Lexusgs430: What type of scanner was used to diagnose the culprit been the thermostat? I would like to buy that scanner..... ........... If the thermostat is locked, simply replace the thermostat........... Don't know the kind of scanner as I wasn't there when it was done.it's my friend that the car is with that was there.how does one know if d thermostat is locked. |

sultaan: try and explain the problem and the condition when it occurs.
Your explanation was not very clear about when the car is in motion
Take a pic of the dash when it overheating and normal because some of our people consider half way overheat I meant that when the temp gauge goes up to almost red and I park d car, I do not see coolant from the radiator heated and spilling over as is usual with overheating conditions.it's only d temp gauge that goes up and this occurs mostly when the a.c. is on and the car is in traffic for a long period. The car is not with me presently so I can't get a pic at this time. Thanks |

EgunMogaji: You should consider sharing the details of this mechanic.
We need to support the good guys and banish the bad ones to oblivion.
PS: The decision to change a head gasket can be made scientifically by specific tests. So does the car now run without a thermostat? |

Please I need help from the experienced Honda users in d house. My 2007Honda civic overheats though not from the radiAtor or fan because when the car is parked, nothing is visible in the bonnet but the temperature gauge goes up. After a scan, the thermostat was the culprit and I was asked to remove it completely.so my question is whether this is a good idea, won't it affect the cooling of the a.c.? All suggestions are highly and promptly welcome.. |

TokyoBulls: I really don't think we stand a good chance if we negotiate individually. 100K looks like nothing until you think of scale. Assume there are 6,000 drivers/cars on Uber, 100K immediately becomes N600M which is pretty significant. Imagine if we succeed at getting LASG to remove one zero, then they will still make N60M per annum which is significant. Uber can deduct from source. N10,000 looks more like it rather than N100,000. Per car. i get your point. but my question still is how do we come together as a unit. if we need to form an association then lets do ASAP.after which we can sit down with Uber and LASG to thrash this thing out. does everyone operating at the moment have the license? |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Najm(m): 11:10pm On Dec 05, 2016 |
TokyoBulls: Nice to see the many operational challenges. Overall, I hope we are all keeping well. We were informed by Uber that they met with LASG and they demanded N100,000 per car per annum for registration and each partner will need to pay PAYEE as an individual to LIRS or Corporate Income Tax to FIRS as a registered business. The best way is to negotiate as a unit. If you allow VIO/LASG to deal with each driver/partner separately then we do not stand a chance. It is already very easy to get cars impounded and ticket them N60,000. That's more than your net income per car per week. If same car gets impounded again during the month, the business will significantly suffer. Remember the N60,000 fine excludes the additional costs associated and the revenue lost due to down time. so whats your suggestion to put an end to this? how do we negotiate as a unit? |

vpaymoney: Let him produce the number that requested him and we follow up. We must stand up against this and trust me those vios aren't smart at all. I can tell from our conversation. That is why I call first in areas like Ikeja, Adekunle, Surulere. Na to cancel str8 if I notice any sharp play. #Instinctandgut! No one is perfect tho'. That is where the asso comes in. @vpaymoney.There is nothing to follow up here.the person that requested for the ride was the zonal head of that area so even if u had called there is no way u would have found out.as I called him several times on that same number and even met him at his desk. @kude.thanks a lot. @twentycent.just do all I listed in my earlier post and I trust u'll be just fine. @chillex8.that's what he's been doing since yesterday.will continue that pattern until I can raise the cash for d license. |

No I have not got the license yet.coughing up 100k for now is not easy after pAying 60k fine.
Operational License(Code of conduct bureAu,opposite police college,ikeja GRA)_100k.....car owner
Accreditation(LASDRI Office in oshodi or adeniji)_1k....driver will use this to get the badge.
Driver's Badge(Code of conduct bureAu,opposite police college,ikeja GRA)_6k....driver.
LASDRI DRIVERS license(oshodi or adeniji)....I think it's 1k too....driver.
That explains it all I believe and u won't have any worries again....I hope. |

protocol: Bro is ur car out? Not yet ...although they have given the directive to let all the cars go, my driver is yet to collect mine he's been waiting there for a while now. I believe once the 60k fine is paid, tax clearance done, they'll release d car. I hope there will some communication from Uber on this issue as it was quite an embarrassment. Uber knew about this license thing from the start, they should have put it as a requirement for joining the platform. Fingers Crossed. |

....Hmmmm....as at this morning, a vio official told my driver dey had impounded more than 70Uber cars statewide....it won't be far from the truth so Uber has to do something immediately. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Najm(m): 5:44am On Dec 01, 2016 |
Went to Uber office and dey said they will reimburse whatever VIO fine I incur, that they always do...I hope so. Next stop..VIO office Alausa, pleaded and pleaded for a rebate to no avail, they all insisted that I should pay the 60k o and that even if I pay and don't get an operational license my car won't be released. They advised I go to their office opposite police college to find out how much the license costs and also get the accreditation and badge there. Looks like they have a major beef with Uber as they were quite dismissive on Uber issues.. After I get all that, they will now give me some kind of clearance that I'll take to where my car was impounded to get it released.. The whole saga just taya me..So will continue today and pray the car is released. ...will keep u guys posted. kude: .. how did it go? |

Many thanks for your response. I haven't paid the fine and I have booked an appointment with Uber for this afternoon. Why will Uber ask for hackney permit if it wasn't part of their requirements.i do not have hackney permit...will hear what they have to say when I get there later today...thanks again. eghuan1: Sorry am writing late, don't know if you have paid the fine. But if you have not.. This is what you will do. Take the the fine ticket to VIO office in Secretariatin alausa, explain to them what happened (please don't give anything to anyone at the gate), if you are lucky they will slash the fine by half, but you haveto get accreditation and drivers badge which will cost you 6k then proceedto pay your fine and hold your tax clearance certificate too when going to get your car. But first send the full fine ticket you were given to Uber and if you are lucky again, Uber will refund your money. This also depends on what was written on the fine. If it was accreditation and drivers badge, Uber will refund you but if it was another thing you are on a long thing. And hope you have your hackney permit cos Uber will ask for that.
Hope this was helpful |

Please I need help o.my driver just called me now that my car has been impounded by VIO.
They said Uber does not have operational license in Lagos state and they have issued a ticket of 60k. I need advise urgently....
They requested for a ride and deflated his tires when he got there...he has logged a complaint to Uber via the app and can't say when we'll get a response.

mrsage: Toyota corolla from 2006 model Toyota Yaris Honda City Hyundai elantra or accent.
I have a Honda City and Corolla in my fleet. So I can attest to the fuel efficiency.
Basically for me the smaller the engine size the better. Any engine above 1.8l is too big in my opinion.
Fuel economy is very important about how much fuel does ur corolla and city consume daily pls? |
