Gustavowhite:And there's peace and harmony amongst the groups. No one is trying to usurp the identity of the other. Everyone looks out for the interest of his community and brothers, not scheming to 'takeover' land. Do you know we have Ebiras and Ijaws in Edo? Have you heard any noise? zero8zero:In fact, provocative! |
Here is an Igbo man from Imo who claims Ikwerre, but still threatens to shed Ikwerre blood to get access to the sea. How can you claim to be Ikwerre and threaten to shed the blood of your people to get access to the sea? Very provocative tantrum from someone at such age who should know the repercussions of such irresponsible action. The Ikwerres are a distinct and recognised ethnic group. Individuals with such hate are the ones doing 'unification'? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hC8V2BUwzN4?si=5dB9BQDKLbw3RhDq |
Ifaejuna was the mastermind of that coup. Besides should Victor Banjo and Adeyemuga's involvement qualify the Southwest to join SE? |
He was freed of terrorism charges on compassionate grounds. There was overwhelming evidence of him inviting ipo.b to Lagos. |
Nanalucky:Which hen? At that time crude was yet to be used as an exportable commodity from Nigeria. The January 1966 coup was driven by pure greed and desperation for power. There had already been tensions and complaints in different parts of the Country due to the inequitable style of leadership notably in quarters led by some Igbos. Remember the interview granted by Ahmadu Bello? What of those who were lumped up in the Eastern region by the British? There are videos and documents of registered dissatisfaction by various ethnic groups (including the Ikwerres who still hold their stance till this day) in the Eastern region; Complaints of highhandedness, tribalism and ethnic-driven allocations. The Ambazonians had to find their way out of the Eastern region to join Cameroon. This was the general state of affairs at that time. History occurs to aid evolution. If some people refuse to evolve, but keep repeating the same errors, history will keep repeating itself. |
More strength to the best-performing minister. |
So security agencies should hold Reno for what exactly? Playing historical records? This fellow is one of those who would prefer history is hidden so they concoct lies tomorrow. There are a plethora of documented historical facts and records kept very safe which every generation will know of. History will be reintroduced to our schools to enlighten our citizens so miscreants won't jump out of nowhere to deceive the naive. He should focus his energy on calling to order the ipo.bs and various groups acting funny today so their cassettes won't be played tomorrow. |
The governor should pay more attention to improving the safety and quality of lives of residents in his State. If that is a very strategic area challenged with criminal activities due to poor infrastructure, why not intervene, rather than waiting for FG? |
Umuinyioku:Same with Shekau! He represented the struggle of Kanuris who are opposed to marginalisation and ethnic bigotry. Wicked Nigerians! |
gidgiddy:There are boko haram commanders who have spent over a decade in detention. Ignorant, underaged footsoldiers may be granted pardon after deradicalisation. Instead of leveling up his barbing skill in the UK, he even instituted a biafra radio, indoctrinating ipo.bs through lies and hate. You can see some of his products all over Nairaland barking 'everywhere is biafra land'. I doubt most even know the origin of the word 'biafra' sef. Boko no even do reach like this. |
Misconduct such as this would be part of the reasons APC would face an uphill task returning in 2027. The North is already gearing up, then you allow rogues in the South create more enemies out of stupidity. Allow the tribunals take place unhindered. |
Lol SSA on morals indeed |
So many wierd things in this report which reflects the level of social welfare, education and value system in the Nigerian society. |
Ngwamankilyou2:Clownery at its best. Which Igbo is indigenous in Edo State? Only migrants. The Ikas who settled in parts of Igbanke villages who you hope to slither in through have repeatedly knocked your heads they have no business with you. As for una ohanaeze, if una like give Togolese, na una wahala. |
Bede2u:Jaja of Opobo was a SLAVE in one of the Ijaw houses! No amount of denial can change this fact! Due to his loyalty, he was given freedom and later on, was even made a chief. Sometime later he migrated to OPobo, an indigenous area of the Ijaws, where overtime, was made a leader in the community. Bede2u:Jaja of Opobo was a slave. He was born in Umuduruoha, in present day Imo State and was sold as a slave at the age of twelve to an Ijaw master. He was even later resold to another Ijaw chief, Chief Alali who was the head of the Opubo Annie Royal House. In his adulthood, due to his loyalty and the magnanimus culture of the Ijaws he was even given a chieftancy. These events occurred in the 19th century. According to your concocted history, Opobo did not exist prior to the 19th century? These rebuttals are to dismiss all these conspired lies aimed at deceiving the naive. Lol Someone said he was kidnapped. By who? Guy, he was sold by his fellow Igbos. One question for you: What is the meaning of biafra? |
Bede2u: ![]() Is this to prove anything? Did Fubara confide in you that Igbo was his mothertongue? What then is the identity of those who 'claim' Fulani or Yoruba but can speak Igbo. Are they also 'denying' their Igbo identity? What's all the desperation about? |
Bullet4thiefnub:Assuming this is true, they should stick to a false blanket description ascribed by British strangers? Is the Idoma man or Nupe man or Gbagyi man Hausa? Well, there are multiple documented history of the Ikwerres and their recognition as a distinct ethnic group by not just the British, but even earlier explorers. Most importantly they are a recognised ethnic group by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. As far as ohanaeze president general matters is concerned, it can be given to even a Chadian, it's your prerogative. |
Ngwamankilyou2:LOL the ohanaeze president general is being rotated amongst Igbos resident in all 36 states? Interesting. |
SavageResponse:Lying is an integral part of their so-called struggle. |
Mindlog:Great! In fact, the language should be incorporated more in our media and learning centers. |
I think the magistrate has been dismissed. Next is Ijele. He has been held illegally following such criminal court orders. |
Yankee101:100% The funny thing is the ones crying the most right now are the worst. Just give them any MDA to head and see ethnically-based recruitment to ridiculous levels! |
Expected. Normal life for this group. |
o42austino:Of course, explorers and foreign merchants would definitely meet Igbo communities just about anywhere because in additional to Igbos being itinerant, these areas were commercial/trade centers around the coastal areas which was home to many ethnic groups. There are documented accounts of the Ikwerres being a distinct group of poeple as observed by German and English explorers in the 1800s. They also observed attempts by Igbos to undermine the culture and languages of these people in these areas, even in these earlier periods. Attached are excerpts from a few of such accounts. How all of a sudden, are Ikwerres now Igbos? Their people, elders and documented history keep saying otherwise. For the argument that Ikwerres began to distance themselves from Igbos after the civil war, the link below is a video of Ikwerres alongside Rivers indigenes protesting against biafra at the early periods of the war, at least TWO years before it ended. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuG2KZfpYPg?si=BMYT6TvBQHoSUiHe

Coming from someone who is a product of Ikwerre and Igbo intermarriage. Very insincere lot! |
That's physical abuse there. And such physical trauma to a child's head has potential complications; imagine hitting a child with a seizure disorder. Common sense would suggest the woman is a recalcitrant abuser, making it possible for her actions to be captured on camera; her actions were expected. Maybe CCTVs in classrooms would soon become a necessity. |
It's a known fact that Arochukwu belongs to the Akwa Ibomites (Ibibios) right from around 300AD (Originally Obong Okon Ita and Ibom). Following recurrent disputes with Igbo settlers who migrated to the area in waves, the Arochukwu (Aro) confederacy was established to seek peace in the region in the 1600s. The area was later renamed Arochukwu. Obong Okon Ita was also later corrupted to Obinkita. |
mightyhaze:Pesin even cry out say Burna don kukuma adopt the Okechukwu family. |
Stolen:Even the colonialists met the Ikwerres and understood they were distinct from Igbos.
|
allthingsgood:Chest pain, they are treating ulsah! |
This man is part Imo and is declaring Ikwerre Igbo. Typical! Intermarriages and migration are supposed to be natural activities which foster cohesiveness and growth, but some of these people are desperately trying to make other ethnic groups cautious of embracing such. |
