anambra State, State NANNM chairman, PAPHNON National chairman e. t. c.

Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS)

Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is a rare syndrome in which the body’s immune system attacks part of the peripheral nervous system. The peripheral nervous system carries signals from the brain to the muscles. Symptoms of GBS include muscle weakness, numbness, and tingling sensations, which can increase in intensity until the muscles cannot be used at all (paralysis).

The exact cause of Guillain-Barré syndrome is unknown. In most cases, GBS occurs a few days or weeks after symptoms of a viral infection. In rare cases, GBS may run in families. A diagnosis of GBS is suspected when a person has symptoms suggestive of the syndrome. A variety of tests, including a spinal tap, may be completed to confirm the diagnosis. Treatment options may include plasma exchange (plasmapheresis) and immunoglobulin therapy.
