thanks, I've looked closely....now, if u look closely once again u'll see that only the top 10 cities are counted,if Nigeria has 4 cities out of 10, what will u say is wrong with Africa?
Nothing would be wrong with Africa but that would give you the bragging rights you so badly yearn for. See - The US for instance has 46 out of the world's top 100 universities. 540 out of the world's 2000 billionaires, over 200 of the top 500 companies in the world etc and that's why the US is the world's superpower.

if u look closely once again, Nigeria has 3 cities there which means wealth is spread across the nation.
do u understand?
If you look closely again, Kenya's population is a quarter of Nigeria's. Having 3 cities against Kenya's one is not enough for Nigeria. You should have 4 for 1 to be on the same level with Kenya is

Kenya the sixth poorest country in Africa according to a South Africans based institute

http://allafrica.com/stories/201502190545.html

KENYA is the sixth poorest country in Africa, according to a report compiled by a security think tank. The report, prepared by South Africa-based Institute for Security Studies, says 18.4 million Kenyans (40 per cent) out of 46.3 million live in extreme poverty
I could easily come up with a similar article if I googled "Nigeria is the poorest country in Africa". See? This one here claims Nigeria is the 3rd poorest country in the world.

nah..........Lagos is also a state,a similitude of Kenya with different local government just as u have ur counties.

u can actually classify those local governments as towns....u gerrit?
So what does your brother want? He asked me to list him where Kenya's rich, middle class and poor live so that he can compare with Lagos. I listed him 5 for each category and he says he can't do the comparison because those are not towns but neighborhoods. How can you help a stupid brother like that?

That's the magic of slum tourism, they tend to condense a large population into a small area. You know you are dealing with extreme inequality when the top 40% owns 94% of Nairobi. The estates we keep seeing is not reflective of what is on the ground, when the average citizen lives in slums. In Kibera, water pipes run through raw sewage. Many tourists that come to Kenya actually come as slum tourist especially with the title of the World's largest Slum. Solution start with admitting there is a problem.
At least for Nairobi it's Kibera alone. In Nigeria, whole cities such as Ibadan and Lagos have water pipes running through sewages.

I keep on saying it here that Nairobi is a scam. This is why your slums will keep on haunting you.

What is the essence of boasting of a very beautiful and green city with parks when just behind it you have some of the worlds largest and most numerous slums filled with unproductive citizens?

This is the reason why Nairobi will never be able to boast of a large GDP per capital. Too much unproductive and poor citizens in the city secluded in slums.
.....what is the essence of boasting of a large economy when within it there's no single beautiful well maintained city and has numerous slum cities like Ibadan and Abeokuta?

I do not reason as ignorantly as you do. Good for yourself and your calmer tone after your embarrasment!

I saw your comments since yesterday morning and i started checking out the places in pictures and online links since yesterday. I was just too busy to start replying till this morning.

Yes of course, i wanted us to compare! Just that i realized that one cannot compare a town to a single estate. Most of the places you mentioned are ordinary estates, while i am listing towns and local govt areas.

I learnt about the districts of Nairobi, so, it would be better if you use the various districts of Nairobi to compare instead of using estates.
So you can start by classifying the districts of Nairobi according to their income statuses, then we can proceed!
Again, you expose your illiteracy.

1. Is it suburbs and neighborhoods you wanted us to compare or towns? Nairobi is a city and its divided into neighborhoods. You wanted us to compare where people live, I gave you those places now you've changed goals - you want towns. Is Lagos divided into towns? Sometimes it's good to hide your stupidity.

2. Do you want to see where Kenyans live or you want to argue about city administration? You're a confused fellow. Different cities are administered differently. Nairobi city is under the Nairobi County Government - the whole of it. Nairobi's districts are simply governing boundaries there's no uniformity of standards of living within a single district. Karen for instance is in the same district with Kibera. You can't use districts to show where the lower middle class of Kenya lives. Some neighborhoods may have their own localized governing bodies that come up from a special arrangement amongst residents but such arrangements are not part of the national structure. It thus seems you're clearly scared considering you're using an excuse that has no relation to the quality of homes that you initially wanted to compare to get out of the comparison.

Conclusion - you're a troll.

Land has a lot to do with it just 600+km square and most of it residents are slum dwellers compared to 3000+km square where you hardly hear of slums.

We never compared the ancient city to your slums you Kenyans did. All we did was to prove that they are not slums. They were only built with what was available at that time which was zinc roofing sheets.
1. Only 6% of Nairobi is under slums.
2. I hope you understand the 696 sq. km for Nairobi and 3000 sq. km for Ibadan do not represent the urban areas of the two cities. If you thought so then I'm debating with someone who's illiterate.

Look closely into your pictures, those buildings are mostly storey buildings. Well built with bricks from century back, it still exists. Why Nairobi slum are real definition of slum, haggard building, poor drainage, open stool expulsions, littered environ everywhere. And the last time I checked the land area of Ibadan was 3,080 km square, why Nairobi is....
What has land area got to do with it?

It's a pity you're comparing normal housing in Ibadan to a slum in Nairobi. Here is what normal housing in Nairobi looks like.

These are the houses with the brown roofs. Tell me if UN have ever called Ibadan a slum.
Not as bad as Kibera once but considering Kibera is a slum in Nairobi and this is normal housing in Ibadan then I really feel for Ibadan. Meanwhile the slums in Ibadan like this one below are just as bad if not worse than Kibera.

You need to have a close look at the ancient city called Ibadan. Most of the houses were built long before independence and the zinc roofing are now brown. They are proper houses with road, electricity, water and sanitation.

You most be drunk to think most place in Ibadan looks exactly like that. Where are all the new houses built since 70s,80s,90 and even recently? Did they buy old brown roofing sheets for them too.
Ancient or not, this place is crap. Look at Lamu Kenya that is older than Ibadan and has maintained it's ancient architecture. See the difference.

That's 450 not 350thousand.That alone is larger than many places with city status. The question is: how did the authorities allow this inhumanity to take root in a supposedly well run and tourism focused small city like Nairobi? It's a good thing however that the present admin seems to be doing something about it.But I read in the Economist that the rate is so slow the cleanup will take a thousand years. The magazine blamed this on the government and the slum dwellers.
Wow.... a Nigerian wants to lecture me on how Nairobi has so many slums now. So nice of you. Meanwhile 90% of Ibadan looks like this.

Let me firstt address these spurious claims by asking u this.....

Do u beloeve this guy claiming that Ajegunle slum has an estimated population of 4mln?
i

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tO0hQHou1cw

I guess u dont. If it is true that Ajegunle really has that many people, then there is no way Kibera is the largest slum in Afrrica.

Such are the fallacies that have been spread about the Kibera slum by such documentalists and NGO groups seeking to fleece donors........I have pointed that out countless times here.
Many seasoned demographic experts disputed right from the onset this claim about Kinera hosting 1 to 2.5mln ressidents begun to emerge, in their argument, that there is no way such a small piece of land 225ha or 2.48sq.km can contain that many pipo. That Kinera could comtain no more than 500k residents.

The 2009 census proved them experts right, it established that Kknera had in fact far less pipo than the NGOs claimed- only 170,070 residemts. What is more, that Kinera was noy even the most populated slum in Nairobi.
20km to the east of Nairobi is Mukuru slums, which had 201,000 residents. Mathare slums had 80000 people.

Just like in the Ajegunle case above, those documentalists and the NGO never went out of their way to comduct census to determine the actual population of those slums. There figures are based on their wild, overheated conjectures.

And may I inform u that it is not true that 65% of Nairobi comprise of slums. U can even comfirm that by searching up the aerial shots of Nairobi or thru the satellite photos. Slums comprise less than 10% of the Nairobi lamdscape.....yes, I can prove that, in the map below.

However, 50% of the Nairobi residents are crammed in this slums. That is sad.
Thank you Hbuyosh. I hope those who have an honest need to learn will learn. Even 50% is too much. See,

Kibera - 170k
Mukuru - 200k
Mathare - 80k
That's 350k and those three slums hold over 80% of slum dwellers in Nairobi. The most the slum population of Nairobi can go is 500k which will represent around 12.5% of the total Nairobi population.

If yes, they will take you to the source of the information. I believe you can do that if Kenya's education is not dead.
BTW, before posting links here, read the whole article to avoid embarrassing yourself. It's a pity you never read from your link that from laterr map analysis it's been concluded impossible for Kibera area to hold over 270k people. Pathetic human being you are.
