My friend, America is world power today mostly because of GDP(wealth, technology, infrastructures all show in their GDP despite the inequality and lower HDI by their standard). The world considers Nigeria, southafrica and Egypt as African powerhouses by African standard basically because of GDP. One of my parkistani friend some time ago was about searching on Nigeria via Google after meeting me, the first thing he searched for on google was GDP. Your wealth should reflect on your GDP and GDP per capita. Rivers state (where PH city is found) is 2 times richer than the Nigerian national average. This means PH city should be 4 times richer than the national average (in per capital come).

What is the total GDP of Nairobi? Then we divide it by the 6 million people of Nairobi. If the GDP per capital is below or equal the national average, then it's obvious that half of Nairobi's population live in slums and poverty, but if it is far above the national average, (just like Lagos is far above Nigeria's average), then we know that the poor slum dwellers are not so numerous.
