It's krayzie out here. What sort of lady talks like that about a human being?

I just cant help but wish her same fate - No, not that her innocent daughter gets raped. No! I wish she herself gets raped, no matter how old she is. These dogs that do these things these days don't care much about age.

Orikinla,
Did u ever see those Chinese inscriptions about Truth, Beauty, Freedom and Love? A friend of mine's got them hanging on his wall. Did they inspire this writing? I mean, could you get he writer to comment?

Music/RadioRe: Faux Pas: Mode9 & ' Nigerian Girls' Was It Miscalculated? by nanaboi(m): 4:56pm On Mar 10, 2009
Personally, I think the ladies should forgive Mode 9 becoz he's going through an identity crisis. I figure it happens to some artistes - that period when they sound like some other great artiste before them, prior to their finding their unique voice.

At first, there was that hint of Scarface in his voice and lyricism, but nowadays, he's more into Jay Z's flavor, though the voice is agreeably different. Paradigm Shift confirmed this suspicion of mine which the song Nigerian Girls triggered off. Absolutely, he hurt Nigerian ladies in that song. Ruggedman is not like that.

Kudos to Supple Magazine. I remember seeing the open invitation. Is it closed now? If it isn't, well, I'll be glad to send in a contribution, and see how it goes.

Music/RadioDoes Anybody Here Host A Music Program (on Radio, 4 Instance)? by nanaboi(op): 4:21pm On Mar 10, 2009
Hey. I'm trying to get a proposal approved to start hosting a music program on Cosmo FM, Enugu.
I'm a greenhorn in the whole thing and I could really use some tips regarding going 4 sponsors. I already am going after 2 companies now, I'll in fact make a move tomorrow, but nothing yet. Plus I haven't heard any feedback from the station. I'm just anxious. Anybody wanna share?

LiteratureRe: Toni Kan's Nights Of The Creaking Bed New Collection by nanaboi(m): 2:44pm On Feb 27, 2009
I've always thought Toni Kan's a fantastic penman. I wrote my long essay in school on his first published poetry collection, When A Dream Lingers too Long and I had fun with that work.

Haven't been oppurtuned to read him again. The bookshop I just checked now in Enugu seems 2 store only books by foreign authors - the "best seller" syndrome.

I know someone - (an Ada) that's about to start similar training in the said Radio Nigeria skool and I hear the place is kool - I dont know about the structures, just the quality of the training.
I dont have an answer 2 ur puzzle tho. But I believe u can and will if u try.
Music/RadioAny Muson Student Here? by nanaboi(op): 5:22pm On Jan 19, 2009
I'm not one, never even been there, not even in Lagos now, but will like 2 probably grab a certificate there someday. It's about the experience of a music skool and formal music training that I'd like to be there.

Meantime, I'd like to meet someone already there or that's been thru it who wouldn't mind sharing their experience.
Music/RadioRe: Ruggedman Responds To Death Blow (the Mode9 Diss Song) by nanaboi(m): 5:48pm On Jan 06, 2009
Is this thread 4 Mode9 fans or 4 beef analysts? Not that I care tho.

Now listen up peoples, a lot of ur comments here are bias-ladden. Both rappers are tight lyricists and comparing them cannot be sound without admitting this.

Mode9's Paradigm Shift was kool but in itself, has enuff loopholes 4 Ruggedman 2 kill him if he wants 2 diss him back on the basis of just that album. 4 one, Mode9 was sounding a lot like a Jigga freak with an oppurtunity 2 profess. This was also discernible in "Nigerian Girls". Prove me wrong if you've listened 2 him well - I didnt say "jammed him well", I mean "listened 2 him well".

On the basis of originality, Ruggedman is as tight as V-pussy coz he is he and nobody else. Mode9 might take the complexity coz his instrumental poetry has such complexity in its structure as can be likened 2 the elevated works of Nas and the likes.

STYLE IS THE MAN. Since this is unarguably so, Mode9 errs in this line

You rap for mechanics I rap and you panic leave you manic depressed damn it

I guess it's a desperate attempt at rhyming else why would he say that? Coz Ruggedman adds pidgin a lot more thatn he does?
He mad similar insinuation in "Bush Girl Behind Girl" where he said the Bush girl's favorite rapper is Nigga Raw , (to be continued)

Music/RadioRe: Violinist! Identify Here! by nanaboi(m): 4:40pm On Nov 26, 2008
Happy to see a thread with a variety that's class. Little wonder there are just a few peeps in here.

I suck at using my fingers meaningfully on any instrument, say except for the ekwe and small metal gong, ogene nto nto .
Bought me an acoustic and still can't finger her right. I only know a few major keys on it, @ least I know where they are, not like i could combine them in real time, you know, like keep up with a normal tempo that's not graveyard slow.

Anyway, I love the violin and could date a girl just coz she plays it, well, plus other things grin

But the guitar? Allah! Reminds me. essbee24, r u a girl? wink
LiteratureCan A Stage Act Be Good Without (good) Mics? by nanaboi(op): 4:26pm On Nov 26, 2008
I've seen some of our stage works done with inadequate microphones. Actors in such scenery are forced to project their voices so much that you can't tell the difference between a confrontation and a bedroom conversation.

I don't stay in Lagos and have not been oppurtuned to see plays like The Vagina Monologue enacted so I do not mean to generalise but if stage works should include everything done on stage and not necessarily by the big shots, then you might agree with me that mics are not really used.

My question: Don't you think stage works don't work well without mics?
Music/RadioRe: Mode Nine Answers Your Questions Even About 'dis Baba Dat Baba' by nanaboi(m): 9:03pm On Nov 22, 2008
He's a fool that tries to blast any of the two warriors("warriors" - not coz they're in war, but bcoz they represnt like gud fightaz shud). They're both gooda than ur average.

So, java blowing off Rugged is like saying Achebe is whack bcoz u "think" u're feeling Soyinka. Good news tho, u've the right to ur opinion even if it doesn't count.

But seriously now, Rugged scores mo in dynamism 4 me. He's as plain as he is blunt; as flexible as he is taut.

Mode9 is a seeker for 1 thing - new routes to the divinity of instrumental poetry. He is flows, and that is no typo; I mean, he is flows in himself.

If their beef will school, then let's all gladly go to class. Ka ji? Muje class sosei.

Nairaland GeneralSeun, What Happened To "your Posts" Tab? by nanaboi(op): 7:34pm On Nov 19, 2008
That tab was especially helpful in finding replies to one's posts and promptly too since no one sends mails to notify one of replies these days.

Or is my problem peculiar though I know I've tried on several computers and still haven't seen the tab lately.
