buhariguy: That's the point! The PDP aspirant, Asue is a well-known personality within leadership, corporate and government spheres with successes in virtually all his engagements, not just within Nigeria, but globally. Even constantly engaged at the National level irrespective of political party or affiliation; he was the chair of the Economic sovereign team in a previous administration. Is this the person Obaseki would want to 'control'? These are pluses for the State, rather than an individual with baggage of fraud, even at the international level. These are even potential leverages the likes of oshiomhole would use against him when he resists being controlled like a puppet. Moreover, We Edos know who we'll support to lead the State, irrespective of party or subethnicity. 2 Likes |

TheOgaBoss: This where you underestimate the Edos. You think Denco put himself there as HOR against the Igbonedions? How did he 'deliver his ward' against the Igbonedions? We look out for interests of the State, not ethnic or Oshiomhole's interest. |
Politics / Re: Edo 2024: Dennis Idahosa Thanks Supporters And President Tinubu by NaMe4: 9:36am On Feb 18 |
buhariguy: No zone can win the other two in isolation. Because Denco is from Edo South does not mean ALL indigenes of Edo South would vote for him. Edos do not reason in such manner. We totally reject such divisive, selfish agenda Oshiomhole is attempting to introduce into our State. A lot of Edo South delegates voted for Sen Okpebholo, as Edo Central delegates also voted for Denco and others; voting patterns were mixed as usual, but hope uzodimma proceeded to make an announcement different from what the REC made. 1 Like |
Politics / Parallel Edo APC Governorship Candidate Emerges by NaMe4: 8:29am On Feb 18 |
Another candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has emerged as the winner of the All Progressives Congress governorship primary election in Edo on Saturday. The Returning Officer, Stanley Ugboaja, declared Okpebholo the winner with 12,145 votes. Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, who is also the chairman of the APC primary election committee, had earlier declared a House of Representatives member, Dennis Idahosa, the winner of the primary election at the Protea Hotel. However, Ugboaja said he was the right person to announce the result while declaring Okpebholo the winner. “I am the right person to declare the results of this primary election but unfortunately I was not allowed to finish the announcement. We will continue the announcement here (Ize-Iyamu residence). “Having scored the highest number of votes, I hereby declare Senator Okpebholo the winner of the election,” he added. However, the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Peter Uwadiae, described the announcement by Uzodimma as illegal and urged the party hierarchy and APC members to disregard the governor’s action. https://punchng.com/parallel-edo-apc-governorship-candidate-emerges/

garfield1: What's miniscule about Esan votes? Edo South (the largest portion) has 46.5% of the total votes. And that's not even the critical factor as Edos are not fighting against one another; Popular opinion amongst Edolites today is a call for fairness from all zones. Oshiomhole will simply learn another new political lesson as better qualified candidates with credible track records and repute will be presented and supported on other platforms. |
Politics / Re: Edo APC Primary Produces 2 Candidates by NaMe4: 9:15pm On Feb 17 |
Oshiomhole is terrible in politics. Vindictive and non-calculative. He'll cause a loss for APC in Edo once again. This misadventure he's embarking upon would leave the political reputation of Denco terribly damaged as well, just as he did to Iyamu. Every Edolite knows the aspirants well. With the way it's going, pDP will continue in Edo. 13 Likes 1 Share |

Terrible control with players hitting the ball way beyond their own range, the passes, chai. Nigeria should groom home players who should be well-trained, not this pattern of gathering bench-warmers from various foreign clubs. Many of these players have questionable IQ. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Many people would prefer travelling by road rather than using a chopper as in most instances, the distance to be travelled isn't that significant. The problem with choppers is with any mishap, it's almost always fatal. |

Crime / Re: Driver Sets Edo Traffic Officer Ablaze, Flees by NaMe4: 7:41am On Feb 10 |
It definitely was expected to come to this point. When everyone acted carefree, allowing charlatans destroy the State. Most of these touts cannot attempt what they do in Edo in other States - Edo has become a free land to demonstrate idiocy. Over 90% of commercial drivers and delivery bike riders do not obey traffic lights. They drive past red lights, obstructing traffic and injuring or killing other road users. I have witnessed such accidents. Even some private drivers have shamelessly joined such low-level behaviour. The greatest blame goes to Edo State government and the EDSTMA. When many of them abandon the mandate and turn traffic management to a business venture, compromising the few who intend to work, this is what we would start seeing. In addition, there are some touts who wear brown polo shirts with black pants and face caps around Oba Market traffic light. Those ones have instituted severe nuisance there, targeting what they feel are expensive cars for extortion. Meanwhile, bus drivers have become wild chimpanzees at that area. 71 Likes 3 Shares |

Postinor: Amongst the PDP aspirants, Asue Ighodalo, who happens to be Esan sits miles ahead of the rest in terms of qualifications, leadership roles and performance, organisational success/achievements, and even philanthropy. Why is a particular set of aspirants so unsettled? Even if the ticket is handed to any of them, it would be a walkover for APC. |
