Grid is always cheaper. We don't do solar to compete with the grid on cost, but on availability and reliability. Reliability is something you can not guarantee with grid.

Guys, I will like to know if some of the veterans here and those who have had running systems with Lithium battery up for a while, have actually done cost analysis of your system in relation to cost of grid? Like Ikejaelectricity tarrif I believe is about N30 per KWh or there about. Is it possible to both generate and store power from solar at such low rate? Or is the advantage only in the constant electricity derived? I did some rough calculations for an off-grid system and it appears even in 10 Years I might not break even compared to paying PHCN.

u can still change the wires at that crack point.. replace it with a 4core 8mm or 6mm flex wire and run your 2 fangupsun CC

Lol unfortunately it's been cemented and painted and because the panels are on another roof about 35 meters away I used 16mm2 wire for the connection.

why not acquire another fangupsun 50A. that CC is great. split the panel 2s2p each.(4pcs each) u can use 2pcs of it on the same battery bank effortlessly. i doubt if felicity can perform like it.

Please is anyone aware if Felicity 100a mppt SCC has the float bug? I'm trying to upgrade my solar panels to 340w*8 for 24v setup and I'm looking for an affordable reliable SCC 100a. I was using fangpusun 100v 50a and it has been fantastic but won't accommodate the additional panels.

In a pinch you can. Although a site I saw recommended tds level of 5 and below and I saw another recommending tds level 8 max . I have tested Eva water and I remember getting tds level of about 32

Let me narrate an anecdotal story. I bought Trojan flooded batteries about 7 or 8 years ago. I was topping it up with water from my borehole. Of the eight batteries (6V), 7 are still doing fine, i.e. I'm still running them beside my lithium bank. Because of the impressive performance of my Trojan batteries, a friend bought another set of 4 trojan batteries (12V). He was diligently topping them up with packaged distilled water. His batteries didn't last a year before he sold them off as scraps.

I went to his house one day and I saw his left over distilled water in 4 liter kegs. I brought them home to use with my batteries. But, I became fearful. If my borehole water was okay for my batteries and his own died while consuming distilled water, will it be wise to feed my batteries with the same distilled water?

Short story; the distilled water is still in the kegs, unused and my batteries have continued to drink borehole water. Never used distilled water on them for one day!

Get a tds meter. I use sachet water with tds level 5 and below. An ideal distilled water should have 0 tds
