Slums so bad you want to convince people they're dumpsite. Poor Nigerians
|
iblawi:It's not Photoshop, that's an article like you can see with two photos, one of prostitutes and the other in the background is the slums. Funny you can't understand simple things like how articles are written. Speaking of old photos - aren't you the same guys recycling old photos of Kibera here? ......and considering Abuja is a new city, how old can those photos be? Stop putting your head in the sand. I have posted several photos, nor just the one you quoted and these are fresh new articles from the internet. More Abuja slums for you.
|
Abuja that they claim to be the perfect African city with no slums
|
"Normal" housing in Nigeria
|
The Abuja that they claim has no slums and the magnificent Naija Railways
|
More Lagos
|
.........and somebody still says Lagos has no slums. I don't blame her though, she's never been to Lagos anyway.
|
See how you embarrass the black race
|
obaaderemi:At least I only quote you when you quote or mention me. You're all over quoting everything I post and when I don't post you're all over talking about me. You behave like a lazy jobless woman - always talking about people who are better than her. |
solbil:You mean those copy paste blogs from lazy Nigerian bloggers? Nuh buddy, I'm sorry to say you're the most boring person on this thread. Your posts don't interest me at all. |
solbil:Let me for a minute pretend Nigerians actually go to space. If Kenya had misplaced priorities like you guys we would have entered space a long time ago but we were busy ensuring everyone has good access to electricity, water, education and improving our HDI. |
ianSweet:You're simply saying only Nigerians are allowed to change with time and adopt new ways of building, when Kenyans do the same it's because they're being dominated by foreigners. |
ianSweet:Arabs didn't build Mombasa and Lamu either. See, the photos you people have been posting here of "Amazing Architecture" in Abuja are all of American architecture. Non is Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba or any native Nigerian. In Nairobi most architecture is a modified version of British architecture. Can we thus say Americans built Abuja? Kano was a city state before the Arabs came and so was Mombasa and Lamu yet you claim Mombasa and Lamu are Arab cities and Kano is not. That's why everyone thinks you're stupid. |
PissedYagami:Very low intelligence indeed, I noticed that a long time ago. She doesn't even realize all ancient cities grew due to trade. Mombasa was started by a very strong coastal woman known as Mwana Mkisi - a Bantu. It grew mainly due to trade with mostly the Arabs. That's how cities grow. Kano grew due to trade with Arabs who brought Islam to West Africa too but she doesn't realize that. Very low intelligence. |
obaaderemi:I'm really giving this dude sleepless nights he can't stop thinking of me. Why would I be mad that someone joined Nairaland yet I'm on Nairaland? The earlier he joins the better - there's always a lot to learn from online forums and it's good when senior government officials understand their countries and people better. |
obaaderemi:.....it is his own opinion. It wasn't official and neither was it an article like you claim. See Kibera has a smaller official connection (though nowhere as small as 20℅ as Yagami claims - I drive through the southern bypass overlooking Kibera daily and one of the most visible thing in that slum are the electric posts and TV serials) but slum people make their own illegal connections (which are normally responsible for the occasional fires that happen in those slums). If you factor these illegal connections then 100℅ of people in Kibera are connected to electricity. |
obaaderemi:You keep saying Kenya is no match for Nigeria because Kenya is full of slums. I simply showcase areas where Kenya beats Nigeria by far but you always come with excuses such as "oyinbo did it for you, HDI is not important, we have a larger production capacity etc". Sometimes it's wise to accept your shortcomings. Show me where I said Kenya has no problems at all. |
solbil:Even the poshest places in Lagos have no constant electricity. Stop deceiving people. |
solbil:The whole of Kibera has 24/7 supply of electricity. Ask Naijalander |
ianSweet:Like I said, you're very ignorant and poor in history. See your argument is all based on statements. I'll help you this time round. Google Mwana Mkisi and start from there. I hope you have enough gas for your generator. |
68816419:Below is the photo of the Lamu Governor Issa Timamy. His people resemble the Fulani of Nigeria in appearance. Is he Arab to you? ....and if he is, can we then agree President Buhari is also Arab? If Buhari is Arab, can we agree Nigeria is ruled by Arabs?
|
obaaderemi:Says someone who claims there are no slums in Lagos. Why don't you condemn your government for not providing you with a good supply of electricity first? |
ianSweet:Here goes the ignorant girl again. Please read a book. |
iblawi:You're obsessed with hurting my feelings while I tell you the truth. lol .....you're hurting your own feelings. |
68816419:Do you even know where Kikuyu is? There are no arabs in Lamu. Those people you call Arabs are actually the famous Swahili people of the the Swahili language your sister claims we stole from Tanzania. Stop spreading lies. |
edit |
68816419:You're already ignorant of Kenya, you can't be ignorant of your own country. You've been posting the independence avenue and the road near Abuja National Stadium over and over since this thread started. |
68816419:You posted fake photos of places that don't exist and claimed they're are Kenya's North Coast. I posted you real photos of Kenya's North Coast (Malindi and Lamu) and you pretend to have not seen them. Wait, I am on my phone now, I'll post you google images of Ibadan, Kano, Maiduguri, Katsina, Abeokuta, Lagos Mainland etc and you'll see the hell holes they are. Meanwhile post me Google images of Nakuru and show me the slum you speak of - stop posting photos of Maiduguri claiming they're of Nakuru. |
iblawi:You're the one who's confused. Who has been claiming Nairobi is full of slums? Who has been posting fake slum photos of Nairobi? I'm not claiming Nigeria is poo, I'm debunking your useless boasting. Meanwhile you've been talking down on Kenya all through yet you get butthurt when anyone speaks negatively of Nigeria even when it's true. Who claimed Nairobi is heaven? Nobody - all we did is showcase photos of what Nairobi really looks like to debunk your useless rants that it's all a slum. Interestingly, you rubbish our photos as a tiny part of Nairobi inhabited by whites and Indians even though Google maps show less than 5℅ of Nairobi is a slum. Their are certain things you still don't get When it comes to Nigeria and South Africa. South Africa currently have the best of infrastructure with a very normal population. But that doesn't mean Nigeria doesn't have pros too. In fact Nigeria and Egypt still have more prospects in Africa than South Africa. Yes, South Africa currently have the best Education, infrastructure and technology but that is not the end. What of the influence, economy, prospect, resources, etc. Like I said early, the most beautiful cities don't make you a super power but your influence, economy and power. When I say power am talking of military might, technology, innovation etc. There are somethings you don't get do you? A super power is not made of prospects. It is made of real economy and power. Does Nigeria have those? The answer is No. You don't even have the biggest economy in Africa. You can't pay salaries regularly to your civil servants, you can't provide electricity to your people yet you claim to be a super power. What military might do you have? Nigeria's military is just as good (or as bad) as any other African country. No country in the world fears your military. What technology do you have? Kenya is ranked as the most innovative country on the continent alongside SA all the time yet we don't even consider ourselves a high tech country. The problem with you guys is you've been blinded by ignorance. Nigeria is doing fine and it's future is probably bright but this notion of feeling you're way ahead of everyone else when you're not even on their level in many things is absurd No country dominate these 3 thing in Africa for now. Take a good look at Russia, China and the US for example and you will understand what am talking about.Russia, China and USA are not Nigeria. These countries have real technology. My computer, phone, TV, Home theatre, air conditioner, and most electronics I own were manufactured in china and some are American brands. Those three countries provide stable electricity to their people. Look at their HDI, look at their military, look at their technology. Nigeria is nowhere close. Comparing yourselves to them is just absurd. Nigeria should compare themselves to Pakistan and Bangladesh - those are the countries that match Nigeria well in economy and Human development. Comparing yourselves to the US, China and Russia is just absurd. Don't feel bad bro, Kenya is not in the league of Nigeria in many aspect not to talk of comparing influence, economy, military might, technology, etc. We didn't impose this on our self.Kenya is not in the league of Nigeria in most of those aspects, we are ahead. I know it makes you mad but the truth shall set you free. Truce |
iblawi:http://worldpopulationreview.com/world-cities/lagos-population/ |
iblawi:Stop lying. The posts you've been making here speak otherwise. If you didn't hate other Africans:- - you wouldn't be claiming only 696 km2 of Kenya is developed. - you wouldn't be claiming Kenya is owned and controlled by whites and Indians out of ignorance. - you wouldn't be claiming Nairobi is all slums when everyone knows Nairobi is one of the wealthiest, most beautiful and most influential cities on the continent. - you wouldn't be downplaying Kenya's success in ICT and claiming it's backward - you wouldn't be cheering your sister as she disparages Kenya's culture etc. Speaking of misunderstanding each other then you played your part too. Like one S African said before, you guys are more interested in STATUS than SUBSTANCE. Furthermore you overrate your status and use it to disparage other countries as backwards. Trust me any sane person who's visited Nigeria and Kenya would laugh at the notion of a Nigerian finding Kenya backward. Kenyan socuety is more democratic, open minded, liberal and free and our cities and towns tend to be better planned and maintained. You can't just compare America to Nigeria, America doesn't have the best HDI or living standards but they have one of the best. They have one of the best average salaries in the world too. What I'm trying to tell my Nigerian brothers is you can't claim that Giant of Africa status if you can't even make it to top 20 or top 10 in Africa on living standards measures. The real equivalent of the USA in Africa is SA - - SA doesn't have the best HDI on the continent but it has one of the best - SA doesn't have the best living standards in Africa but it has one of the best. - SA doesn't have social amenity availability on the continent but it has one of the best. This coupled with - - having the biggest economy at the moment - dominating in the best academic institutions - dominating in business and Multinationals - dominating size and quality of infrastructure - having a stable economy - being the referral country for health and education matters etc All that makes it the USA of Africa. You guys are still not there yet, yet you want to force it in our throats and insult anyone who doesn't agree and accuse then of jealousy. |
iblawi:.......yet I also posted a credible link that puts Lagos slum population at 66℅ which you pretend to ignore. The actual slum population of Lagos is 66℅ but some uninformed journalist will quote 90℅ just to increase viewership.(just like the journalist in the video your friend posted is not speaking from an informed point of view) Why are you so thick? Understanding simple things is an uphill task for you. |
