Politics / Peter Obi; Will “they” Allow Him Win The Presidency? by NamdyKel(m): 11:00pm On Jun 10, 2022
Will “they” allow Peter Obi win the Presidency?
Who are the “they”? Curious to know who the “they” are?

I will tell you who the “They” are…
1. IPOB/ESM claiming no election will hold in any South Eastern states. Note: don’t undermine this threat…this guys made every Monday public holiday in Igboland called “sit at home” they can scare eligible voters away with their threats.
2. The ruling APC. This party is full of cabals and factions though might appear divided but will do anything possible to retain power come 2023. The fact that ABAT is the flag bearer makes it more difficult. This man has thugs and touts mumu button. I fear if this election will be free and fair.
3. The core northern Muslims. I do not subscribe to the rumors that there’s a plot to islamize Nigeria, but if this were to be true, these set of people will rather vote a Northern muslim (Atiku or Kwankwaso) rather than a Christian Peter Obi.
4. The PDP. This party is desperate to return to power and will do everything possible to get it. Buying of votes, corruption and violence won’t be left out of their books. Atiku knows that this could possibly be his last chance at the Presidency and he has the financial backing to pull weight.
5. Anambra state. Peter Obi is from Anambra, there are about 2 other igbos from Anambra state vying for the post of President of FGN. Anambra state is an APGA state and it will be difficult for LP/Peter Obi to garner support in his own State. A lot of people are still not happy with him for betraying APGA when he left to join PDP.
5. The Cyber youth…yes the cyber youth. Most of us only make noise online and on social media, how many will actually go out on Election Day to vote? We feel it doesn’t concern us, especially the South Easterners. The Northern counterpart go as far as Niger republic and Mali to charter machinery voters during election. We need to learn grassroot politics from this people.
6. The foreign interference. Don’t be surprised that majority of the crisis caused in a country was secretly caused or supported by the world powers (politically superior countries) they target countries with prospect (mineral resources etc) where they can milk the silly African country dry by supporting bad leaders indirectly. This is however a story for another day. Read about the activities of CIA, MI16, MOSSAD etc for more info
7. Nigerians in diaspora. These set of people only make noise abroad but will never come down to Nigeria to vote. They are much on Twitter, they bear Nigerian names, involve deeply in anything Nigeria but will never participate.
8. The two party system supporters. These set of people only know APC and PDP. They believe any other candidate from any other political party is just wasting time and resources. They argue with you till tomorrow, telling you how LP has no structure, how Peter Obi can’t smell 4th position bla bla bla. Watch out for them, they never support anything unique, just to maintain status quo recycling old and bad leaders, even when they truly know this fact, but they stick with APC or PDP.
9. Boko Harram and co. This people will never want a Christian President for Nigeria. Goodluck Jonathan is a witness. The fact Atiku and Tinubu are both Muslims is a relieve kinda to them.
10. Nigerians with corrupt mindset. This group is self explanatory. Anyone with a hidden agenda for Nigeria not to move from consumption to production just because that will disrupt whatever financial gain they are making from a damned economy will never support anyone with good intentions to change the narrative.
I could go on and on but these 10 set of people is a summary.

Please kindly note that this isn’t a politically motivated discuss, it is 100% my personal opinion and might be somewhat controversial.
It doesn’t mean I am rooting for or against Peter Obi’s candidacy.

Thank you.

I was rescheduled to take the online test last week from Monday- Friday but didn't get any link from them. I kept checking my mail and spam messages but to no avail. Pls what will be our fate?

Same issue with me. Check your mail if you got any message from ICPC with a test score.
Cause I got test score without attempting the test itself. Very confused recruitment process.

I don't understand you ,is it that u tried to login and if failed every time or u where waiting for the mail and didn't attempt to login.what I feel is those that didn't write at all and was waiting for the mail, Maybe base on how the test was programmed it automatically generated the scores.i don't think someone will use you email to login, but if so is not dscl fault.but otherwise that was improper from them.. well applicants dey too much, all this is just tactics to reduce population.what I am waiting for is those that wrote without getting the mail if they will be given a score or just eliminate them.lolllllll Nigeria.

This thing is simple English na, the screenshot I posted earlier is what kept displaying everytime i tried to login to take the test. Mind you, i was unable to see any questions, so how did I take a test I didn’t even see the questions?
Someone posted a link to check the score of the previous test we did before the rescheduling. I attempted to check the score using that link but nothing came up.
I am however bewildered to see a test score of an assessment I didn’t even get the opportunity to take.
I just need someone else to confirm if they experienced this same thing cause i recall as at 4pm on Friday people like me without rescheduled email for the link to retake the test were many.
Even though I wasn’t going to trust this recruitment process by DCSL and ICPC, at least let everyone have a fair playing ground to succeed.
Could this be that ICPC are equally corrupt? This is a case of clear cut robbery and corruption.
I kept checking my spam from Monday till late Friday….No mail! Now they scored me ZERO?
Haba na! It’s totally wrong!
If they claimed I took the test, they should provide evidence of when I logged in and took the test! I am not that daft that I won’t even score at least 5/25! Why 0/25?
Best of luck to those who got great scores….i wish you well! When you get there, use your office to mitigate corrupt practices even in recruitment process.
Let’s have a great week!

Maybe someone has used your email address to log into the test portal, and they are unable to answer the questions, or they log out back without answering any questions.

Else, I don't think and I have not sent anyone else who claimed that he was sent a score of zero without even logging into the test portal to take the test.

To be on the safer side, you can share the screenshot of the mail you were sent informing you that you scored zero. Let us see if it is any different from ours, then you will know what has really happened.

I don’t understand you man. What do you need a screenshot of the score for when I already made it Public I was scored 0 without being able to attempt the test!
Anyways I will attach the screenshot of the error message I kept getting each time I logged in to take the test.

It’s amazing how you get to be scored on a test you never got a chance do to.
Waited for the link to the rescheduled test but nothing came in. Only for ICPC to send me a mail in the early hours of this morning telling me I scored 0. Just imagine that!
Sent mails to DCSL and ICPC…no response except automatic response from DCSL.
This Recruitment process strikes me as a whole lot of SCAM!

grin You're a funny man. He choose "Cannot Say" not because he was trying to be honest but because he was running out of time.

His approach was in fact the best because choosing randomly might get him nothing but choosing "Cannot Say" may get him one or two more correct answers. Cannot say is also actually a common answer.

Did you study the past questions? If you did, you will observe that “cannot say” answer isn’t up to 10 in the entire question. You should only choose “cannot say” because the question asked has no relative relationship with the topic content. Choosing “cannot say” for a question whose answer is “True” or “False” gets you ZERO.
The person in question choose “cannot say” for questions 15-30! And you said it’s the best thing to do? I laugh in Spanish.

Just finished mine
Was on number 15 in the verbal section when my laptop went off

I quickly put on the generator and switched my laptop back ON, luckily for me I was left with just 4 mins remaining and it seemed my webcam was no longer ON, so I just guessed the remaining 15 questions by picking CANNOT SAY because I was already destabilized so to start glancing through the passage which won't help that moment.

I have mailed them explaining what I faced, hopefully I get a good response soon.

This assessment isn’t a personality test. They ain’t interested in your emotions or ability to be honest. All they require is your ability to understand what you read, assimilate and interpret correctly the content of the topic. Simply put, your ability to follow instructions is being tested here. Choosing “Cannot Say” for the remainder of the assessment I’m sorry isn’t your best shot.
But anyways, I wish you goodluck.

Pls, I need to practice more oo.. More past questions & answers jare. Don't want to disappoint my family.lol

Clue to ace the verbal.
1. Don’t answer the questions based on your own personal knowledge of the topic. Always answer the questions based on the content in the passage.
2. Be very careful with picking your answers, any content in the question you can’t relate to i.e you didn’t see in the passage is definitely a “cannot say” answer.
3. Check well to confirm your True or False answer. For example, the passage says, “Total number of childbirth increased by 20% after proper medical care” then the question says “Proper medication decreased the total number of childbirth” according to the passage the answer is “False”. It increased not decreased. If you’re not careful enough you might select “True” because you remembered reading something related in the text.

The verbal is very tactical don’t rush it.

There’s no time to do the calculations. From my study so far, you spend at least 3 minutes on each questions with exceptions to some straightforward questions. You will only spend less time if the question is a familiar one (past questions) or you’re just doing a guesswork. My opinion though

Good evening Nairaland and every auto expert reading this, please I need help as regards my Honda Accord EOD 2003 model.
So I got this car June, 2020 Nigerian used anyways but the car looks clean and all. The day I bought it, my friend driving with me inside. We noticed the car refused to accelerate while on low speed with the AC on. A hard press on the accelerator just makes the car fire without motion. We had to put it off and restart before it picked up again. We felt it was just fuel issue and over looked it. But since then, this same issue has been persistent, whenever I’m in an hold up with the car ac on, this same scenario happens. But when driving without the ac, no issue the car moves smoothly.
I would like to ask, as anyone experienced this before? How was it resolved?
What can I do to salvage this situation? Most diagnostic test done didn’t point out anything in the gear box area, mechanics I have met in Abuja don’t have an idea of the cause, and I don’t want anyone doing a trial and error with my car.
Please kindly drop your advice on this.
In anticipation, thank you all.

Nairaland / General / Power Tussle And The State Of Nigeria Development by NamdyKel(m): 10:43am On Jan 11, 2019
Power tussle and the state of Nigeria development

As the Nation Nigeria draws closer to Election year (2019) it is sacrosanct that the Nigerian citizens, whom will be the ones to vote political aspirants into various political office, should know the difference between a greedy political ambition of new aspirants and the phobia of returning to private life by any sitting aspirant who seeks re-election.

It saddens my heart to note that most of the political aspirants today falls into one of the categories mentioned earlier. A lot of our politicians don't have a genuine reason for contesting. Many have no feelings for the poverty ravaging the masses nor do they care about the economic downturn in a country known to be a former giant of Africa.

Politics they say is a game of numbers; but in Africa I'm afraid to say that politics has become a game of power tussle at the espense of National Development.

I was discussing with my very good friend, Mr A.D Omotosho Yayi about the state of National Development presently experienced in Nigeria. We talked at length, mostly over Whatsapp and in the group we both belong. He made cogent points salient, and expressed his dissatisfaction with the system and the people. Please read below, in his own words what he had to say during one of our interactive sessions.

" i feel the major reason we are no longer working as a nation or not doing fine as we used to do in the past is due to the kind of political system we run. It is pertinent we know that our political system doesn't have the capacity to attract our best men and women, all we have today are either economic scavengers or political cankerworms. I have always been saying it and will keep saying it, we (the elites) are the problem here. We are exposed enough to know the track records of the aspirants, we should be able to access and recommend the good ones but instead we are being used by this unfortunate leaders because we lack values and integrity.

In a bid of considering a candidate for a political position, it is extremely imperative that we consider the person's track records.

Our best men and women are everywhere, from our neighborhood to our communities. We should find them, encourage them, motivate them and even volunteer for them. Until we begin to do this, we might never get it right again."

I have critically considered his words and with all sincerity, we all are to blame if we have bad leaders at the hem of National affairs.

Nigeria as a developing economy could be crumbled just by a simple act of electing a President. Many foreign Financial institutions have warned Nigerians ahead of the forthcoming elections. They have predicted what and what will happen if so and so wins, and what might not happen if this person doesn't win. As a patriotic Nigerian, I might not fully give attention to dooms day predictions for the economy of my beloved country, but I have the opportunity to reverse such doom by making sure that people get educated and enlightenment on the importance of electing the right candidates.

Kudos to the conveners of One Nigeria Reality Project (ONRP 2018) an educative and culturally incorporating programme organized by the leadership of #YouthDecide2019 in conjunction with #YALINETWORK which have made positive impacts in getting Nigerian Youths home and abroad active in the pursuit of greatness for our dear country Nigeria by making the people aware of the importance of the right leadership at all political office come 2019.

It is worthy to note that other campaigns and organizations are also not sleeping on their oars to make sure Nigeria get the right candidates for all political office available during the election. I might not be able to mention names, but for everyone of you and organizations that has the goodwill of Nigeria at heart in the forthcoming elections, only God will reward your efforts in the sensitization efforts towards a successful February 2019 elections.

I might have digressed a little from the main purpose of this write up but Power tussle and the state of Nigeria development is conceived to make the masses aware of the selfish desires of some aspirants to suck the Nation dry at the espense of National Development. Nigerian politics shouldn't be a 'Do or Die' affair. If the people don't want you representing them, Boss please honorably resign or step down. Nigerians are very intelligent, you can't proclaim yourself a systematic Mayor running a family heritage or empire. The Era of vote buying I believe by now should have passed. My only fear is the state of poverty ravaging the populace due to hardship presently experienced Nation wide. We might still see a few persons who will collect monetary gifts from aspirants for votes. But notwithstanding, if the election is free and fare which we all hope it would be, without vote buying or rigging then the right leader will emerge. Nigerians should be mindful though not to vote based on sentiments and religious or tribal differences.

Every aspirants should first put the people first, that is put Nigerians first not your ambitions, or greed while seeking political office. Most people believe that the easiest way to be a millionaire in Nigeria is when you join politics. That is why every Dick and Harry want to run for office not minding the fact that he or she isn't academically fit, morally fit, physically fit, mentally fit and even healthy to hold such political office.

Those who want a short cut to success, wealth and popularity decide to borrow money or get a God father who will sponsor campaigns and when they win, become loyal to such God fathers while neglecting the people they promised to serve. The greedy ones already in power are filled with selfishness and pride, they have experienced fame, power, and free money that nobody will question its source because while in power you are immune from Financial Crime Agencies prosecution. The fear of going to prison for financial crimes committed while in office or the phobia of losing respect, wealth and popularity will make this category of politicians do whatever it takes to remain in power.

When we have people with such mentalities in power then never expect Nigeria to develop economically. You might be shocked to know that some individuals or group of persons are actually benefiting handsomely in financial terms that Nigeria is referred to as a Developing Nation. That's a story for another day, ask UNESCO, USAID, DFID,UN, AU, I'M etc how much they have expended in Nigeria to make a change, but what do we get? Crimals, insurgency, frauds etc.

By 2019, Nigeria as a Federation will be 59 years in Independence. What do we have to show? We still depend on other countries to do virtually what we could have done ourselves. Needless to compare Nigeria to other continents economically, let's even just do the comparison within Africa. South Africa is far ahead of us in virtually all financial variables, Ghana is doing much better than we are in terms of stability, Libya was doing great before the Gaddafi saga, Tunisia, Egypt, to mention a few have something unique that Nigeria struggles with. The greedy selfish politician will never think about National Development, all he is after is power, fame and money. Acts like this will not make us advance as a Nation.

Why do we have to send our children to schools in Republic of Benin, Ghana, South Africa, Madagascar, Mali? If we utilize our resources right and make maximum use of our educational workforce, other African countries should rather send their children to Nigeria for quality education. But no, such isn't the case presently. Our educational system is almost zero with graduates being referred to as half-baked with many lacking entrepreneur skills. Nigeria is a populous country, we have if not the highest population in Africa with our birth rates increasing exponentially with little or no resources made available to cater for this teaming growing population.

I am proud to be a Nigerian, and I believe we can get it right, we can make National difference, we can forge a healthy and booming National economy. There's need for a total mindset re-orientation and overhaul. We all should be united to lift Nigeria out of the quick sand of mediocre into development limelight.

We have the people and resources to make this positive change, we only lack the oneness and honesty to make it work. We should discourage any attempt by any person or persons with selfish interest and not National interest to lead this great Nation Nigeria.
Our politicians should stop the power tussle and work towards National Development.
I strongly believe Nigeria will be great and I will contribute my own quota to make Nigeria a great Nation.

Compliment of the season and do have a prosperous New Year 2019.

My name is Nnamdi Kelechi A.

Politics / Vote Right: Your Right by NamdyKel(m): 10:21am On Jan 11, 2019
Vote Right : Your Right

A lot of people do not know the importance of election, neither do they know that it is constitutionally Right for every eligible Nigerian to participate in elections around their constituency. Some decided to get their PVC's probably because Banks require it to open accounts, some have it because they see people queue to get it and decided to join in, others have the PVC because they feel it could be used or required to get a job or better their lifes.
According to the Nigerian law, every person from age 18 has a Right to vote and be voted for. I wasn't overly excited when I heard about the passage into law the "Not too young to run" bill. Although I give kudos to the conveners for this accomplishment in the electoral reform in Nigeria. They have done a good job by reminding the Government of the constitutional Right of every eligible Nigerian to vote and be voted for.
If you openly pass a law granting eligible Nigerians freedom to vote and be voted for, then why do you have to restrict them from contesting political office? The Government were simply reminded of the people's Right. I however was surprised at the manner at which the present Government after passing the Bill celebrated and intend using it as a campaign selling point in other to win the hearts of some youths who might not have been aware it's their Right not to be restricted from contesting; obviously this bill is long over due.
The 2019 general election is virtually upon us. In less than four months it would be in full glare. A lot of activities in various political parties and groups, a lot of dramas and show of power during the various party primaries has shown how desperate the typical Nigerian politician can be just to gain power and relevance.
Recently I heard someone say something reasonable and really thoughtful, permit me to paraphrase it this way; "As a politician vying for a political office, you are supposed to be the servant of the people, why then must you the servant kill the people you intend to serve, just for you to get the opportunity to serve them?" Think about this deeply, why do our politicians kill the people they intend to lead?
What else do they seek political offices for? If not to enrich themselves and their families, gain and wield power at will, get popular and influential in the society, ride the best bulletproof cars available, fly first class in and out the country, send their children abroad to study, travel abroad at will in the name of medical check ups, holiday in any city of choice and then return to collect sitting allowance, travel allowance, vehicle allowance, clothing allowance, health allowance, education allowance etc. One day a politician will rise from the dead and demand death allowance. Greed is killing this Nation, corruption didn't start suddenly, it has undergone processes. Poverty isn't just not having the financial capability to meet essential needs and necessities alone. You could be rich and wealthy yet you are in poverty, poor in attitude, poor in integrity, poor in loyalty, poor in discipline. If this is you, then there's a 99.9% chance you will be corrupt. I wouldn't want to dwell on this corruption issue as that would be a discuss for another day.
My main aim of writing this is to let every eligible Nigerian know that he/she has a Right to vote right! "Vote right; it is your Right".
Sincere appreciation to the #YALINETWORK and the conveners of #YouthDecide2019. This are visionary leaders, youths who have seen the need to get like minded youths involved in the forthcoming elections. Not just being involved, but also get people educated on the need to utilize our constitutional Rights to vote the right candidates at all political office.
We the Nigerian Youths have been deceived and deprived for so long, we are called "leaders of tomorrow" yet our so called "fathers of yesterday are the grandfathers of today, yet fight each other to be leaders of tomorrow " where then are the Youths? We just sit and watch, relegated down the pecking order to hustle hard, either by crook or goodwill just to be reckoned with in the society.
In a working economy, at age 16, a youth already has his/her life planned out. Awaiting available supports for implementation. This youth already has a structured plan for his/her future and then pursue after it. In this developed Nations, a politician vying for any political office has to critically think of something unique and different project to undertake. A politician in the United States of America or United Kingdom for instance cannot come out and tell the people he wants to construct roads, provide water, make available power supply, build schools and hispitals, or say he wants to reduce PMS price or fight corruption. They already have all these basic amenities in place, it would be absurd to use that as a campaign promise for election. Unfortunately, these so called 'promises' are what our Nigerian politicians use every time in campaigns. Sadly, they always fail woefully never ever fulfill such promises. It is the constitutional Right of the people to have access to clean water, good means of transportation, adequate power supply, good and standard health facilities, good education etc. Why do we have to beg for our constitutional Rights as a people? Why should our politicians promise us what he should already have without much ado? Why do they even celebrate a project as little as providing pipe borne water? They should be ashamed of themselves.
When I read comments on facebook, twitter or instagram of youths supporting and listing the so called achievements of the political party they are affiliated with, I marvel at the level of illiteracy been exhibited. You are busy abusing a fellow citizen because you feel your political party has done or completed a particular project which ordinarily should have been done and by constitutional Rights you should have access to. Oh what a pity!
Our politicians promise us good transportation system, yet they ride powerful cars with escort, fly in choopers or first class cabin. They promise us safety, yet they surround themselves with securities after instigating rancor. They promise us good health, yet they travel abroad to get theirs. They promise us good education, yet their children study abroad. They promise us electricity, yet they purchase generating sets and budget heavily for same. They promise to fight corruption, yet they steal public funds and siphon same. They promise us freedom, yet they make laws to silence us. Who is deceiving who?
Fellow Nigerian Youth, this is a clarion call to know your constitutional Right. Read and expand your horizon, study the constitution and understand your Right. We have been prevented from exercising our Rights for so long. They think we are fools, uneducated and uncivilized, because we probably attended public schools all our lifes, they think they can buy us over or shut us down with intimidation? They will be shocked soon enough, we are wiser now.
Arise oh Nigerian Youth, you have a Right to vote and to vote the right candidate. Do not sell your vote, do not be intimidated, do not be submerged in the political shambles around you, do not feel inferior, do not be afraid to air your view and utilize your constitutional Right to vote in the right candidates and vote out the wrong ones.
Nigerian Youths, it is time to decide the future of Nigeria, it is time to take the bull by the horn and lead it on to Glory. It is time to pull down the powers that be and pull up the power for all, it is time to stand up for your Right and get it right, it is time to meander the political turbulence of Nigeria, it is time to be focused and jointly achieve a common goal, it is time to vote and be voted for.
The Nigerian Youths will decide 2019. Youths obey the clarion call, let us lift our Nation high...
My name is Nnamdi Kelechi, I am a Nigerian Youth.
