Politics / Obaseki's Achievements In Edo State by Nanorest: 4:08pm On Nov 13, 2019 |
I want everyone supporting obaseki to list any of his achievements here. All this Igbo people self. Always claiming nonsense when you are not in Edo state. I am from edo state and I haven't seen any of his achievement except deceiving the gullible ones that Edo state money is not meant to be shared. If the money is working, then why no visible projects? |

Politics / Obaseki, Deputy Get Seven-day Ultimatum To Beg Party Chair by Nanorest: 12:19pm On Nov 05, 2019 |
Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shaibu, have been given a week to apologise to All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman Adams Oshiomhole for their alleged role in last Saturday’s attack at Iyamho. The seven-day ultimatum was given by the Edo Peoples Movement (EPM) in a statement in Abuja yesterday. EPM, a group within the APC in Edo State, warned that the failure of the duo of Obaseki and Shaibu to apologise to the former governor as demanded will have consequences. It threatened to mobilise party members to call for their suspension from the party. In the statement by its Convener, who is the former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Henry Idahagbon, the EPM said the alleged actions of the governor and his deputy had seriously embarrassed the APC in the state. It reads: “We are wondering what the governor and his deputy would be looking for at the residence of the national chairman if not trouble because they were never invited for lunch. The incident at the gate of the national chairman was masterminded by the state government so as to give Oshiomhole a bad image. “Unfortunately, the deputy governor, who was battling to impress his boss in an area where he is not popular, resorted to use thugs to intimidate members of the community. “These people have embarrassed our party – the APC -enough and we are giving them seven days to apologise to Oshiomhole or we will move for their suspension from the party.” The group added: “We have not witnessed the kind of thuggery in this state like we are witnessing today. Ironically, this is the same government that said they don’t want agberos (touts), but today, they spending tax payer’s money to recruit thugs all over the state for their desperate ambitions for a second term. The EPM, which apoligised to the Edo people for supporting Obaseki as Oshiomholes’ successor, said: “We will resist any attempt to embarrass our national chairman in Edo state and we are happy that those who are involved in it do not have the numbers to upset APC victory in the next election.” Source: https://thenationonlineng.net/obaseki-deputy-get-seven-day-ultimatum-to-beg-party-chair/amp/ |

Daughter of late Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia, Eghe, has been suspended as the Chairman of Egor local government area. Eghe is the fourth council chairman to be suspended within the past three months. Others earlier suspended were Chairmen of Esan West local government area, Hon Patrick Aguinede, Alhaji Yakson Musa in Etsako West and Alhaji Aremiyau Momoh of Etsako East. Reasons for the removal of Eghe was sketchy as at press time but government sources said councillors in the locality wrote a petition against her. The source alleged she ran the council as a sole administrator and refused to appoint Supervisory Councillors. Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Monday Osaigbovo, has earlier said Governor Obaseki has always warned them on his zero tolerance for corrupt practices. Politics / Obaseki Suspends Another Council Chairman Over Corruption Allegations by Nanorest: 11:58am On Oct 09, 2019 |
THE Chairman of Esan West local government area, Hon Patrick Aguinede, has been suspended from office over allegation of corruption. Edo, Obaseki Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State This brings to three the chairmen that have been suspended from in the last three months. The others are Alhaji Aremiyau Aligamhe Momoh of Etsako East and Hon Yakson Musa of Etsako West local government area. Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Mr. Monday Osaigbovo, said Governor Obaseki has always warned them on his zero tolerance for corrupt practices. Osaigbovo said Aguinede was suspended for a period of two months to allow an investigation into allegations made against him. He said one of the allegations was that an estate agent petitioned Aguinede that he bought a house for him for N30m and Aguinede refused to pay his agency fees. Osaigbovo said Aguinede was alleged not to have remitted complete money collected as Internally Generated Revenue. “The statistics he gave as the number of tricycles and motorcycles operating in Esan West is 3000. If he collected N150 each from them, that amounts to N9m monthly but Aguinede was remitting the only N4.5m. “The Governor always warned us that anybody caught would not only be sacked but be prosecuted.” Responding to the suspension, Aguinede said he has accepted it in good faith but said that the issue of buying a house for N30m was not a government matter because he was rich as far back as 1988. He said he would appear before any panel set up to investigate the allegations. Source: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/10/obaseki-suspends-council-chairman-over-corruption-allegation/ 1 Like |
