onatisi:It can't stand. Even in the kingdom of wild animals, there is some level of sanity and decorum. The exercise was actually criminal and will be probed. tuoyoojo:Only in Nigeria where low-life rogues are allowed to steer affairs of a largely debased population. |
Rich4god:Okay. What if El Rufai and co intend to support another candidate from the South? |
The government of the day should take criticism and complaints from citizens in good faith. Attempting to intimidate or gag anyone would not only be futile, but counterproductive especially to their already dwindling popularity. The criticisms they receive today are child's play compared to their condemnable activities against GEJ's government when they were desperate for power. |
Homeboiy:Edo State government needs to sensitize residents in the State to abide by the laws of the State. The disregard for laws, safety and even common sense is at an appalling level. Notably, commercial drivers deliberately violate traffic laws by ignoring traffic lights, driving against traffic and stop in the middle of the roads to drop and pickup passengers. This can be tackled in a multifaceted approach. Just a few: i) engage the public through sensitization and awareness campaigns via the ministry of information and orientation regarding laws of the State and penalties ii) place sanctions on the State NURTW whenever any of these drivers violate the laws. The agencies should just make video recordings the vehicles and the licence numbers. This would be a plausible way to generate revenue for the State while enforcing sanity iii) ensure perpetrators are brought to book; penalties should be stringent; iv) ensure corrupt personnel of the agencies face the full extent of the law; there are multiple cases of some of these personnel extorting law-abiding citizens, thereby bringing disrepute to the agencies and their colleagues who put in a lot of effort in their duty. v) investing in networks of surveillance cameras, etc. If this is not feasible presently, recordings can be made by phone cameras and video recording devices installed in vehicles. As for 'traders' who occupy the roads, Edo State government Must take full responsibility for whatever mishap happens there. For a government to be in a State and people flagrantly violate the State right in the capital city is gross irresponsibility. Agencies such as PSRT and EDSTMA need to have their personnel trained for the tasks ahead of them, and those who compromise their efforts should be purged out of the agencies. The military may have to be engaged at key spots to support personnel of these agencies; they have our full support. Edo State government has to tackle this menace deliberately perpetuated by a few, which poses great risks and inconvenience to citizens of the State. |
Igbo:Someone may have reported the thread. With our evolving world and improvement in information technology, the era of dependence on lies and fables will soon be extinct. |
chrisifeanyi:You'll be shocked it's a fellow Igbo orchestrating the witchhunting. |
What is your problem with South-South? Who told you it was named based on geographical coordinates? We choose to call it that - South-South and nothing anyone can do about it! There are places in the world called South-Central and North-Central, with no funny characters asking stupid questions. Ikwerres and co say dem no know una, una no go rest? |
maivd:Many of those perpetuating these things in Abuja are not Northerners. I've managed cases of victims abducted from this same Area 1 in the past. Many are abducted through 'One Chance' (Along). |
Attempting to portray an ethnic coloration with a few paid hungry folks? |
Also in Benin City - #955/Litre |
This PM regularly receives wotowoto from Kemi. Nothing new or unusual here. |
This should be replicated in all States of the Federation. Also needed is some regulation of the ridiculous prices of properties for sale. |
nnamdi640:Igbo coup or not, no one can remove any ethnic group from the equation of ruling (leading). Besides, the decisions leading to the coup and events which followed were those of certain individuals and not everyone in a whole ethnic group. Apart from Peter Obi who made some significant impact in the 2023 presidential elections on the platform of the Labour Party, no prominent Igbo politician has emerged on the platform of any of the major political parties since 1999. In addition, it's just 25+ years since this democracy and the few individuals from other ethnic groups who emerged as president spent 8 years each. Definitely, an individual of Igbo extraction would emerge with time. |
Of course, any intelligent, discerning person knows IBB never mentioned such. He rather narrated parts of the events and perceptions of various people which followed the events. I never saw where he stated or asserted what certain folks have been making phony celebrations about. It will be clarified, albeit with some embarrassment, in the coming days. A group even came out demanding 10 trillion compensation. ![]() |
tishbite43:Nzeogwu died during the war (suicide, allegedly). How was he against Achebe publishing the manuscript? |
El-Rufai has a good chance of emerging as president if he contests. |
Investigation should be commenced to find the culprits responsible for the murder of the officer. Such senseless mob action should never be condoned. |
christopheojo:Dem wan move from frying pan to Fire be dat. Except they choose to live peacefully. |
Female native doctor? Here is a Delta North indigene explaining what the Asagba declared. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5GWUU4V3oY?si=APZGeaTi4eLsR5Pz |
This one who ordered the killing of people is talking about justice. You may need to get various accounts of former ipo.b members to understand the atrocities of this individual. |
28k USAID Health workers in Nigeria? FG should check again. |
KnowAll:It's done in many States in Nigeria. The problem is many Nigerians choose to live lawlessly. A full grown adult would throw wraps and even food remnants out of moving vehicles, full grown adults would stand close to the road to urinate, etc. Unfortunately, environmental law enforcement in many parts of Nigeria is almost nonexistent. |
See Judiciary wey dey function. |
mikmash:Nok culture and history extends across the middle belt to parts of Edo. |
sylve11:There is no history to read about. Therefore everybody is Igbo and on Igbo land. ![]() |
Greenback:Esan, Afemai or Bini (who are all Bini by the way) have always been at the helm of affairs in various areas and capacity without disparity. Laughable certain outsiders think otherwise. |
Realeasing such individual would mean releasing all boko haram commanders in detention. Everyone will come out to beg for their terrorists. Rubbish! |
Most of those attacks are carried out by ESN / ipob herdsmen. |
Out of the names listed in the article I did not see one Edo name, not one ijaw name nor Idoma, Calabar, Gbagyi, Urhobo, Itsekiri etc. PhD holder even mentioned some Igbo names were included in those given appointments, but still went ahead to wail Igbos are being marginalised. What about other ethnic groups who had none? |
adecz:Some Igbos in diaspora are already ignorantly paying to be army generals in biafra; about N50m. There are also payments to have your face on the biafra currency notes. ![]() Just imagine one ekuke go just come from one country for Europe come dey oppress poor biafran citizens 'do you know who i am? Do you know I'm a general?' ![]() That is pesin with him k-leg buy 'general'. I no fit laff. These so-called agitators na scammers! |
