Webmasters / Re: Php/mysql Pin And Serial Number Generation Script by nairawall: 9:27am On Dec 01, 2012
To get you quickly started. Here is the idea of generating the PINs and serial numbers. Some of the questions to answer are:

1.) Are the serial number all numeric or alpha numeric?
2.) Are the PINs numeric or alpha numberic?

The first step is to build a function that gives you the ability of generating all types of random strings or number with the ability of setting exactly what type of random number or string you want.see the function below:

//Create random numbers
function generateRandomString($type = 'alnum', $len = cool
{
switch($type)
{
case 'alnum' :
case 'numeric' :
case 'nozero' :
switch ($type)
{
case 'alnum' : $pool = '0123456789abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ';
break;
case 'numeric' : $pool = '0123456789';
break;
case 'nozero' : $pool = '123456789';
break;
}

$str = '';
for ($i=0; $i < $len; $i++)
{
$str .= substr($pool, mt_rand(0, strlen($pool) -1), 1);
}

return $str;
break;
case 'unique' : return md5(uniqid(mt_rand()));
break;
}
}

Step 2:

You can then proceed to generate your random 14 digit PIN and serial number. Assuming you intend creating 100 PINs at a time, then you simply write a loop that runs 100 times. Here is the logic

//Create loop
$success_pins = 0;
for($i=1; $i<=100; $i++)
{
//create your PINs and serial number
$pin = generateRandomString('numeric', 14);
$serial_no = generateRandomString('numeric', 6); //Note you didn't specify the number of digit on your post

//Check if pin already exist on the database, if not insert PIN and serial number into PIN database table
//Note that the isPIN() and insertPIN() were not written here but can help you write then if you don't get the clue.

if(isPIN($pin)){ //PIN exist and ignore }
else{
insertPin($pin, $serial_no);
$success_pins = $success_pins + 1; //Keep count of successfully loaded or inserted pins.
}

//Print report.
$report = "$success_pins pin(s) successfully inserted into the PIN database table";
}

Let's see how this goes!

Our problem in Nigeria is not about coming up with good policies or laws but implementation of these said policies or law.

Do we have the capacity to bring defaulters to book?

Webmasters / Re: Finding It Hard To Think Of A Great Web Idea by nairawall: 11:59am On Nov 17, 2012
After several thoughts, I finally think I will want to try out an application that can support all or some of these features (Microblogging, Forums, news, classifieds, business directory, polls etc) in a more dynamic and sociable way. Also I will like to focus on Africa not just Nigeria.

From google search I just ran for some leading ideas, I discovered that almost all the big portals (facebook, linkedin, myspace) supports these basic web apps but they tend to tweak it in a way that makes theirs unique.
Webmasters / Finding It Hard To Think Of A Great Web Idea by nairawall: 9:55am On Nov 17, 2012
Outside Forum, blog, webhosting, webdesign and social network web application concepts, which I think is a bit saturated right now in Nigeria, is there any other web application or web business idea or model the Nigeria web application developer can focus on?

Those with new emerging ideas can share!

Music/Radio / Alec’s Entertainment Is Back, Rebranded! by nairawall: 6:46pm On Nov 04, 2012
ALEC’S ENTERTAINMENT IS BACK, REBRANDED!

In 2008, all artistes’ contract with the record label, Alec’s Music
expired and Mr. Alec Godwin, MD/CEO of Alec’s Entertainment saw it as
an opportunity to take a break. He took some time out to the United
Kingdom to study Cinematography and since his return has been
shooting, directing and editing music videos and movies.

On 14 September, during his birthday bash with few friends, he
declared Alec’s Entertainment was back, rebranded “All Round
Entertainment”. He also hinted about the creation of the official
website, www.alecsentertainment.com which would now be majorly for the
promotion of Nigerian artistes’ works, audio and video as well as
showcasing young/fresh talents in the movie industry via the Alec’s
short movie series which he started earlier this year. He also
promised to carry models and comedians along to perfect the Vision.

Barely a week ago the site was formally launched; today it is already
moving massive traffic as artistes and record label owners are
beginning to plug in their works.

Music/Radio / JWC Signs N5million Deal With Alec Entertainment by nairawall: 12:53pm On Oct 22, 2012
Alecs Entertainment has been doing lot of rebranding to catch up with the fast pace Nigeria entertainment industry. After the break up with Kefee of the branama fame, Alec is yet to sign into his record label forceful and best selling artiste.

Last few months Alec signed Mr. Bomb for an undisclosed sum and few days ago, he signed JWC for an unconfirmed N5million deal. Could big spending really bring him back to the music industry again?

Politics / Lawyer Falls For Nigerian E-mail Scam, Sues Wells Fargo by nairawall: 11:35am On Oct 03, 2012
An Edina law firm that lost nearly $400,000 in a Nigerian wire-fraud scam is claiming that Wells Fargo, which handled the fund transfers, should cover its losses.

The Star Tribune reports on the lawsuit by Milavetz, Gallop & Milavetz, which three years ago received an e-mail from someone purporting to be a Korean woman who needed the firm's help to collect a settlement. You can probably see where this is going: When the dust settled, Milavetz, Gallop & Milavetz was a lot poorer. It has parallels — down to the account numbers involved — to a investigation into a Nigerian fraud ring that targeted law firms; two people have been indicted in that investigation.

In his suit, Robert Milavetz argues that Wells Fargo & Co. should have recognized the red flags involved — a counterfeit check used in the scam had the bank's address spelled wrong, he claims. The suit also says the bank told the firm the check had cleared, only to later say it hadn't, really — but the firm had already wired the money away by that point. Wells Fargo said it will defend itself in the case.

Politics / Obama Losing More American Votes From Romney Video Leak by nairawall: 5:22pm On Sep 18, 2012
COSTA MESA, Calif.—Mitt Romney stood by his comments captured on a hidden camera at a closed-door fundraiser earlier this year in which he called supporters of President Barack Obama "victims" and said they are reliant on government handouts.

In a hastily arranged news conference Monday night, he called his words "off the cuff" and "not elegantly stated," but given several opportunities to back off the comments, he did not.

Romney said he was merely talking about the "political process of drawing people into my own campaign." He described the incident as a "snippet of a question and answer session" and called on the full video to be released to show the question and his response in its full context.

Asked if he was worried that he had offended the 47 percent of people he mentioned in the statement, Romney did not back off his remarks.

"It's not elegantly stated, let me put it that way," Romney said. "I'm speaking off the cuff in response to a question, and I'm sure I can state it more clearly in a more effective way than I did in a setting like that and so I'm sure I'll point that out as time goes on."

This rating is a monthly rating thing not the 3 monthly rating. Facebook currently have more than a billion user and a large proportion of these users are actively using the social media, this is the reason they are beating google.

Sports / Seven Cameroon Athletes Disappeared From Olympic Village by nairawall: 3:12pm On Aug 10, 2012
Boys don move... Na real ilegal immigrant status dem don embrace. It seems that it is more profitable pursuing greener pastures in the western world then serving as a patriot in any of these African countries. Something has got to break!!!!

Seven Cameroon athletes who have disappeared whilst in Britain may be intending to claim asylum, according to an official from the country.

Mission head, David Ojong, said that the seven sportsmen, including five boxers, are suspected of having left to stay in Europe for economic reasons.

'What began as rumour has finally turned out to be true. Seven Cameroonian athletes who participated at the 2012 London Olympic Games have disappeared from the Olympic Village,' Mr Ojong, said in a message sent to Cameroon's Ministry of Sports and Physical Education.

Business / Re: How Do I Start Recharge Card Printing by nairawall: 8:20pm On Aug 05, 2012
In my bid to know more about how the recharge card business works and how to profit from it, I also paid this Taiwo guy for this his poorly researched and packaged ebook.

Most if not all the information on his ebook are obsolete. I still have a copy and I can send it to anyone who cares.

All these Nigeria information marketers are not really doing a good job with their ebooks.

During my research I also discover you can also get a FREE recharge card printing software that can print most of the networks.

I will try to post a list of some distributors you can buy pins from nationwide maybe 2moro.
Business / Re: How Do I Start Recharge Card Printing by nairawall: 1:47pm On Aug 02, 2012
Ringo Telecom is one big trashy outfit.

If you are serious about printing recharge cards, stay of Ringo.
They tend to pose as a very serious outfit but their customer support and delays can really get into ones nerve.

They don't pick calls and even when they pick they will tell you they are busy, they are simply not organised and unprofessional. I will advice any serious business person to stay clear of Ringo Telecom.
Politics / Lucky Igbenedion Has Stroke? by nairawall: 9:51pm On Jul 31, 2012
A friend today informed me that former governor of Edo State Lucky Igbenedion has stroke and has been flown overseas for treatment.

How true is this?
Business / Re: How Do I Start Recharge Card Printing by nairawall: 2:59pm On Jul 30, 2012
I have discovered through several months of research that you can get started with the recharge card printing business without all of these bottle necks most people list on this forum.

In summary, this is all you need:

1. A Computer System
2. A Printer
3. A4 Sheets of Paper.

You don't need a software and also you don't need to register with any company before you can start buying your PINs.

Also note, the rates of these PINs are not as attractive as most scammers post on this forum. I was even scammed by one Okorie Vincent who posed as being a staff of Prepaid Nigeria. They tend to make the whole recharge card printing business look too good to be true. This is the average prices of PINs you can buy from any distributors around you:

MTN 100 = N94/N94.50
MTN 200 = N188/N190

GLO 100 = N92

AIRTEL = N93.50

ETISALAT 100 = N92
ETISALAT 200 = N184

VISA 100 = N92

Starcomm 100 = N91.50

Note:
All prices are per PIN and you buy these PINs in multiple of 100s.

How to get your PINs
Just visit any of the MTN, GLO or the other Network Offices near you and ask that you want to locate any of their dealers, they will give you a list of their dealers and addresses close to you.

You can contact any of these dealers and tell them you want to print and sell recharge cards and they will get you started though their own rates might also varies.

You can contact me for further information through this line:

Politics / Can GEJ Really Fight Corruption? by nairawall: 6:00pm On Jul 22, 2012
98% if not 100% of those involved in the Fuel Subsidy Fraud, Pension Fraud and contract fraud in Nigeria are PDP stalwarts. When one observe the strong bonding the PDP members possess one is forced to wonder if PDP as a party truly can fight corruption under the GEJ administration.

This can even be proven from their last national party convention. PDP hardly caution their leaders about the issues of looting and fraud, maybe because that has been the only reason how the party became the largest in Africa.

Not a single person has been convicted or prosecuted. It has been attention diversion techniques all this while. Majority of the committees and sub-committees setup are mostly centered on monetary fraud but none has yielded tangible results till date.

It will be painful that we keep hoping for a change from this administration when really we may not see any.
