I understand you use Gen to make up for bad weather, insufficient storage/pv; but some people don't want anything gen whatsoever. Gen can also come handy and save the day but I'd rather manage my loads on bad weather/grid days than use gen. Our situations may be different as I don't often have my batteries depleted to the point of needing the help of gen or grid. I left grid to run in my place because I often don't use and or need it.

The OP is having a really unfortunate situation with the grid in his hood but that's not the norm.

If its this item below you removed and cleaned or changed the filter and erase the code and said code comes back after erasing it, then change the unit. That's you made sure the wiring is intact and harness connected. You can also try changing the unscrewing and changing the sensor

After Scanning, the only code is P2646

This is quite easy just clean the filter of the vtec solenoid behind the engine for starters. If problem persists (symptoms like your car in limp mode and can't rev past rpm 3000) then you might need to change the sensor of the vtec solenoid. But I've had this code multiple times and cleaning the screen helps

Since you are sure the wires are good and part working. Also check that your engine oil has been recently changed and not low in any way, lemme have the exact code to check the honda service manual

The check engine light is still on and it’s still the only code that’s up. If it’s cleared, it comes back on almost immediately u drive a minute.

The only code my Honda accord 2004 threw up was this and I replaced this stuff and the code is still showing up. The wiring is intact. What could be the issue, rewire dey suggest I replace ECU (brainbox)

What’s the solution please.

Same happened to my felicity hybrid, lost it to the first thunderstorm of last year, luckily it was fixed under warranty. Since then, my installer has incorporated layers of protection to the system. And it's working perfectly well

See if you can replace the damaged part. Try Alibaba if all fails here. Bought a part in Taobao to replace a damaged charger that I was unable to fix here.

Do you charge with grid, was the inverter connected to the grid line even when the grid had no supply?

It was but there was no power at the time. I don't have grid power for 2 years now, the 'AC in' is just for the big generator at night.

It's funny people assume it is only grid that damages appliances, even in solar it has its own perils , lightning strikes for instance can take out your appliances. So you have to protect from both ways . Even generator that is not regulated properly causes damages .

A lightening strike took out my axpert 3kva [ipowerplus] inverter and I'm so pained. Took the inverter for repairs and every where I took it in Anambra, I'm told its toast. I'm still looking for anyone that repair it maybe in Lagos. Currently in the market for a replacement and prices are scary

You need to install voltage/current limiter between your grid and the AVR so that this thing doesn't have to enter your AVR in the first place.

If your speed sensor isn’t good your gearbox won’t work properly and your gears won’t change up or down when it’s supposed to. Maybe that’s why your D light is blinking. You should replace the sensor so as not to introduce problems to your gearbox.

You can also scan your gearbox too but you will need a higher end scan tool and not the ones you used before.

Some gear codes can be picked by normal generic scan tool. Maybe he should try that ist

You can send samples from Nigeria to UK. I've had patients send sample for gene analysis for (brca gene) from Nigeria. It doesnt make sense to continue sending patients to UK to check for match

I don't know why people keep saying he wasn't a match and then decided to lie. For such procedure to be done, he would have been tested even before travelling for said procedure that's the standard.

Lol I'm starting to fill a liltlle vibration going up hill but I don't drive the car often to be sure. This problem has really been a mystery even in foreign honda forums

Nah changed transmission and front and rear engine seats and cv joints recently and so far not experienced this yet.

I must commend the good work being done on this thread. You have saved most of us from unnecessary auto headaches caused by unqualified technicians

The fuel economy on my 2006 Civic American spec. isn't encouraging at all.
Approximately 14 MPG is what I get for city drive While 17 MPG for highway drive with AC turned on.

The following troubleshooting has been done.
1. The exhaust has been checked for leaks but no leak detected.
2. 02 sensors tested ok
3. MAF sensor tested ok
4. Ignition coils tested ok
5. Spark plugs tested but can't ascertain if they are working properly.
The spark plug resistance is about 4000 ohm using a multimeter as against the 5000-6000 ohms for OEM brands


However, I had a P0118 code (not P0128 as earlier stated) when the vehicle was scanned. Despite having the cold switch sensor changed the code still persist.

Attached are the scanned results below

**The vehicle occasionally stalls before starting in the morning and during the day when the engine is hot.

**Lately I noticed the battery light is turned on for a short while and D green light blinks when I drive through pond of stagnant water/Rainfall runoff water. Power steering is hard within with short encounter. After few moments normalcy returns.

Moving forward...
1. What else can be done to solve the cold switch sensor problem?
2. What can be done to improve the poor fuel consumption?
3. For 8th generation (2006-2010) civic users. Please what is the average fuel economy (MPG) you attain from your respective vehicles?
4. How can the U0155 code related problem be fixed?

These responses might guide me on what to expect on the fuel economy of my honda civic ride.

Cold switch or coolant temperature sensor? Check the wiring if you are sure you replaced the sensor with a good one. Also your serpentine belt needs replacement for the battery light and power steering wahala as its loose hence all connected pulley parts temporarily misbehaves especially when wet

I pulled 209AH on that day but had to turned off the inverter manually that day. You can see it from my customized emoncms picture attached (Day Deepest Discharged). The data is from my BMV 702.

Maybe one day you can do a full discharge capacity test

Morning guys, I just scanned my car now and it brought up this code. P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1

Does that mean I need to change catalyst? It was confirmed that catalyst was in the vehicle but I’m now confused

Other causes include exhaust leaks which happened to me and code disappeared after it Das fixed. You can also try cleaning the cat. Look up videos

Sure Sir, a good example of that is the INEC Blue Battery that introduce many of us to LiFePo4 Battery. Some are still using them till date. They were imported for INEC voters registration of 2010 if memory serves me right!
