EducationRe: Roots of (Violent) Cultism in Nigerian Schools by nanaboi(m): 1:48pm On Jun 05, 2007
Yea-Yeah. Afta all said and done, there is no decency on the sea.

If u attended an ajebo school where cultism is like boys' scout, be informed now that in some otha school, it's a boy touts-thing. And u all have the same orientation.

And if u're outside the country, well, just delete your post because u can't feel us, and we can't feel u because your info might be pretty dated. If Wole had any posts here, this would go 4 him 2. Like someone said here, he was myopic. In fact, he wasnt. He knew what he was doing. He meant it this way.

What can be decent about doctrines that say loot is treasure ?

I've always thot this guy is seriousli sick. Did u watch his interview on Inside Africa, CNN when he won the election? They zoomed in on his face so u could see the eczema-like stuff that's on hius fore-head, jaw and yuk! that guy needs medical attention.

But with Nigeria's dough, I think he's gonna be alrite

There's this gospel one I came across - solo tho. But I neva got a chance to find out the guy's name. Chorus is in Igbo language:

Ime-ela Papa a a

Ime-ela Eze

Ime-ela Papa a a

Where u are, that's where I wanna be.

Plz, anybody here know his name? I'm down like a car with 4 flat tyres with that song!

LiteratureRe: Which Nigerian Poem Is Your Best? by nanaboi(m): 12:37pm On May 18, 2007
We read J. P. Clark's Casualties - a collection of his poems set basically in the civil war era. That's where I encountered "Night Rain" again since secondary skool, and then "Abiku".

There were otha more complicated/political poems that our lecturer, Mr. Akpuda, had to guide us through like toddlers. They were quite hard 2 crack 4 some of us who weren't so devoted.

But the collection I read and fell in love with was Toni Kan's When A Dream Lingers too Long.
I love all the poems in it, especially the title poem. My long essay was on that collection.

Scottie's just a hitmaker
I realli think so. He's actualli nothing 2 compare 2 Tim.

O, Cabasa did that "Ruggedy Baba"?
Ok, I get it. He's good.

And Cobhams worx on Dare's CD dey very commendable.

Anybody here makes beats?

Music/RadioTimbaland, Scott Or Pharrel? : Ojb, Jammix Or Cobhams? by nanaboi(op): 1:04pm On May 15, 2007
Whose beats are illest?

I take Timbaland 4 American, I mean listen 2 Aaliyah again. Ok, try Ginuwine's The Life album. Alrite, wat about Brandy's Afrodisiac album - a track like "Shud I Go". That's if u can't feel J. T.'s 2 albums well enuff.
I think Tim's beats simply say "Breakdance 2 it!"

And 4 Nigerian producer ,

Well, I kinda feel Cobhams a lot. OJB too. I dont know Jammix's worx that well, but the ones I know, rock. A choice is hard here.

Somebody say something

I wud like to be an American - unless of course America changes to Britain or Nigeria.

I'd love to be black again.

But I'd love the Black race to be masters and whites slaves. I'd love us to be the inventors, and they, the immitators.

I'd , in fact, I'd love to be an angel - free from human xperience

God why are bad things so tempting?

Why are the best ppl 1 kud eva wish 4 in anotha man's arms, in some high-security mansion/flashy cars (inaccessible), or in a hotel room with my father's mates?

Why are all my friends in secret cults?
Music/RadioRe: Beautiful Liar by nanaboi(m): 1:16pm On Apr 24, 2007
The song is just there, the impact came more from both of them performing together rather than the music itself.

I totally agree. I xpected much more from the duo - acknowledged dancer, Shakira, and acknowledged singer/well, , um,dancer, Beyonce.

But whoeva says Bee is not hot, lieth. The best things about her - to me - is her voice, singing, form and act. Mildly put, her everything.
Music/RadioRe: Star Quest 2007 Music Competition by nanaboi(m): 1:01pm On Apr 24, 2007
There are just three real kool voices ( Christian Adeyefa [Starlite], Palmira Mmerife [The Jewel] and Henry Momoh [Revolution 6] ) and they're in 3 different bands. One of them isn't even a vocalist 4 his band coz he's a drummer (Henry) - u can imagine.

Their major problem is making good melodies. I've neva had the shivers D'ACCORD gave me last year this year.

Their composing skills suck. I guess that's y Djinee tried finding out how they compose thier songs. He says they lack "that thing".

Revolution 6 and Shyne (Molue) are simply clowning.

Well, it's just my opinion, plus [/b]I can't help watching.[b] Does anybody think differently?

Christianity EtcRe: Gospel Music Versus Secular Music by nanaboi(m): 5:36pm On Apr 17, 2007
TV01 has a point.
Just that u guyz dont really get him. Wat I believe he's saying is that Yeah, God may be the author and finisher in Music, but he sure as hell did not author nor finish CERTAIN kinds of music.

D'u know that the meaning of any piece of music is also imbued in it's rhythm? 4 Instance, if I want u to shake ur booty 2 my song everytime u hear it, I make the beat induce it.
It's not 4 nothing that u creepwalk or drop-it-like-its-hot everytime u hear Snoop's "Drop it Like it's Hot" - Pharrell makes u do that.

So how u gon take a beat meant to induce ass-quaking and try to induce the Holy Ghost? Unless of course ur "holy ghost" is very FUNKY
PoliticsRe: Nigeria's Image Was Badly Damaged On Oprah Today! by nanaboi(m): 4:41pm On Apr 17, 2007
Fraud is evil - it's not a mite better than armed robbery, or cold blood mureder.

Oprah has every right to give her attention 2 any issue she feels attracts it - it's not just a show, it's her money u know - so if it's hot enuff 2 aid her show retain its reputation, then it's kool.

Blaming it on the Igbos does not in anyway indicate a heart with Nigeria's interest in it; it indicates a heart (or the charred remains of it) reeking with selfish or atavistic hatred.

Ndi be anyi, ebe nwata na-aru aka na-ebe akwa, ma nne ya anoghi ebe ahu, nna ya noriri ya. Ndewonu.

Diddy that analysis did it.

We have everything it takes but we prefer to showcase the worst in the bunch.
Somebody gains tho - the illiterate and the ignorant.
Worst part is that some GRADUATES fall under the category of the ignorant.

Education'Secret' Cults Are No Longer Secret by nanaboi(op): 2:21pm On Mar 27, 2007
Why Has The "secret" Left The "cults" On Most Nigerian Campuses?

Previously, it was secret and "elite". Strictly for the "men". Right now, it's a boys' thing.

A lot of straight-from-secondary school kids r in it now and they think the gun is like the cane: 4 lashing "Junior Men".

And how they flaunt their acts these days is rather embarrassing. So many drop-outs all ova - that's the result. You just might not know till u ask around.

Music/RadioRe: Do You Create Musical Beats? by nanaboi(m): 5:47pm On Mar 24, 2007
About an exhibition, I was thinking of a TV Reality kind of thing where producers assemble and make beats - sometimes, they are given a set theme/song; some other times, they are allowed to make choice beat - freestyle.

Then in the course, they'll get to meet professionals like Cobhams, OJB, perhaps our friend here - SEGA.

I believe it will be a good xposure.

I use Fruity Loops 6. I do some kool stuff.
Recently, I learnt Cubase and Reason from my producer (Yeah, I sing); but I still need a lot of practice. The problem is that my computer is down so I've been unproductive for a long while now.

Ehe, b4 I 4get, I NEED A SINGER-FRIEND. I've got some already, but I need mo. kool_like_water@yahoo.com if there's any in here.
